Mikniks- I'm going to assume you have no kids. Now when/if you have kids they're going to believe in Santa Claus and the myth that our society has created. At some point most likely from a friend or older sibling they're going to find out that Santa Claus doesn't in fact exist. As a proud parent of 4 boys the oldest being a Marine. We have 3 boys at home. Now when they were younger and believed in Santa Claus I didn't debate or try to convince them that Santa Claus didn't exist. Why? Because I knew Santa Claus wasn't real so why would I waste my time trying to convince my children that he doesn't. Now if they asked questions I answered. But KNOWING that Santa Claus wasn't real it would make no sense to try to convince them or get mad at the way they viewed him. Once my older son found out Santa Claus wasn't real they had their own debates because the Twins still believed. Those were great debates. My point and what Rostos was trying to tell you is that this whole premise that you and your friends based your argument on is flawed from the beginning because everything you object to is a admission that God or Gods exists. If you review your own posts from a neutral perspective. You come up with 2 sound conclusions. #1 God exists and you hate him/her #2 You're completely insane forming arguments over a long period of time about something that you passionately say doesn't exists.

Get this through your head: I DO NOT BELIEVE A GOD EXISTS This doesn't mean I can't attack the god you believe in.  All I'm doing is pointing out that your god has characteristics a god shouldn't have.  This does not mean I believe your god exists.  It means I think your god, if he was real, is a bit of a prick.  If I believed in a god, the god I would think of wouldn't condone genocide.

So this statement makes sense to you? I will present this as "Exhibit A" of the argument that you have to be clinically insane. That short statement is a perfect dichotomy. Truly Mikniks you're in strong denial there son. Like Rostos said maybe you didn't understand his statement. How can you question the characteristics of something that doesn't exists?

He might believe that a God doesn't exist.  But one might.  So he can still argue with you about the attributes of that God even though he BELIEVES one does not exist.  

By describing a characteristic of God, you have admitted he exists.

SJD is on some magical high horse and is convinced that people think it's "right" believe in god and that believers that care about you will look down on you and be upset that you don't believe. On the contrary, anyone that truly cares about you will be happy you have your own thinking mind and came to a conclusion on your own (almost surely the correct one). Right now i dont have a girl friend, lets assume you know for a fact i dont have girl friend, however, i go and proceed to say that my girlfriend is an absolute stunner, very wealthy and is the kindest person in the world.

You know for a fact she doesnt exist, would you start to argue that you dont like her even though you know she doesnt exist?

Would you be spending countless hours debating that my girlfriend doesnt exist, then start to say you dont like her characteristics?
