I am beginning to think thaty what we are seeing in the 2004 flash-forwards (or is it backwards?) is what happens to people when take Floke's deal. Sayid gets Nadia back, but can't have her. Jack got something back, but had to give up something (his wife? Kate?). Hurley? Not sure. He got his luck back, but at what cost? Kate? She's free, but no... (Sawyer? Jack? Aaron?). Just thinking out loud here. We know what Dogan had to give up - it looks like he also had to give up killing anyone. The baseball rminded him that killing Sayid would have meant the end of his son.
Another interesting thing was pointed out to me last week. When we saw all of the images in the lighthouse, they were all places were Jacob had touched the Candidates; EXCEPT, Jacob didn't touch Jack at his childhood home. I gather that's where Jacob touched CHRISTIAN Shepherd. Maybe Jack's not even on the List. Maybe Jack's something different - note that he keeps showing up in other people's 2004 timelines.

More random thougts:
I have a hunch that Floke is either actually the good guy, or at least not any worse than Jacob (note that Jacob's deal with Dogen was really no better than the deal Floke cut with Sayid).
There was a line last night about Floke that sounded exactly like what someone (Ben, I think) had said previously about Charles Whidmore.
Where's Richard these days? He doesn't age, which maybe was the deal he made with Jacob.

Watch it sooner ZooYork and thank us later. The Wire is very addictive. Once you start, you won't be able to stop.
Sawyer is on the other island at the Hydra station.

I love that Snoop basically played herself in the show - although I don't think she killed lots of people; maybe just a couple. If I'm not crazy, she had lunch with Anthony Bourdain in an episode of No Reservations. Only in America.
I didn't love this episode, except for the Ben story. He is a really good actor. I thought it was interesting that in the 2004 timeline he gives his father life-giving oxygen from a canister. In the old Darhma days, he kind of did the opposite. I also thought Alex looked much hotter, after having been dead for a while. Other than that, I'm not sure how much new stuff we got to play with.
Questions that I think might have interesting answers:
How does Lapidus fit into all of this? He's sort of a random character to still be kind of central this late in the game.
Who was the husband of the woman Clair was supposed to give her baby to in L.A. - recall, he had just left his wife before Clair showed up in the 2004 timeline.
Who is David's mom? Who is Alex's dad? I have a feeling that David is Farraday, but I have no idea how.

I have been thinking about this a little...
Jacob knew Charles Widmore was coming to the Island.
A) He told Flocke the were coming when he died.
B) He wanted Jack and Hurley to use the lighthouse to help the sub find the island.
I actually used to think he was aware of the feud between Flocke and Jacob and he was on Flocke's side. His interest in bringing Locke back to the Island used to be what I based this on.
But the look on Flocke's face was not a happy one when Jacob told him they were coming so i'm just now lol
Of course Widmore might just know about The Lamp Post and found the island on his own and this is all nothing more than a head-fake but geez we are supposed to be getting answers NOT more questions! haha

Also if smokey takes the form of a dead person who used to live on the island who was the man that he appeared as on the beach when we first saw him talking with Jacob....
This we will probably never find out and/or does not really matter but it's something to think about
