ok, let me start by saying this is the one and only thread where i will explain where i make my bets... after this, i will not answer any questions or respond to anyone talking shit about any lines i get...
all of the games below were bet at the M Resort, after 4pm on 8/10/09... these lines are STILL available there... do not talk shit unless you have gone to vegasinsider.com and clicked on the current Vegas odds at the M resort first...
this season i will usually make all of my bets at 3 casinos in Vegas (M, Leroy's, Hilton), or online at Betonline or Bookmaker...
again, i will explain this once... i consider a couple of these books to be very well kept secrets, and if too many people catch on, i stand to lose a lot of money over the span of the next few years as i lose my value at those books...
with that said... let's get it on!

for the record... i said on another thread (can't remember which one) that Troy could be a serious trap bet... but as i explained, the key was whether or not the line moved off of 3...
well, it not only moved off of it, but it went to 6...
i WILL bet Troy at some point... as long as i get the line at 7 or less...
other games i WILL be betting:
Cal (anything under 24 is still a winner)
VT (+6 would be nice... +4.5 is still juicy!)
OU (hoping for 21 or less)
Min (7 or less)
Stanford (keep dropping baby!)

Looks good Ice...I like a lot of the same plays...specifically Okla.,LSU, CAL, Va Tech and Texas. I haven't looked too much into the Penn St. game, but I will have to give it a peep. GL

i was liking UAB at +2, but was a little surprised they opened as a dog... as soon as i saw them moving to a favorite i knew this was a play... and it was actually up to -6 at Bookmaker and other spots... so i had to jump on this number at -4...
just FYI, when you see this kind of early season line movement (4+ point movement)... those moves are right about 75% of the time or better...
Vtiger... i feel like anything under 7 with Troy is ok... i just want to see a couple more books around town post some numbers...
thanks for the support guys!

Solid picks. Really like the Tex play. I don't see Mack taking his foot off the gas in this one. I think he helps get McCoy gets the Heisman this year. BOL.

i signed up with BM a long time ago, and at that time i just did a normal sign up bonus, cuz i didn't really know how online books worked and wasn't wise to the whole jig...
however, one good thing about BM for a REALLY sharp CFB capper is that they are the first major online book to post lines...
this, of course, means they do not get the benefit of posting a line based on where everyone else has posted theres, so you occasionally get lines that are off by a few points, whereas other books get to see what happens with BM and post lines accordingly...
JW... hope you got on Tekas early... if not get it before it goes over 41.5... that's just a game you have to bet in week 1... Penn St is the other one... those are both must bet games... only reason the Horns aren't a best bet is because i don't usually make a spread that big a BB... but you probably already know this...
ok, added to the card... pretty much got all my key bets in...
Week 1 CFB Bets:
*Penn St (-27)
*UAB (-4)
*Texas (-38)
Oklahoma (-21) -120
Illinois (-6.5) -115
Minnesota (-6.5)
LSU (-14)
* - Best Bet
Cal (-21)... this is a combo bet for half of my normal play... i will ultimately hope to add Cal 2H for an equal amount...
i am partly following Bracks' advice on this one, which i think is dead on! regardless of what happens in the first half of this game, look for Cal to just blow Maryland off the field in the second half...
Bracks is only betting the 2H, taking a gamble that MD can keep it close... he's probably right, but i decided to make it a more calculated risk, in case Cal does roll them from the opening gun...
seriously though... if you are worried about the 21 and don't want to bet Cal... watch the game, and if Cal is up by 10 or less at the half... hit 'em with a good sized bet...

Emmitt... i don't think BM offers 5% juice...

favorite play on the board, JW... this Penn St is not like "any year"... they will blow Akron off the field... they score at least 45 in this game... and Akron scores at least 0... and not much more... 3 if they get lucky...
