My second half bets have been fade worthy but im giving this one a shot. Scott missed 3 easy ones at the rim, westbrook banked a 3 and the refs slightly favored okc. The hawks are strong in the 2nd half.

A ton!!  and it's only going to get better as my real money is invested in their futures.  I will win close to 10k on futures if the Hawks win the East and Bud wins Coach of the Year.  

Just last night I hit on two large plays, a medium play and cashed a 1/2 small parlay with a +1733 payout.  Earned a ton of money while watching the Hawks kick the Thunders behind in person, for free.  It doesn't get much better than that.

I have to give a shout out to the refs also.  They did all they could to keep OKC in that game and it didn't work.  ATL wins that game by 20 if the refs don't baby OKC all night.  Jackson clearly travelled before draining that 3 at the end of the 3rd IIRC and Westbrook had that ugly bank 3 at the end of the 1st.  

Any one who doubts this team knows nothing about basketball and should give up trying to bet on the sport.  This is basketball in its purest form and you have to LOVE it.  I know I do.

Bud is absolutely deserving of Coach of the Year, this team has surpassed all my expectations and they are just a pleasure to watch! 

Those refs last night were clowns. Didn't matter in the end. Loved Korvers defense and how Teague stepped up big in the final minutes. If the Spurs didnt prove it already Ball Movement > Iso

Glad we all have your analysis and can all make some money together while the Hawks are doing so well!

Do you think Hawks can beat GS on its own floor comes Feb 6? Should definitely be a good game to watch... and I will surely be rooting for the Hawks. Just curious how you think Hawks match up against Golden State... Thanks for your analysis. BOL.

By the way, that was one hell of a great game to watch last night that Hawks beat the living crap out of OKC, despite how much the refs trying to help OKC and trying to keep them in the game. Totally agree with what nygjmap said, ball movement > ISO. I feel when a team plays against the Hawks, there cant be any drought period in terms of scoring, or else, the Hawks will pull away from you, from a 3 point game to 7-9 point game so quickly.... much similar to Golden State that any team playing against them cannot afford to have a 3 minute drought period... Man, the Hawks are so elegant to watch-- basketball in its finest form indeed.

I'm glad that yall noticed the refs too.  I didn't want to sound like a salty fan complaining about the refs, but it gets old when you play teams like OKC, LAC, Clev.  Why do these players need help if they are so good.  They are labelled superstars for a reason.  They should be able to beat teams without help from the refs.  It's bullshit.

As far as GSW, that's the only team in the league that I am scared of.  I do think the Hawks match up very well with them though.  Millsap/Horford will cause some problems for their frontcourt and I'm excited to see Teague/Curry go at it.  These are easily the two funnest teams to watch and I can't wait to be in Phillips Arena for this one.

Final Note.  Atlanta now has a legit home court advantage.  They have sold out 6 of their last 8 and that place was rocking last night.  It's been a long time coming.

Many thanks for your valueable feedback... but dont you think Hawks have a better defense than Golden State? And doesnt that count for something? Those Hawks players are so atheletic and if they can stay healthy in the postseason, I really think they should give troubles to Golden State... If they can play the same way they did in the 2nd Half of last night against Golden State, I really think they have a legitimate shot beating Golden State... haha (By the way, I am not a Hawks fan, just speaking it from a true basketball fan standpoint).

GS is really good but the way our defense plays the PnR and passing lane I think it'll be very disruptive for their offense. I'm more afraid of a team like Memphis with a healthy conley and z-bo

I think it's 50/50 until I see the two teams play.  I will be leaving that one alone, betting wise, most likely.  I do agree that Atlanta can beat this team.  It should be a great one.

I didn't get to watch the game last night, but as an OKC fan, it's still nice to cash with these Hawks. This run is unreal. I wonder when they will start being 15 point faves. GS too is insane at home. Gas doesn't travel as well so I would ded take the points as GS will probably be favored.

2. Really happy to hear that fans are showing up for these games. The team deserves it and that broke my heart, that the highlight factory wasn't a packed house all the time.

Regarding GSW vs. ATL, I wonder who Coach Bud would stick on Thompson? We all know Korver has stepped up his D, but could he really go toe-to-toe with Mr. 37 all game? Perhaps, Sefolosha would start in place of Korver? Or move Korver to SF and have Carroll guard Thompson? (I always ask myself, what would Bob Weiss do?)

