If that is hard to understand just ask me to explain more. Best of luck.
I love baked potatoes
Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Double stuffed and loaded with cheese and butter.

Most people eat way too many carbs and sugar and don't realize it. You can really only "eat" so much fat because it is not a craving. I am using psychological tactics here.
I see people eating pizza guilt free but they won't put butter on their vegetables??? Then they get up and eat another piece of pizza.

One of my buddies is one of the top trainers in the country. I don't train with him but I do know that his circle does not touch sugar. Sure, an occassional bite of chocolate (okay, one bite per day) but they run from that stuff.
I got chewed out because I was making cole slaw and put a tablespoon of sugar in a 10 serving bowl of cole slaw once.

friedshrimp, I take it you want me to explain more.
im sure they do stay away from added sugar. it has no nutritional value and just adds extra calories they gotta burn. u mentioned earlier to be careful with fruit because of the sugar it has in it and that should be the least of someones worries. if someone is watching their sugar/carb intake they should cut out foods that are high in sugar and have no nutritional value. things like soda, cake, table sugar, candy, im sure you get the point. for example on average a medium sized piece of fruit has 10 grams of sugar. a soda has about 40 grams. i think people get the wrong message when you say watch out for fruit. people think they gotta watch their fruit intake but then they drink 3 sodas a day. a persons daily intake of fruits is suppose to b 3 servings which has less sugar than 1 soda.
My point is to cut out the sugary foods and beverages that have no nutritional value before you cut fruit out of your diet.

It's been about 7 months since i started this thread. Sad to say that i wasn't able to reach my aim.
Update of what i have been up to since this post:
- Work & Family became more of a priority/obligation. - My family (Wife & Son) and I moved into our new apartment.
Because work kind of took over, it's no excuse but i began to be too tired to work out as much as before (mainly once or twice during the week days but still play basketball for 3 hrs on Sundays which is a great sweat out). The transition from moving into our own apartment & doing the whole transition/settling in was also an issue as with that, work & family was not able to maintain a good, steady & healthy diet. So needless to say i have been eating alot of "Convenient Foods" such as processed food (take out, fried food etc.) I've lost my scale so i'm not sure what weight i am now but i'm sure it's probably the same as when i started this thread.
Out of all this i have improved some what. I have been getting more active going for a shoot around/jog for 30 mins after work (maybe about 3-4 times a week), been lifting light weights (repetitive work out) every friday and saturday & just recently we bought a brand spankin new treadmill for the new apartment so i can get in some work out during the week which can be more convenient than having to drive and go somewhere for a run.
We've settled into our apartment now sicne moving in about over 2 months ago so now we can plan our meals and have the time and energy to eat healthier. Because work and family are still a priority i am just going to do basics as stated on page 1 of this post:
-Continue to run for 30 mins on the tread mill (8 kmph - vary to 11-12 kmph for several mins) every 2nd day (sometimes consecutively if time permits me) & repetitive light weight training in between. We also have our where we play weekly sunday basketballfull court for 2.5 hours in the morning. When the weather is good (spring here right now & will be summer here soon) i also shoot around several times during the week and do some running on the crt for about 30-40 mins all up.
- My diet is what's going to change the most and discipline is what i'm going to have to practice. I am currently on a fish diet and eating fruits and vegies but eating some junk also. I will cut down on the junk and will only eat wholemeal Bread, Fish, Chicken and Vegies with fruits for my sugar ravings. I usualy have oats for breakfast with green tea. I will only drink Water and some gatorade for those dehydrating workouts and i also drink alot of green tea. So no more Pasta, white bread, potatoes, orange juice and rice.
Will try to get back on this. It won't deliver the change i want quickly but i am going to have to have the mind state of making this more a "lifestyle" thing and within that lose the weight than having a determined "time frame". I gotta start somewhere and with my situation this will be good for now then i can advance later on once i've progressed.
I hope those who also decided on losing some weight or just wanting to get healthier have been doing well. Now that it's Easter which is 'ressurection & salvation & new life let's start a new and all try to make our lives positive in what ever which way that may be.
peace & blessings

stay low on the sugars...everything turns to sugars that you eat. so all the artificial shit leave it alone. drink a shit load of water too. you might even want to try a colon cleanse. you would be surprised what type of carcass you have lodged up in your stomach

