I give Miami a B+. I would have given them an A if they would have taken an OL in round 2 instead of Jordan Phillips (DT) and then gotten Phillips in round 3. Other than that I have no complaints at all. Man, this team literally has the talent to go 12-4. I love every aspect of their team except 1 offensive lineman and 1 linebacker.
I really like Parker and Ajayi. Loved that guy at Boise State and would have been a 1-2 round pick if his knee wasn't bone on bone. If he can give the Dolphins 1,2,3 or 4 years of good hard running then it was a huge success. They didn't have a need at DT but wow is their line stacked. Their biggest problem by far last year was stopping the run even when they knew it was coming. (perfect example was MNF vs Jets.) That will now be a strength of their team. They will have a defense of the field during running downs that consists of Wake, Suh, OV and Jordan Phillips. There is no way teams will be able to run on Suh and Phillips up the middle. Phillips will be a great run stopper but he can't really rush the passer. We don't need him for that though.
The other picks were for need. Safety, OL and backup nickel corner. I could not be happier with this team right now. If they don't make the playoffs it will be a sin. I love their weapons of Landry, Parker, Stills, Jennings, Matthews, Jordan Cameron and Dion Sims. Every single one of those guys can straight up play. Jennings is prolly the worst of those players but he brings toughness and leadership. I am so happy. Also another plus is when the Dolphins signed Moreno, it made Miller work harder. He ran for 5.1 ypc last year. Now that they draft another RB, I'm sure he will work even harder.
Miami was a playoff team last year with Albert. (5-3 coming off 37-0 win) Now they add Suh, Jennings, Parker, Stills, 2 solid corners, Cameron plus a very solid draft. All while only losing Wallace who I liked but had attitude problems, and Clay who was hurt for 70% of the year.
The only position on their team I don't really like is Lineback. However, Misi, Mccain and Jenkins all have talent and ability. So the worst part of their team is about average BUT Suhs ability to eat blockers will allow Misi to use his best attribute which is his athletic ability.
I'm going all in on the Dolphins this year. People can and will call me a homer but I will debate any and every single position and player on this team. Where are the weaknesses? I just don't see any except for maybe Dallas Thomas on the Oline. but they have 3-4 guys fighting for 1 spot on the line so aslong as 1 of them is decent they will be fine.
Mediocre schedule and I really think this team wins 12 games this year. I can hardly contain my excitement. This is the year. This is the year.