Anyway, talking about the present day, the line against the T-Wolves is 17. Ick. That's too much for my comfort zone even though I don't expect Bud to give any starters significant rest since the next game after this is on Wednesday. I'm guessing the MIN team over/under will be 91-92, but who on that team is going to put up points against the ATL D? It seems that they'd "take it easy" but I don't think Coach Bud would tolerate it. So I might just take the MIN team under.

In addition, Mo Williams & Zach Levine are two of the weaker defensive point guards in the league (if you care for the ESPN Defensive Real Plus-Minus stat, Williams is ranked 64 of 81 among PGs and Levine is ranked 81 of 81), so I expect Teague to have a field day, so whatever prop you see for Teague, take the over. I know I will.

I would be careful with Teague prop bets tonight.  He can surely have a huge game if he wants, but he isn't a statpadder.  He will often sit back and just let his teammates have fun if they are scoring easily.  He tends to only force the issue when the team needs him to.

Minnesota vs Atlanta

-Atlanta will be able to name the score on Minnesota tonight.  If they want to win by 40, they will, and if they want to win by 15, they will.  I expect the bench to get a ton of playing time today as the Hawks keep the Wolves at arms distance throughout the game.  

-Minnesota has scored 80, 75 and 84 points.  They scored 33, 38 and 44 points in the first half of these 3 games.  They average 46 points per game in the first half and 50.8 in the second half for the season.  OKC is the only Hawks opponent to score over 41 points in the first half in their past 5 games.  The other 4 were Indy 41, Detroit 41, Chi 39, Tor 38.  The Hawks allow 46 ppg in the first half and 49.3 in the second half.

-I always focus on Atlanta's elite interior defense and how they force teams in to jumpshots.  Opponents attempt 26 3's per game against ATL which is the most of any team.  ATL is tied for 5th in the league in opponents 3pt% at 33.2%.  Minnesota's 5.1 3pt makes per game is the worst in the league and their 33.6% from 3 is 22nd.  

-The Hawks second unit just may be better defensively than the first unit.  Guys like Dennis, Bazemore and Thabo give 100% every second that they are on the floor.  They love competing no matter who the opponent is.  Bud runs a tight ship and this team is deep and there is a lot of competition for rotation spots.  Playing lazy can quickly lead to fewer minutes.

I think the Hawks will cover the spread but I am going to stick with the safer play in the Minny Team Total Under.  The 2nd unit are much better defenders than they are scorers and they should get a lot of playing time today.

These are my current plays and I am considering really dropping the hammer on this one today.  It will probably end up being an XL play for me which is double a Large play.

Minny 1st Half Team Total Under 43.5  LARGE

Minny Team Total Under 91.5  MEDIUM


I am also going to try a parlay today.  Two parlays which will total a small bet.

Minny TT Under 43.5, Houston -8. OKC +4    +555

Minny TT Under 43.5, Houston -8, OKC ML   +746

Each of these parlays have three more open slots and I will post the further plays if these are still running at the end of the day.

I am also jumping on OKC today.  Every one is jumping on the Cavs wagon and I think its a little too premature.  Irving will not stop Westbrook and OKC's bigs should do a good job against the Cavs frontline.  J.R.Smith is hit or miss and Roberson can keep him in check if they give him the PT.  He did a great job on Korver on Friday night. 

Clevelands recent win streak isn't very impressive to me.  LAC and Chicago are both terribly overrated.  OKC is easily the best team that Cleveland will have faced since Lebron's return.

This being OKC's 5th game of the road trip doesn't bother me much either.  Westbrook and Durant have fresh legs as they just came off of their minutes restriction last week.  They need this game more than Cleveland and I think they can take it. 

Will be on OKC and OKC ML.  Going to wait to see if the line increases.

Will also tail Braxton with Houston for a LARGE play.

When was the last time the Hawks were spotting 18.5 to anyone?

 

It very well me be the highest point spread total in the history of their franchise!

I sure can't remember one but this is my first year betting the regular season regularly. 

They should cover it if they want to.  Teague/Schroder will shut down their point guards and DMC/Thabo should get the best of a young Wiggins.  Millsap matches up well with Thaddeus as well.  I just don't see how Minny is successful on offense today.

I am a bit more than slightly surprised at your statement of "They should cov er if they want to."  It indicates you have in the back of your mind some doubt about the goals of this team which you have not expressed before.  Every statement up to now has been replete with confidence that the Hawks are on a mission this year and they will not let up on the gas.  They will stay the course.

Just a little surprised at your equivocation at this point.

You read in to this statement a little too much.  I said in my game post that I expect Atlanta to cover and I wouldn't be making large plays on the Minnesota TT Under if I doubted the Hawks effort tonight.