My suggestion is that if you want to shed some pounds and not go for anything major like a 6 pack or anything like that...go for nutrisystem. I lossted 50 pounds in 3 months WITHOUT working out. The problem with that was I got leaner but would have come out better if I did work out. But it was one of the best choices I've ever done. The food is actually really good. I stopped it once I lost 50 pounds and kept some extra food around for when I really pig out. When I got on vacation, I can gain up to 10 pounds but when I go home, since it hasn't settled in me, I lose like 7 pounds in 1 day and all of it in like 3. It's all about portions and they plan the portions out perfectly without making you eat tasteless garbage. I highly suggest it to anyone who wants to lose weight. I actually am about to get back on it for a week because of my vacation ending. Now it's pretty pricey but it's really worth it because it really works. And cardio is obviously something you must add to lose body fat. Best of luck with whatever you do and keep us posted.

Yeah, i'm making sure that the only sugar intake i consume are mainly from fruits. I drink mainly water, soy milk and green tea (non commercial brands) I've actualy thought about colon cleansing but very hesitant in somebody poking around down there. I may end up getting it done in the future. Cheers for your tips kingofthewin!!

This was a very, very good informative thread for anyone trying to lose some weight.
But I stopped reading and had to laugh out loud when the op mentioned he was a buck thirty and worried about a beer gut! Dude....
No offense man, the concern and motivation is a good thing, but still.
No offense taken at all. The point of this whole thing is "healthy lifetsyle". I have a son who i want to see grow up and a wife i want to grow old with. The initial motivation for me working out and dieting was because i use to be depressed, was non active, drank alot and ate anything not only does the body suffer but the mind suffers also with that sort of neglect for your well being. This is to insure i don't head into the that dark path again and indicative of me moving farward from that stage in my life. your body is your temple, gotta take care of it.

LOL ... I just read that also ... he is 136 and wants to lose 15lbs. I can only assume that he is 4 feet 3 inches tall.
That would explain why he is a 3 ball bomber, because he sure ain't posting anyone up.
I don't really see the significance wether i am of african desent, asian or cocasion. This is a personal thing i have chosen to do to help improve my life - that is the main focus here

Maybe I should have looked when this thread was made.
But what I wrote up top may help somebody looking to do the same thing.
Sparky10191 - thank you for your input. I'm glad nutrisystem worked for you, i've actually heared of this a while ago. Diet is very important but i also think we should fit in some sort of physical activity but glad you found results. What did you mean by " Igot leaner but would have come out better if I did work out"??

I've always had a fast metabolism, but always had a little gutt. The past year, I've seen myself shred my belly completely and actually have very nice abs.
What's the secret imho?
Working out is great, but if you're like me it gets boring after a while. So don't stop working out, I didn't, but I know now that I don't need to workout as hard.
Secret? It's sex! I know you're laughing, but I swear ever since I started dating my latest girlfriend, my abs have never been happier. Best position...her on her back and you sitting up. Go at it often and when it burns don't stop (for multiple reasons). First thing you'll get are the lower abs that girls die for and then move slightly to target upper abs.
Hand on my heart I ain't shitting you.
This coming from someone who owns an ab cruncher, does sit ups, etc. Only other thing I really enjoy are pull ups. Flex ur abs when doing them.

A high carb diet will keep the belly around, eat just enough carbs to give you energy to get through the day. Kepp doing your cardio daily and keep the carbs low and the protein high. A high protein diet will help flatten that belly. Stay away from saturated fats and fast food also.
