Moreno is out 4-8 weeks and the Dolphins just signed Daniel Thomas again.
The Dolphins looked terrible yesterday. I was hoping they would of been fired up coming off a huge win over the Patriots but I guess inducting Jim Kelly into the Bills ring of honor fired the Bills up more.

There is something about playing in Buffalo that makes Miami look like a 3-13.
Yesterday was a horrible day. I always forget how bad a loss feels when I expect the Dolphins to win. Expectation and hope is a dangerous thing. My main thing here is not to over-react. Every week in the NFL, after their team loses fans everywhere are ready to overboard. Fire the coach, bench the Qb, seasons over. Pats were favored to go to the superbowl, they lose and everything thinks their season is doomed. Romo and Cutlet sucked, bench and trade them. You can go from a hero to a goat in a few day in the NFL, so I try not to over-react like 90% of NFL fans and analysts and stay the course.
Miami played terrible yesterday. Moreno hurt on the first play, and terrible O-line play were the two main reasons. The defense played well in only the first half and the special teams were atrocious. Tannehill was shaky for the 2nd straight start (some of which can be blamed on being sacked 4 times, and being hit 5 more times) but he did not play well and the receivers dropped more passes. I really wish I knew WHY they play so bad at Buffalo, but I will give the Bills credit they had much more intensity yesterday.
I really don't know what is going to happen in Miami's next game at home vs KC, but I do know they cannot play as bad as they did yesterday. I expect them to bounce back and play well. I really think Buffalo is one of the toughest defenses they will play all year. Moreno makes this team night and day with his physical running. Lamar Miller is not half the man Moreno is and Millers days are becoming numbered in Miami. I hope Moreno is only out 2 week (vs KC,Oak) and then Miami has a bye week 5. I really hope Moreno is back for week 6 but worst case scenario should be around week 7 or 8.
Two things I said in this thread before the season starts that I still standby. I did not expect Miami's offense to click right away (much like the Eagles didn't click until around week 6 last year) and Miami is a much better bet when expectations are low. This team needs to have an underdog mentality to succeed and HOPEFULLY yesterday was a wake up call.
Extremely tough, ugly and frustrating day but with KC and Oakland on deck if Miami can get to the bye at 2-2 I think I would take that with a relative decent shot at 3-1. On the bright side the Dolphins don't have to go to that gloomy chit hole Buffalo. I said to my brother right after kick-off that the game had the exact feel of last years game in Buffalo. Did I mention how much I hate Buffalo???

the playcalling was horrific yesterday... throwing way too much, offensive line looked horrendous... Shotgun every down? What is this a college offense
not impressed.. looks like the same $hit fins as always to me

phins laying pts over the years at home is always a cover for the dog
Yeah I'm really surprised that Miami is more than -3. I almost certainly will not be taking them with the points. Most likely will be some sort of prop bet(s)
Crazy how Miami gives you their ceiling (2nd half of week 1) and then their floor (1st half week 2.) It is beyond frustrating to see. I guess this is how parents feel when their kid brings home D's and F's when they are capable of A's and B's.
Miami has 14 games to live up to their potential or it will be a fire sale in South Florida. Not sure if I can another season of this

I said earlier in the week that I am very unsure how this game will shake out, and I have to stand by that. In the grand scheme of things, I think this is a really big game for the Dolphins. If they win, they have a great chance to be 3-1 at the bye. In the next 2-4 weeks Miami will be getting back Dion Jordan, Reshad Jones, Moreno and Pouncey. Those are 4 starters who will really help this team, they just need to stay above water and 3-1 would certainly be doing that. It looks like Pouncey will play this week which is huge to have 2 pro-bowlers on the O-line after last week's 4 sack performance.
I won't waste anyone's time with a long write up because I don't know how this game will turn out. I could see Miami putting up 31, or 17 points...Same with KC. There really isn't much point betting on this game. It could turn out either way and I think there is value in KC ML or the points....However, I always say Miami is the best bet when noone expects anything of them, and that certainly is the case this week (except linesmakers.) Which make this a good spot for a no-play
With that being said, Its time to talk about Ryan Tannehill. The last few days have been the first time since Tannehill was drafted that I am not sure he is the long term answer at QB position for the Fins. Up until the last few days I had no doubt. Now, as much as I don't want it to, doubt is creeping in and I can't help it. It sucks because if his receivers would stop dropping passes, he would have 2-3 more TDs this year and there would be no doubt. There is just something I saw in 3 of the last 4 games (Buffalo and Jets week 16,17 last year and week 2 at Buffalo.) He just seems tentative to let the ball fly. Its like he knows how much pressure is on him, and he is trying to be perfect which is making his play mediocre. I almost never saw him tentative at all last year, even when he was getting sacked 5 times a game. However I trust Tannehill, and am certainly not ready to jump ship by any means. Matter of fact I am going to put my faith in him this week.
My only 2 plays on the Fins game this week will be 3 units each on Over passing yards and TD's for Tannehill. (I will post the line when I see where I can get best value at.) I'm going to bet on the fact that Ryan Tannehill is the QB I've seen for 2+ years, and not the guy I saw the last 2 games in Buffalo. You always want to buy low and sell high, and this is the first time I've ever doubted Tannehill, so I definitely am buying low.
predicition: 24-23, either way
Go fins...please, please Go Fins!
p.s - I lost a bet to doubleup4life which is why my avatar is what it is.

