LOL I know, why don't I move to Las Vegas to become a professional gambler because I am a jobless nobody and my game of choice will be penny slots where I can act like a bigshot and treat casino staff like crap by tipping. 45 cents then I can go off on casino staff and humiliate them in public.

his promark still around the same guy months ago complained to waitress that she did not kiss his assssssssssssssss for 45cent tip This guy is getting more press on here than kardashian girls Pro mark grow up ,tip better ,if not walk away from 1 cent machine I forget you only do it for free drinks What loser Go away come back when you finally grow up little man

ProMark, I somewhat understand why you started this thread. Your intentions were for people to discuss their good and bad customer service issues. Unfortunately when a person cannot put themselves in other people's shoes then the discussion pretty much becomes a moot point.

Having been in the service industry for my entire life I have seen this mindset occur time and time again. The feeling that tipping is a privilege, they should be " happy with what they receive". The problem is that people are left to be honorable and ethical and follow the basic guidelines of tipping. That cocktail waitress that you made a point of hunting down to "put in her place" is probably making $2.18/hour. If it is a slow day or night she may not make much more than that. She depends on you and others to play by the unwritten rules and be generous, or at least civilized. That 45 cents to her probably was an insult. I tip a standard buck a drink and I generally drink coffee or bottled water. If they bring me one of each then a minimum of $2. If I am winning I may tip $5 or more. But my winning or loosing doesn't affect the minimum that I tip.

I don't go into a restaurant and order whatever I want then determine later if I have the 20% or more to tip the server. If you can't afford to eat and tip then don't eat. Your financial outlook should not affect someone else's ability to pay their rent and bills.

I have seen over and over again people who are regulars in an establishment and tip poorly no matter what the level of service. Then they wonder why people are not jumping with joy when they enter to dine. It's only human nature to not want to service someone that is not going to reward them fairly. Unfortunately you ProMark will see a decline in service that you receive if you are a regular at any establishments. And then you will probably post about how the level of customer service has declined even further. That cocktail waitress at The Wynn that wished you good luck. She may have in fact honestly been wishing you well, or she may have been trained by The Wynn to be courteous no matter if the are tipped or not. That is how Steve Wynn wants his "guests" to be treated. If this woman waits on you on again in the future she might not be as gracious as the first time.

Although it appears that your mindset is fixed in regards to this I hope that you can at least be objective, but based on how defensive your responses have been I wonder.

Being fair or even generous when tipping only makes another persons day a bit better. And for people that choose to be overly generous it can truly make a persons day. And in some cases they may be talking about your tip in the future.

If we can afford to gamble then we can afford to tip not matter what stakes. Gambling is a luxury not a necessity. TIPS to insure proper service. Proper service should receive a proper tip.

I know that I am probably wasting my time preaching ProMark. But I figure that if I can get one person to change their ways then it will have less effect on the dozens if not hundreds of people that they affect by their tipping, or lack of.
