You will waste your time trying to convince a Christian to get off his faith or beliefs.
No, they will be believe in a Holy Ghost, and ask you to disprove it with empiricism.
This was the cunning moves by Jesus to call himself "the Christ" (anointed one) and they leave the task of disproving that claim on the ancients who were clinging to their faith via a text and those who upheld it within a patriarchal society and illiterate faithful who were subjugated by Rome.
Here are a few miracles, too. Now disprove me.
History will eventually disprove Christianity, and it will fade away as easily as Mithra did.

How many have said that before you and have been proven WRONG

If you look on pg. 28 #690 you will see I answered your question on the 23rd of Oct. just 2 days after you posted your question. Now go back to pg. 28 if you want to read my answer.
Now if you are going to be involved in discussions here I suggest you pay more attention to what's going on, because who wants to keep answering the same questions over and over. You are like the system, she always asks the same question over and over no matter how many times we answer it...lol
So, let me get this straight.....your answer is in a nutshell.......it doesn't matter that there isn't any evidence because people wouldn't believe it anyway?? I mean....I'm not trying to stop you from believing whatever you want to believe, but seriously....think about it and open your mind to that question. Does it even make a bit of sense?

Yet just after Jesus died, there was an explosion in Christianity and the number of Christian churches.....pretty strange occurence if Jesus never existed.........
What would be strange to me is torturing and crucifying a man that is the Messiah. Wouldn't you think of all people, Jesus would be able to convince anyone who or what he was? I do.

Wow. You don't read the Scriptures or anything do you? One of the main staples of the Christ was that he was supposed to be rejected. The reason why Christ wasn't convincing all peoples is because he specifically did not want to. If they accepted Him, then He would not be crucified. If He was not crucified there would not be grace and salvation for all, but only for the person. This is explicitly stated within Scripture. How could you miss that?
Matthew 13:10-17 NKJV 10 And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?” 11
He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know
the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been
given. 12 For whoever
has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever
does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. 13 Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. 14 And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says:
‘ Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and notperceive; 15For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their earsare hard of hearing, And their eyes they haveclosed, Lest they should see withtheireyes and hear withtheirears, Lest they should understand withtheirhearts and turn, So that Ishouldheal them.’
16 But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear; 17 for assuredly, I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.
Have you ever wondered why Jesus had to come at the time that He did? That the Christ waited for a period in human history where the person were at their lowest, then gentiles were at a then-global peak? The first is that the person would reject the Christ, so that the Christ could then turn to all gentiles (non-person). The second is so that the Gospel can be easily spread to all parts of the world.
Everything was planned. Why do you think the Christ gets upset, saying:
Matthew 11:20-24 NKJV 20 Then He began to rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent: 21
“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works
which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have
repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. 22 But I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you. 23 And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be
brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you
had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. 24 But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you.”

I am a christian but do not like having these debates because they go nowhere. I just seeing people trashing each other. Well more atheists trashing the christian if anything lol. Anyway, found this article from Ben Stein on the CBS morning show. Thought it was pretty cool and whether any of you atheists believe or not, I know how you feel about our "Merry Christmas" and other being taken away for "Happy Holidays" Look at what is next...lol
Fucking Holiday trees? lol
Apparently the White House referred to Christmas Trees as Holiday Trees for the first time this year which prompted CBS presenter, Ben Stein, to present this piece which I would like to share with you.
The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday ... ... Morning Commentary.
My confession: ... I am a person, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees. I don't feel threatened. I don't feel discriminated against. That's what they are, Christmas trees.
It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, 'Merry Christmas' to me. I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu . If people want a creche, it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.
I don't like getting pushed around for being a person, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat.
Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed to worship God ? I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.
In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.
Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her 'How could God let something like this happen?' (regarding Hurricane Katrina).. Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, 'I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?'
In light of recent events... terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.
Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said okay.
Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.
Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.'
Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.
Are you laughing yet?
Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it.
Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.
Pass it on if you think it has merit.
If not, then just discard it.... no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don't sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.
My Best Regards, Honestly and respectfully,
Ben Stein