I could go on a 2 hour rants, but here are my thoughts.
- Joe Philbin is wearing thin. I'm tired of hearing ''we have to play better." Yeah, no chit. Stop talking about it, and start doing it....Tannehill catches the blame
- Down 6, 12 minute left. 2nd and 1 at midfield...Deep pass, incomplete then play-action pass for a sack. Unacceptable when Miami was killing it on the ground. Pathetic.....Tannehill catches the blame
- Drops. Miami almost has almost DOUBLE the drops of any team in the NFL. I've counted 3 dropped touchdowns and too many important drops to count....Tannehill catches the blame
- Tannehill is not playing well at all. Very, very painful to watch this happen...Matt Moore is not the answer. Win, lose or draw Tannehill must play every snap this season. Then, after this season you take a long look at the QB position. Knee-jerk benching him now could have disastrous affect, for everybody.
- If they lose to the Raiders next week, Philbin could lose his job if its an embarrassing loss. This weeks game might be the biggest Dolphins game in the last 3 years, from a franchise standpoint of being at a cross roads.
- Why am I a Dolphins fan?
- The only bright spots are they will be getting Moreno, Pouncey and Reshad Jones back in the next 1-2 weeks. Also, under this type of offense last year through week 8 the Eagles were 3-5, and scored a total of 10 points in weeks 7 and 8. The offense then clicked and they went to the playoffs.
I honestly think the Dolphins might be the most inconsistent team in the entire NFL. From one half to another, from one play to another, who the hell knows what they will do. It really is taking a toll on me watching this team. I feel really bad for you if you are a Miami Dolphins fan. I wish I could break up with this team like a cheating girlfriend, and never look back. Nope. I'm married to them for the rest of my life. I really wish someone would have talked me out of this relationship while we were still dating.

Looking hard at Raiders +4.5 before the inevitable line drop. Our defense is looking stronger and stronger every week and we were a BS penalty away from a Mcfadden game tying TD @ NE. This one out in london on a neutral. If Dolphins offense looks like they did last two weeks they wont win this game. But it is tough going against an inconsistent team like Dolphins after they turned in two bummer games in a row because we all know they can show up against anyone. This line might be 3 by gametime

usually there is a "flex point" I like to call it within a game I can sense with my instincts . The flex point doesn't favor either team situationally here. This game could and should come down to the wire.

I would never personally take the Raiders in this game because of how much talent Miami has compared to Oakland.
Their #1 problem right now is drops. They are able to move the ball, but cannot sustain drives because of all the drops. Perfect example yesterday. 0-0 game. Dolphins have 3rd and 5 from the 30 yard line. Tannehill throws a perfect pass on the run, Gibson drops what would have been an easy 15 yard catch and run. Drops it, and Sturgis misses a 48 yarder.
I'd play the under before I would play the Raiders.

There isn't much to say about this game except it reminds me of an old time WWF match, pink slip on a pole match. If Miami or Oakland lose this game in an embarrassing manner, It is a very strong possibility the head coach is fired. Man, that is a lot pressure for one game
Interesting stat, Miami has 12 drops this year. The Giants are in second with 8. That is such an embarrassing stat, and the main reason they are 1-2. I just refuse to believe this team gives up. They could have easily given up last year while they were in a 4 game losing streak and embattled in a bullying scandal, but they didn't. All the tweets and player quotes I read tell me this team is willing to fight with their backs against the wall.
I'm backing the Dolphin this week in a big way, because if they lose this game I might not be backing them the rest of the season. Miami has more talent and is in a desperate spot. One play, one pass, one positive play could turn their season around. Lazor and his offense broke out last year vs Oakland after starting 3-5, can Miami do the same? If there is ever a team to play when your NFL life is on the line, the Oakland Raiders are that team.
prediction: 27-16, Dolphins.
Miami Dolphins ML (-200): 10u to win 5
Miami Dolphins -4 (-110): 3.1u to win 3
The only thing I can think of when placing these bets are. "Kids, don't try this at home."

I def won't be betting the Dolphins they don't look very good at all. I agree with Vandall the Raiders have been fighting this season and their defense isn't all that bad. A -200 juice bet with the Dolphins wow that takes balls.

If the Dolphins lose this week, losing 13 units on them will feel about as annoying as a few gnats.
In the grand scheme of the Miami Dolphins and their future, this is about as big of a week 4 game as humanly possible.
Believe me I wouldn't be laying that juice unless it was the Raiders or Jags

The key is to enjoy these games when they happen. With the bye next week I can enjoy this one for awhile.
Credit to Ryan Tannehill. He got beat to a pulp last year with that O-line. Struggles this year with drops and bad o-line play, then when he is almost benched responds with the best half of his NFL Career.

What do you think about the Dolphins chances of going over .500 this season after last nights game between the Pats & KC? As a Dolphins fan I felt great about them beating the Pats but started to wonder after they got a beat down from the Chiefs. Is KC a team on the rise? or are the Pats that terrible this season. They barely beat the winless Raiders and the Dolphins just crushed the Raiders in London. The Bills have had the Dolphins number for 2 seasons now so I really wasn't expecting an easy victory for the Fins in that game. Last season if I'm not mistaken the Bills beat the Fins twice with their backup QB.
I have been a very loyal longtime Dolphins fan since the days of A.J Duhe, The Blackwood brothers, Cszonka, Marks brothers, Marino, etc. Jake Scott actually lives here in Hawaii on the Island of Kauai and I hope one day when I'm on that Island I would have the privilege of running into him and talking. From what I hear he is still angry with the NFL so I'm not sure how long of a conversation that would be.
Anyway as long as I have been a fan win or lose I'm still a diehard Dolphins fan till the end.
Aloha!

It's a shame a valuable thread like this gets buried throughout the weeks. Hopefully I can get around to it in the weeks to come. I can appreciate a die hard fan and always welcome the insight. Good hit last week. Gl the rest f the way.
