Lamar Jackson

To date, Baltimore has had the worst trainers in the league and lead the league in preseason lower extremity injuries every year. Lamar isn’t injury prone, the entire team is injury prone. 

Now I love Greg Roman’s offense - but how many times has Baltimore surrounded Lamar with a Top 25 WR, a Top 50 WR, and a top tier RB? Maybe you don’t need all three, but where’s the top tier WR? 

Personally speaking, when he first entered the league I put him on a Madden team with the exact opposite - a 4 WR offense with a badass RB. Basically, the 1989 Houston Oilers, except this guy can run if nobody is open or if there’s a huge hole.

But screw all that, if they don’t sign him, who can they sign that’s equal or better? I guess they can trade up with da Bears or my Cardinals for one of the QBs, but odds are they aren’t better than LJ

Thank God they got rid of the strength and conditioning coach... That was long overdue... As well as kicking out Roman. So far Ravens doing the right things this offseason. Monken hire I liked as well. Now, the Ravens should do this... Give Lamar $180 mil fully guaranteed with a clause: if Lamar takes the Ravens to the Super Bowl then he can add an extra 50 mil to his deal to make it $230 mil and if he wins the championship make it $250 mil. Got to make him work for it after all he got to make good on his nfl draft day "promise" or has he forgotten about it. 

Lamar Jackson is this years version of Le'Veon Bell. Should've took the $133M guaranteed and been content. Not enough huh?

How many of this style qb we have to see wear out if 5 years +/- (if their lucky), they have a shelf life. Ravens should franchise him and trade him to the next stupid team after the 4 last year that made historic gaffes regarding qbs (Watson, Wilson, Rogers, Murray)... Next up Atlanta (Blank is 82 years old, he might bite). When you pickup Lamar, wide receivers won't go anywhere near him in free agency. 

Ravens should try to pry Fields from Chicago, he fits the offense they've locked themselves into, enjoy 2 more years of his rookie deal and rid themselves of the 1 career playoff win Lamar Jackson. The best qbs usually make the final 4 every year. Seriously, who thinks Lamar would ever get there?

Whichever team is willing to give up 2 first rounders and also pay him that kind of money he seeks, good luck to you... Surely there is another desperate team more dumber than the Browns lol 

To tell you the truth I personally don't mind getting 2 first round picks out of it... Lamar would be the dumb one not to take the Ravens offer. Ravens know where they stand and thinking of the long term and not the short one. 

you sheep just repeat whatever the talking heads say never any insight never any original thought. you don't need an agent when you know what you want, sure you'll have lawyers to look over whatever you're about to agree to, but when you know what you want and what you won't settle for it's easy. qbs get paid too much anyway so Im not an advocate for all these crazy contracts, but since we are here. Lamar has sense enough to know to not accept less or much less than what other players have gotten who haven't done close to what he's done. It's as simple as that. If such and such got over 200 mil and lifetime record is barely over .500 and doesnt have the personal accolades that I have like mvp yet has been on better teams than I have while doing much less umm not hard to see Im not taking less or much less than he is. How hard is that no agent needed. According to you guys Lamar needs to give 3% of whatever multi hundred million contract he'll sign just to come to that conclusion, how dumb would that be. That would be 7.5 mil if contract is 250 mil. 

Lamar the Agent

On principle Jackson should get out of baltimore. Guy goes above and beyond what anybody ever expected of him and has to beg for a deal to his liking while a porn star who happens to play football sometimes has people begging him to take 230 mil cash. 

He needs an agent to have a different perspective to talk some sense into his 1 playoff win A$$...

I want him to go to Atlanta so bad, to fade the Sh*T out of them.

Jimmy G 41-17, SB appearance and 2 NFC Championship Game appearances, likely 3 if he didn't get hurt. But Lamar with 1 playoff win is supposed to be guaranteed $250M. He's not getting that from the Ravens and it's a joke he doesn't have an agent to tell him the news. But, but, but DeShaun Watson got $250M, I demand $250M. 

 Maybe Lamar should take what Geno Smith just got...3 Years...$105 Million.