So you respond with scripture. Why do you believe (sell out) just because something is engraved in wood (paper--same thing)??
These scribes were NOT very good writers, left thoughts incomplete, and did not use a vernacular that was scholarly.
The concept of Jehovah was based on a Near East King from around 1000 BC who was both benevolent and intimidating.
So he becomes a grandfather type who cares for his wayward sons (not a mention of daughters who menstruate, ugh), and becomes impetuous, jealous and vengeful. Oh, but he loves us, too.
And all of creation transpired about 5000 years ago--because some Jewish scribes say so.
And do you also believe that human beings do not conspire? Do not form secret societies? Do not seek to subvert other groups and sway others with their 'superior' belief systems?
It's ok to believe in a sinking ship--it's perfectly understandable. It does give many peoiple something to believe in. It is entertaining. It suits the mind that sees reality as black and white; good and evil, and so on.
We are all sons of God. we are his consciousness, because he cannot see what has been created.
You can believe you are seperate from the creation, because it feels stimulating to feel seperate. go for it then. Enjoy the alienation you seek.
It's all a game.

My Best Regards, Honestly and respectfully,
Ben Stein
Bad things never happened until we stopped saying Merry Christmas and took prayer and the bible out of schools Oh, brother
news flash, bad things, as well as good have been happening since the beginning of time...
Haha give me a break system. You think someone would be dumb enough to say ZERO bad things happened before? I think he is generalizing. Such as I could say when you father and mine went to school there were no issues of gun violence or people packing heat lol. Don't be so naive to think that problems haven't been getting worse cause it can make you look stupid. Maybe it is more media, maybe it is less God, maybe it is doctors saying don't touch you kids. Regardless, world is a scary place right now.

Matthew 13:10-17 NKJV 10 And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?” 11 He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. 12 For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.
Matthew 11:20-24 NKJV 20 Then He began to rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent: 21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. 22 But I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you. 23 And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. 24 But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you.”
This is such a convenient response.....think about it. How in the world does this make any sense?? Why would he not try to convince people that he is who he is? Is he just playing a big game and if it turns out you don't believe then you are going to hell? Does that REALLY sound like something this "all loving" god would do? Personally, I will use common sense and say no.

Oh no system, don't be ridiculous and say it is only to me and my perspective. There were no gangs and kids bringing shit to school like they do today 50 years ago. There was discipline, pride and people respected each other and God more on a whole. I don't need to live back then to know that much. Today is a mess. I put that on no discipline and no God or no teachings of good things.

Fine, believe things are worse today, and maybe in some aspects they are ( as they are better in some aspects), but don't give me that bs that it's because people don't believe in god...a lot of those people doing bad things, believe in god so please stop...

I'm glad you mention "it's all a game" because I have had many discussions with some religious friends and even a pastor at one point because I have SO many questions about things. One thing I came away with speaking with them and reading posts from religious people is it is like a big game to Jesus. Person A can do this and that and believe and you go to heaven. Yet, person B even though they may treat others better and actually be a better person.....will go to hell if they don't exactly believe. I have gotten to know over my lifetime a great number of people religious and not religious and some of my best friends are religious, so I want to be clear that I know there are exceptions, but as a whole I have found the majority of the religious people to be the most arrogant, self serving, judgemental, condescending, attention seeking, rude and just plain creepy at times group of people. My wifes side of the family are extremely religious and they are some of the biggest liars I have ever witnessed. I have witnessed rudeness to others and myself from church goers when I was younger waiting tables ALL the time. I have SO many stories about things that relate to these so called church going poeple it's not even funny. That's not even getting into all the sick stuff on tv and read about involving priests, pastors, etc. Again, I don't feel that way at all about all religious people and believe me.....I know there are bad people that aren't religious, but in my lifetime it isn't even close to who the nicer, generous and just more genuine people are. All I know is I will live my life in a way I see fit and treat others how I would want to be treated. No god of mine would play games to decide who burns in hell for eternity or who gets to go to heaven.

Over the course or history, God is one of the leading causes of DEATH. (FACT)
Are you now acknowledging that God exist? You are not being consistent kk, I mean if you don't believe in God what prompts you to make a statement like that?
I believe in God but I would never say He is the leading cause of death but rather I would say that sin is the leading cause of death. For we are all sinners and the wages of sin is death.
You are definitely confused here.

You are definitely right about the respect and discipline, but you can attribute that to about 1,000 other things before learning of the teachings of god makes that list. Parenting is my #1. Without getting into a huge discussion or change of subjects.......what I see is the more uneducated, lazy, unfit to be parents, use the system types, are reproducing at much greater rate then the people that are actually fit to be parents. It's causing a huge problem with how a lot of kids ar ebing raised and also economy issues as well. Different story though for a different time.
