It's interesting you say, "You sure know how to work the system", when aren't RESORT FEES the system working you? Aren't 2 drinking fountains on the whole strip the system working you? Aren't Bellagio employees telling water vendors they've called the cops the system working you?

How do you not know that a $.45 tip is going to be looked at as an insult? Then to chase her down shows how insecure about the tip you really were. Says alot more about you than her. I would have commented to others about it too if I were her. You stand out as much as the guy tipping black chips. But for the wrong reasons. You're intentionally being rude.
The advice said earlier is best, next time tell her you're having a bad day/week/year and that you'll get her next time. You're a local so you'll be back at some point when you're doing better right? If so, don't go back there when she is working. People have a tendency to do nasty things to people they don't like. Just like you did.
I am not the type of person who brags about how much I tip, I'll leave that to you guys. But it is interesting that you said you had a good betting day, so you tipped more. I stated I was having a bad betting so I tipped less. Yet it's OK for you to do that, but not me?
ad160, my income is not as good as the other guys that brag about their big tips. I'm sorry you feel that way, but every tip should appreciated. If I had a big day, the tips get bigger.

None of you got the gist of what I said. I was in a situation where I only had 45 cents in my pocket. Usually I tip a dollar for a beer. But I didn't have a dollar in my pocket. I didn't want the waitress to wait while I cashed out, went to a machine and got the cash.
But not ONE of you acknowleged this point. I had two options: tip her the 45 cents or not tip at all and get her double next time. I put myself in her shoes and i would rather get the 45 cents. Next time around, I might be gone or I might have forgotten.
I did nothing wrong. And all your blabber didn't solve the problem either.

You said you had two options. You either pay her nothing now and give her double next time or give her $.45 now. You then said you put yourself in her shoes and reasoned that she would rather have the $.45 now vs. the $2 "later". How you came to this arbitrary decision is unknown. Actually these are not equal choices. Or at least for her anyway. By offering those two choices you discounted the value of that dollar way too much and placed too high a value on the $.45 for her. Given the choices, to wait and hope for the $2 is the correct decision for a rational person promoting their own economic interests. This doesn't even take into consideration the social and emotional aspect of that action, for both you and her! I think it is more indicative of you, maybe you need some time off for awhile. When was the last day you didn't go into a casino?
I know this whole scenario is getting too hard for you to handle. Let me explain it in more simple terms. When I say "cashed out" I mean I pressed the "cash out' button on the slot machine. The slot machine gives me a paper voucher that isn't cash, but it's a ticket that needs to be cashed out at either a "cash out" machine or the cashier. So by "cashing out", I still didn't have any cash on me, and by the way she treated me, if I did, I still wouldn't have tipped her.
I have stated a couple of times she handled herself professionally after I chewed her out. Had I stayed there and she came around for drink orders, I would have tipped her the usual dollar or maybe two because of the way she made amends. I have also admitted my behavior wasn't proper (chewing her out). If I could do it over, I would have pulled he to the side and had a private conversation with her. So I admitted I was wrong on that point.

Quickly on the rest of this thread. Obviously just my opinion:
1. Tipping .45 without a quick explanation - no good
2. Complaining about any tip - no good
3. Chastising service workers in a public setting - no good
4. All in all you both owed one another a quick apology.

If you read what I said in the first post "I reached into my pocket AND HAD ONLY 45 CENTS".
If I had stated "I reached into my pocket and tipped her 45 cents", then you could make the case that I was a 45-cent tipper.
But I used the word ~~~~~~~~ONLY~~~~~~~~~meaning this isn't my normal tip. By saying ~~~~~~~ONLY~~~~~~~I'm admitting that I acknowlege that my tip is short. By doing this, aren't any of you getting the point that when I sat down to play the slot machine, I didn't take into account that I might order a drink?
