Nowhere in here do you show how the Bible has been a POSITIVE influence, you simply are showing that it's been an influence. And I'm wondering why, after I debunked all your answers, you once again posted long pages of "evidence" that I have very little desire to pick apart again

Ok, lets play the atheists at ther own game in regards to homosexuality...

Atheists say, if God created men to be homosexuals, how can he condemn them if they commit homosexual actvitiy.

In this case, the atheist is saying, the male has through genetic makeup, desires and attractions for other men which they have no choice over, therefore, there is nothing wrong with acting on these desires and actions.

Ok, i have known people (non believers) who hate homosexuals, when they are around homsexuals, they have a form of homophobia where they want to bash homosexuals. Hey, it is an urge, a desire and feeling they have that they cannot control. Some have it, some dont....

So atheists, if these people (homophobics) have a desire and emotion to bash homosexuals much like the homosexual has a desire and emotion to be with another male, why is it wrong for a friend of mine to act on his desire and emotion but it is not wrong for a homosexual to act on his emotion and desire?

Both have desires and emotions, yet only one group is allowed to act on theirs and the other isnt?

Sounds hypocritical to me...........

Why do some prayers not get answered?

First of all, let me say that sicknesses, suffering and pains are all the result of living in a cursed and fallen world, due to sin.

Yes, Jesus provided for us a way to free us from this cursed world, but until we die, we all will have to deal with all that comes with living in a fallen world.

I do know that many believe that God didn't answer a prayer because of the person that is doing the praying, is lacking in faith.

Another one would be, if God was to answer every prayer and to heal every disease and infirmity, then no one would ever die.

I know that some believe that God didn't answer their prayer because they have present sin in their life. (I personally have a hard time believing this to being the reason why in every circumstance).

I do know that there are many examples of people that have been sick, injured, paralyzed etc. that God uses to make a difference in other peoples lives, so for this reason God chose to not answer their prayer.
I do believe that God will use a person's tragedies to bring Himself glory and to bring back good things into the person's life where a tragedy took place.


I do know that the Bible says in the book of James that some prayers are not answered because one is praying with selfish or wrong motives.

I know of a passage in Matthew that speaks about prayers not being answered due to a person having a heart that wouldn't forgive others.

I can think of another passage in 1 Peter chapter 3 that talks about a way that a husband treats his wife. And that his dealings with his wife can hinder his prayers.

I do also know that the Bible talks about giving Supernatural gifts to people in 1 Corinthians chapter 12, with one of those gifts that is mentioned being the gift of healing.
So, I know that this person would tend to see more healings take place, then one who doesn't have this gift from God. So, in turn see more prayers answered.

There are many more than this. But this is what comes to mind right now.

Lastly, there was a guy in our local congregation that had confirmed cancer that we prayed for.
We prayed for him all the time and for several months. God answered our prayers and he was healed!

But, I know of several other people (including a good friend) that we prayed for all the time, and these people, including my friend where strong Christians, yet they died.

I do not know why and I may never know.

I do know when my friend died, it shipwrecked my faith for some time, because I was convinced that God was going to heal him.

Some mysteries (such as why some are healed and other's are not) may never be known.

ABSOLUTELY!!! AT THE LEAST SHARE BOTH VIEWS OF THE SPECTRUM IN THE SCHOOLS.

GOD INSTITUED THE FAMILY UNIT.

It has influenced the market place on Sundays.

It has made an impact on animal rights and ecology.

It has influenced our traditions and culture within our society.

Why is it ok for SOME people to act on there "uncontrollable" desires, emotions and feeling and others arent?

It's not hypocritical.

Homosexuality hurts who?  Oh.  Nobody...

It's not okay to gay bash because that actually harms others.

Rostos: nothing should be considered a sin if it doesn't harm others. I have no desire to have penis in my asshole, but if my fellow man does, how does it hurt me or you or mikniks or matt or anyone else? Why does god care?

It is a well-known fact that our founding fathers in the USA were, for the most part, godly men who took the Bible's principles to construct our Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Any unbiased historian knows that the Bible has had a much greater influence in the shaping of the foundation of this nation than is being currently taught in our schools.

It has helped bring about and effected our judicial system. (affected)

The USA has laws on the books that enforce punishment on those who would assault and rape women, those who would murder, those who would steal and lie. You may be surprised to know that the source of these laws came directly from the Bible and were given for the protection of society. Many of them can be found in the Old Testament book of Deuteronomy. 

Other examples of laws taken directly from the Bible are our laws regarding bankruptcy, laws in our courts that demand witnesses to a crime before one can be convicted, and laws that demand just weights for commerce.

Our civil laws were established to keep order in our society, and because many our founding fathers were Christians, they created a structure that was based on moral laws taken from the Bible.

It has supported us and helped bring about laws in establishing what we call a "family".(There was no such thing as a family before Christianity apparently)

The Bible is very supportive of the family unit as God created the first family.  The family unit in America was the strongest when the national life of the nation upheld laws and principles that protected it.

When laws are established that encourage sin, then the fruit of that sin brings confusion to society.  Laws in our nation that are trying to gain acceptance for gays to marry will further escalate destruction to the family.

An all good God that He is, is respecting personal sexual choices because He gave all of us free will.

 Everyday we make choices, some right some wrong. He gave us an instruction book which is the Holy Bible to help us make the right choices but unfortunately many do not want to follow His right choices and so when judgment day comes He will judge us by our deeds accordingly and justly.

Let me just answer you this way, when I was very young I instinctively knew that a woman was made for a man, this was even before I knew anything about the bible. How did I know this, well from being raised by my parents...a father and a mother and my father was always the boss of the household.

As I was growing up I was always attracted to girls because of the beauty and gentleness that they possessed. Their beautiful soft radiant skin, their finely shaped bodies were just so appealing and attractive to me.

And then I began seeing guys with other guys and thought man...that is so odd. Why are they not with women, why are they choosing a guy over a woman. I thought surely this is a bad choice and not right.

Then eventually I began to read the Holy Bible and sure enough, I found out I was right, it is a wrong choice, because to God it is a detestable sin.

There are 3 types of sin according to the Bible.

1. Transgression of the law or rebellion against God   2. Imputed sin

3. Personal sin

Unless you lived on some remote island in the middle of the ocean your sin wouldn't affect anyone but you. But since you don't, then you will come in contact with family and friend's, co-workers etc. on a regular basis.

Everyone that you come into contact with will become effected in some direct or indirect way, because sin has consequences.

This is a God given principle that has been at work since he created people.

A person cannot sin, even in private without getting consequences. And sin's consequences always effects someone or everyone that it comes into contact with, because of association.

This means that those around you can be blessed or hurt by association with you and the choices and actions you make, both privately and publicly.

There have been pastor's that have have committed private sins that once in got out into the open, destroyed entire congregations and ministries!

“be sure your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23)

Can you honestly say that there is no one that would then be affected by your secret sins if they should become known?

Sin that is kept secret produces guilt, and guilt has a way of changing us. Others see those changes and are affected by them. 

What we do in secret, God will reward openly. If we pray and fast as unto the LORD, we are rewarded. 

So, it stands to reason that if we sin in secret, we shall also be “rewarded” openly for that action. In any case, God sees and knows about sin, whether private or public, and He does not let sin go unpunished...Matthew 6:6-18 teaches this principle.

The greatest consequence of private, personal sin is to our own mortal soul. Ezekiel 18:4 says that the soul that sins shall die, and Romans 6:23 tells us that the wages of sin is death. This speaks of a person who is a natural, habitual sinner without the benefit of newness of life.
