Your quote is relating to when Peter later draws HIS SWORD and Jesus tells him to put it away.

Jesus makes no mention of this in his earlier passage.

1) What makes Christians right and Muslims wrong? 
2) What makes Christians right and Buddhists wrong?
3) If morality comes from the bible then why do Christians have such differing views. 50% of Christians believe homosexuality is a sin and 50% believe it is ok. How can you take morality from a book that people do not agree upon. My interpretation is way different from yours on Matt 10:34, why is your right?
4) If Jesus is king, should the bible not be laid out better so we can understand it easily and not have to argue on it?
5) and finally, the question no Christian has ever answered, why do we pray for people to get better and put Christian scientists in jail when those who believe are going to heaven anyways?

 

In your example, you think Jesus is talking a literal sword? We know Jesus isnt because later on he tells Peter to put away his sword.

Isiah 9:6, Luke 2:14 and John 14:27 make it clear that Jesus came to bring peace. But that peace was between man and God.

Mathew 10:34-36 shows as a result of Jesus' visit to earth , some children will be set against their parents and mans enemies might be those within his own household. This is because many who choose to follow Christ are hated by there family members. This is the cost of discipleship.

By number 4 above  I mean, if Jesus is the son of God and all powerful with knowledge of all, then why not mention homosexuality in the new testament like this:

If you put your person in another man's arse, that is a sin, period. End of discussion. Jesus has spoken.

Instead, we have really very few vague references to something that affects 10% of the population.

Ditto Abortion, why do we have to interpret these things? 

For me, I could believe in a book much easier if it were  more black and white.

why? because we all came from that account. 4 men 72 women...

so all the accounts of the same story what this didn't happen , be fairy tale from the ancients and anthropologists?

What does the bible say about homosexuality. Furthermore, it is a question of ONTOLOGY, not EPISTEMOLOGY. 
Your reasoning also doesnt make sense. It is a scientific fact that smoking causes all sorts of diseases. So, why do people who know this fact still smoke?

The bible makes it very clear ANY sex outside marriage is a sin.

What does the bible say about marriage? It is very clear it is between MAN AND WOMAN.

Not MAN and MAN, not WOMAN and WOMAN.

If marriage is ONLY between man and woman and any sex OUTSIDE marriage is a sin, then it is clear that guy sexual relations is a sin

So a priest has sex with a little boy and he repents and begs forgiveness from God. Does he still go to Heaven when he dies? 

If so, why does God allow him into Heaven? Why does God allow him to ruin the life of a child for sexual gratification?

This may apply only to you. The rest of your Christian brothers have read the same bible and have come to different conclusions. They believe that homosexuality is ok. They do not believe it is a sin. Google it if you do not believe me.
So the "bible is clear on all issues" may only apply to you. 
I read a verse in the bible one way and yet, you read it another. The bible is not clear on this issue. Clear would be we would read it and get the same answer. I am a pretty intelligent guy, if the bible was clear, I think I should be able to understand it.

Look at the evidence and you decide.


There is no evidence. There is, at the end of the day, only faith. Faith that your beliefs are true. There can be no evidence of this as God does not give us any evidence. You can debate til the cows come home but all you are really debating is do you want to believe in something that you cannot see, hear or feel. Do you have faith in God, that he is the God and that he is better than the Muslim version of him.


I simply cannot buy into that but the truth is, I am envious to those that can.

this has to be approached with reason, Jesus raised a laborer had a trade,
carpenter, as a Hebrew man with a trade from a good house he would of been expected to have a wife, most of the stories in the new testament deal with Lazarus, Mary, Martha of the house of Magdalene. Notre dame cathedral in masala France  . was built on the ruin of these members of Jesus family, Saint Valentina the maid of this family whom Jesus rose from the dead played a part similar to Sarah and Abrahams hand mid St. Valentine was the off spring though this work was dismissed in the sitting of clergy in the arrange ment of the bible 663 ad.
we still celebrate Saint Valentines Day though getting a copy of the mans work can be described as Heresy by Pope Frank.

Bible is clear on homosexuality Leviticus States death by stoning however Jesus pardoned Mary her sentence for whoremongoring. Jesus can grant grace to whomever for what ever
Thus he judges for all humans have fallen.
And no one can get to heaven by works alone but through grace of Lord .

Here is the argument against evolution. If a baby is born defective most all natural mammals will reject it. Sooo a chimp has a human. All other chimpanzees are fully matured by 4 dad and mom chimp looking at a 3-5 year old scratch their head and go in it for the long haul

Here we go again- The absolute truth but well, how is it  translated and how do you interpret it. I like the new interpretation of this verse but here I have put the "old" King James version.  Funny how it has changed from "abusers of themselves with mankind to the "men who have sex with men"

If the bible is the word and it is for all, why do we have these debates and inconsistencies. To me, God, who is after all all powerful, should just part the heavens and explain himself plainly.


This is all so obtuse. If I was God and had the key to heaven and I was of a good heart, I would open the heavens and say, "Crash, what I meant in Corinthians is Men should not have sex with men"

But instead we have a vague verse that translates to English poorly from Greek/Hebrew and has now been rewritten by someone who may believe that the bible actually should address the fact of homosexuality. When before, in the original KJ version of the Bible, this read completely differently. For a religion that is accessible for millions and only has one true light, why are there so many versions?



So recently a friend of mine was very sick. She had terminal cancer and was going to die. She was terrified as was her husband. They went to their church and consulted the minister. He felt that a prayer chain would be helpful. So, everyone in the church prayed that this lady would get better. They prayed, day and night for weeks.

Unfortunately, she passed away a few months after that. When she had died, I got a new message that she was in a better place with her Lord and Savior Jesus in heaven.


I asked her Minister, "If she was going to heaven when she died anyways, why was everyone praying so hard for her to get better?"




And always at this point the greatest incongruity in the Bible is revealed for all who care to see.


We pray for people to get better when faced with terminal illness but then say they are in a better place when they die.


Why not just pray for them to die? Only seems logical to me. If I believed in heaven, cancer would be good news!!!

Please explain this to me?

kjv (king James Version) removed four books that the catholic version, who in turn removed a few books for the testimonies were different and wanted to standardize the Bible.

but I believe all religions have a piece of the original truth.
but that is it a piece of the truth, it were the clerics agree and texts agree that has weight .