Non Exclusive tells you a lot of what they think and value of Lamar...Sure they want him back if the price is right..but they are also content with him going to another team and getting 2 1st rounds picks back in return. They could have put the Exclusive Franchise Tag...........So Clearly the Ravens have the advantage here....Hard to imagine a team offering Lamar the contract that he wants with majority if not all guaranteed money + giving up 2 1st round picks....and the new team has to design a new offense around him as its not like Lamar is a pocket passing QB the t can play in any system.....not as easy as it sounds and Balty knows this........Good luck Lamar..

True this. I was expecting them to use the non exclusive tag, it's Fair for both parties, let Lamar go out and shop around for what he thinks he deserves instead of trapping him with the exclusive tag. With the exclusive tag prob more drama involved with him not showing up for camp etc. think Ravens will be fine. Smart move imo didn't expect anything less from them

  Since he won his 2019 MVP he has declined every year.....So in other words..he has peaked...In 5 years in the league..he has had 1 year where his has passed for more than 3000 yards...- 3,127. and that was his MVP year.......You call him a pocket passer when in 5 years he has only passed for 3000 yards once? None in the last 3 years... Led the league in passing TD'sOh golly....

I love how all the talking media heads as bashing all the QB "needy" teams who have come out and said they will not be pursuing Lamar...and that they are fools and should give Lamar a guaranteed contract worth more than Deshaun Watson got since Lamar has accomplished more and is a former MVP and to just give the Raven 2 1st round picks like its nothing for a QB that has missed 1/3 of his games the last 2 years.. Yet they don't bash the Ravens who are his current team and know him the best for not giving him a guaranteed contract like Watson got.. Yet all these other teams are villains and should just pay Lamar...Hilarious...All these other teams are not superbowl ready and Lamar will not even make them Super bowl ready as could not even make the Ravens a SB contender..All these other teams can just draft a QB and spend the money on other players and save their draft picks.....

And now the media & players are accusing the owners of collusion over LJ...

I believe the huge failure qb mega signings of '22 is having a natural effect on '23... There hasn't been anything this year like last year so far (it's still early but I don't think so).

Lamar has no agent, so how does he start negotiating with other teams? What does he do google the teams, call in through the switchboard and ask to speak with the GM? Bravo to the Ravens for putting him in a box. Just a little payback for not playing the last 5 weeks of season and playoff game.

I don't think the owners are colluding against LJ, I think they're colluding against making dumb, expensive mistakes. AZ gave Murray a huge guaranteed contract and it's biting them in the ass.  No verdict yet in CLE, but those 230 million guaranteed pierogis for Watson could be hard to swallow.  DEN gave Russ $124 million in guaranteed money and while it's $100+ million less in guaranteed cash than what Deshaun got, it still looks like a terrible investment.  I'm sure the other 29 owners are colluding to make sure they don't make the same stupid moves.

LJ isn't being realistic and he apparently doesn't have anyone around him who's being realistic, and that's just sad so see.  One thing to remember, because of his style of play, the team that signs him (other than BAL) is probably going to have to re-invent their entire offense.  That takes time - gotta get the right position players in place, get a playbook together, etc...  If LJ drags this thing out for another couple of months, he's going to end up getting much less than he could have if he signed a $100 million guaranteed deal today.

 So passing TDs are everything for a QB?  What about just overall QB rating?  In his MVP year in 2019, he was 3rd.  In 2020, he was 16th.  In 2021, he finished 23rd with an 87.  In 2022, had a 91.1, finishing in 18th.  This trend doesn't look promising.

What about completion %? In his MVP year, he was 15th.  In 2020, he was 28th.  In 2021, he was 23.  In 2022, he was 26th.  Again, not a good trend.  Is a QB who isn't even in the top half of the league in completion % worth $230 million in guaranteed money?

And since you brought it up, what about TD passes? He killed it in his MVP year with 37, finishing first.  But since then?  In 2020 he finished 14th. In 2021, he was 24th.  And in 2022, he was 17th.  Again, he's not even in the top of half of the league in TD passes over the last 3 years, but he thinks he should be the highest paid QB?
