ice--I like your style capping, I've been on this board awhile and I like what I am reading here, just want to add my two cents, maybe a little feedback. I only play 7 games on a given Saturday, thats just the number I have come down to over the years for whatever reason, so that has alot to do with my opinions.
Really like the week 1 favs in general, I think CAL is your best play, as you mentioned, there is almost every angle on that game except the fat man from Maryland has ruined lots of lines for me in the past. Not so this year, I like CAL to roll big time.
Cant go with UAB here, I respect the line movement, you will probably hit this one, but it does go against the theory of only playing quality teams for now a bit, still like the pick, would never take Rice though, ever.
Love Illinois, if they dont rout Mizzou this year, it will never happen and I mean never. I dont care who is coaching their team, the talent on the field will speak for itself that day, lots of optimism up there, the line is soft because of previous years matchups.
Texas, Stanford, LSU, PSU, these are all very similarly angled plays, very good programs going up against dogshit, every year 2 of these 3 games the fav will absolutely blow out. Hypothetically all should hit, but probably wont, so I like Texas and Stanford the best there. Gotta like LSU. So I guess PSU is my question there because of the high point total. I do like all 4 plays.
The Minny and OKie State games worry me a bit. Ok St will be one of the most public plays out there, I have to imagine, and UGA tends to show up in these type games where they are flying under the radar. Its tough for me to erase the egg OKST laid 2 years ago against UGA, a bad one. But I will be rooting for you here. The Minny game is just downright weird. I really dont touch the Cuse at all anymore, seems like a team that screws me no matter what, so no play there.
UAB and Kentucky are middle of the road teams, I dont see too much value so I like other games more, but I like your side on each.
A few sides that interest me are Vtech, Troy St, Michigan, Baylor, Ohio, and Texas A and M. Also like Miami (my team) and I think its worth checking San Jose St and Navy, both opponents have each other on deck, one will definitely cover, could hit both. Those are tough plays to make, but the fact you dont like USC or Ohio St kinda leads credibility that way.
