Regarding the long winded article the simple answer is bet using the Kelly method. It is mathematically proven to be the best way to exploit your edge and minimises your loses.
Read up on it before you post anymore in this thread
The Kelly Method can work in sports but it's a much better method to use in horseracing. And it also has it's limitations especially as your bankroll shrinks after a string of losses. Definitely not a foolproof method.

The exact numbers and percentages can be debated but cd's thinking is 100% correct.
Anyone that continues to put a large chunk of their bankroll into play in one day will eventually get wiped out and will be reloading their account. A lot of people are doing this but will never admit it.
You can argue what % of bankroll should be in play. Maybe 10% is very low. 30% would be on the very high end and I think it would depend on how many games you feel you have an advantage on that given day.
Bash cd all you want. But he is correct with his thinking.
Thank you Seahawk I knew some smart guys would finally drift into this thread. I kept saying no way could everybody on this site be that brain dead.
thanks

i didnt realize how many of you posters risk the majority of your
bankrolls in one day. You see the 10 to 20 percent thing was trying to
confirm matrixxs bullshit, but i can see now most of you all bet more
then 20 percent of your bankroll in one day, so i guess in theory
matrixx could be doing the same thing today.
I don't risk any where near 100% of my BR on any given day. I wouldn't rule out the possibility, but the possibility of that happening is not very good.
However, I don't believe that I am at a point to where I can calculate my EV on any given play, and therefore I don't recognize the Kelly method as being proper for me at this time. I think by flat betting all plays I believe to be 53%+ will put me ahead farther in the long run than varying my bet amounts according to what I think.
Just the way you worded your initial statement was as if that was the only way to do it.
However, perfecting Kelly would lead to an infinite amount of money. It really is flawless.

And a thing that really pisses me off about these forums--not just this thread-- is that a thread will be made about a certain topic and a bunch of assholes come in and completely change the original topic. You threw out the 10% claim to make a point about Matrix's fictional bankroll. Then it gets twisted into betting methods, etc. We can debate betting strategies til the cows come home but your original post about the ludicrous bankroll of Matrix can't be debated.

Its just a matter of time before the guy with a 20k bankroll bets 4 plays for 5k a play risking their whole bankroll in one day and goes 0-4 on the day. I guess that cant never happen to all the gambling gurus we have on this site. This is why the books always end up with the money in the end. Piss poor logic and thinking they are invinceable.
Its like all the chase systems, all it takes is that one bad string to completely wipe out your bankroll. I wonder how the chasers did this year betting against the houston rockets to lose during that one insane run of like 14 straight covers. I know those poeple didnt lose because they actually kept betting against houston and finally got the win, even thou they had to risk like a million to win their original 100 dollar bet back.

If this thread was about Matrixx's fictional bankroll, cd329 should have left his useless brain in the main forums and left out the second paragraph in his original post

Yes somebody finally understands my first post. I wish that i didnt put the other stuff in, but just like you said, i was just trying to make the point stronger. But they all wanted to make this a money management thread. Hell i even said early on that i dont use money management. In fact tonight i got very lucky, had tulsa lost i would have been 2-1 on the night and stuck money like a jackass.
Maybe its the age of alot of the posters here that just dont get some things, but it is a true good feeling when you make a post and others get it, like you did.
thanks

They say you shouldnt risk more then 10 percent of your bankroll in one
day, which if you go by that he would have a gambling bankroll of
880,000.
He didn't say it was his idea. And he used that claim to show you how crazy Matrix's bankroll would have to be to make outlandish wagers.

No, but he tried to claim it as gospel and scoffed at us who laughed at the comment
once again you just arent reading all the posts. I stated right off the bat that all the money management ideas werent mine. I only thru in the 10-20 percent thing in my first post to backup my post about matrixx and had i known there was tjis many nutcases risking their entire bankrolls in one day, i would have left it off. Now with that said, since you seem to want to act like you know it all, why not post your money management plays everyday for 3 or 6 months? My guess is you cant because you wouldnt want to show how us how stupid it is to risk a big portion of your bankroll everyday. So come on gambling guru show us how wrong all those money management articles are.

I don't post plays on public forums. I posted plays on a part of Covers that no longer exists, and I had a winning record. Many people here read them, and some even saw i had over 100 units in play in one night in the golf (for >25 units profit).
I don't have to prove jackshit to anybody. I know how well I do, the only other person that is aware of my profit is my girlfriend. Faceless people on an internet forum are not high on the list of people who I have to impress

CD329, I think by stating "I cant wait until Vanzack reads your stupidity. If you think Vnazack
puts his whole bankroll into play, you havent ever read any of his
posts. Now please go away you friggin trouble maker." you proved their point. You did/dont know what you're talking about, and Seahawk is not helping your case.

are you really fuckin brain dead Kush? I said in an earlier post that i didnt realize Vanzack would bet like that. I thought for sure a guy like him would never do that but i was wrong about that. In fact i was wrong about how many people actually put their whole bankroll into play each day. Maybe if you read all the posts instead of just hurrying to want to bash, you would have saw that.
