cheers once again scalabrine...enjoyed the read.....man,im luke-warm on it aye..i tend to echo the sentiments,as irrational as they may sumtimes be,of kobesking in that im very timid about betting against a side thats capable of 25 point nitely blowouts if only they can be bothered showing any interest....i wud never lay that many points so ya can only back the knicks if betting this line but im seeing wat others are at the moment, which is miami shifting it rite into over-drive and chasing pacers hard for that #1 seed.both these clubs want that spot desperately, dont doubt it for a second,so the question still remains how hard and for how long will heat play to earn each victory??....lebron has a fire under him rite now feeling sleighted by all the durant love,he is setting a tone this last little while and i believe,as horrid as they currently are, that the new york knicks present themselves as a challenge to get up for in the eyes of miami squad...knicks have surprisingly taken the scalp of the champ on more than one ocassion the past few years and there is that close friendship of carmelo and lebron to consider, all of which serves i think to make this a contest where miami are a better than even chance to show up well i feel.
im mulling this one over a bit,i probably chuck sumthin on it just on your recommendation.certainly wont go against ya.but good luck either way, hoping it hits.....oh,and just turn your computer off at the wall through quarters one thru 3 and a half..it'll just make it easier that way not to get infected by all the morons and doom'n'gloom merchants that will infiltrate the thread from miles around....you do realise you can actually become stoopider just by reading such posts??
It's the Heat. I understand the trepidation. But how do you think the Heat would do at Memphis right now, with a full roster like they had against the Knicks. Would it be a blowout? Do you think the Mavs could give them a run for their money? They did just recently before the Mavs blew their load in the 4th. The Knicks lost to both teams by a combined 7 point, 2 for a Dirk brick that should have never dropped. The point is, the Knicks are showing up lately against good and/or surging WC teams.
Now they play an EC team who is their MAIN rival and who they are MOST familiar with and who've they've covered 4 of 6 against.
And they are getting a very large line that the Heat cover at only a 33% rate this year.
That is in addition to everything I have in the OP which is a boatload of bullets for the Knicks to take out the Heat.
Even if A LOT goes wrong; if they control the three (they won't stop it, they can't) they will get inside this number.

Good write up. Not sure how I feel about this yet. Will have to wait and see and weigh a few things. I'm leaning towards the Heat right now.
Around this time of year is when I tend to not bet against Lebron. Heat have Indy within reach now and they don't like the Knicks, period. They have been showing up for games and slowly ramping up their intensity
National TV TNT game Lebron and D wade love the attention especially with that dopey mask scenario thing..... Knicks are a hard sell here even with the points.
I want you to be aware of something.
As bad as they are, the Knicks simply do not get 10+ given to them by the books.
They have on four occasions this year:
1. 10.5 on the infamous OKC Christmas Day game at home. Got blown out.
2. 10.5 At The spurs after a 4 game rest. They won outright.
3. 11 at the rockets the next night. They covered and lost by 2 on a last second shot.
4. 10 @ OKC. They lost by 12.
So they are 2-2.
But what about those 2 losses?
The first OKC game? No Melo and Tyson was not at full strength.
The second OKC game? A 1 pm start time; the bane of the Knicks and they still only fell outside the 10 by 2.
Here is 10 again.
Against a team that cover 10+ 33% of the time vs. A team the books are unwilling to spot the Knicks even in their worst season since the middle of last decade.
That ALONE should tell you what is the right side.

Always cool to read a write up with some serious thought put into it. Thanks.
My concerns are MIA is picking up steam in the 2h of the season. They finish strong and may not care about 1 seed as much as IND, but they still want it and wouldn't mind stealing it from IND. Betting against MIA is best in 1h of season.
Like you mentioned, NYK don't play stifling defense. They don't have the personel or motivaton most games. Then again, maybe you are right and they show up for prime-time TNT.
One last concern is that NYK already won one of the first two matchups this season. Is MIA going to let the Knicks go up 2-1 in the series?
THEY do NOT have to go up 2-1 vs. the Heat! That is why I am promoting an ultra rare ten point spread for the Knicks! It is a very big line for the books to hand out!

I'm passing up on this game but good luck scal. Heat are ballin' after the break and hopefully they take a breather here since they have easier home schedule ahead.

Perfect timing for this post. Right after Scal says "the play is the Knicks, and here's my reason why"....I literally laughed out loud. Only one other poster mentioned it. Perfect timing. That being said, I have Knicks +10. Thanks for the write-up, Thumbs!!!!!!
