Monoclonal anti-bodies are ineffective against omicron variant according to Eli Lilly and Regeneron the companies that created the treatment.  Sotrovimal is the only anti-body treatment that works but is in short supply.  By the time, Eli Lilly develops a new anti-body treatment, omicron may be history.   However masks and vaccines are still the best defense against omicron and future variants.  Even they are recommended for patients after monoclonal anti-body or anti-viral pills treatment.  Public health experts consider world vaccination the only way out of pandemic.  A ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.  Better to prevent illness than to treat it.

The CDC director was on tv saying over 75% of covid deaths were from people with 4 or more comorbidities. 4 or more? That’s people with some serious health issues. So why are they telling all these healthy people to get the jab again? This is lunacy 

i wonder what the percentage would be if they included people with 2 or 3 comorbidities? 

If masks are the best defense why is it the nine states and DC that have mask mandates make up 28% of the nation's population yet over 30% of the positive daily cases?????

But there’s a simpler reason the justices should stay these mandates: the rise of the Omicron variant,” the paper wrote. “It would be irrational, legally indefensible and contrary to the public interest for government to mandate vaccines absent any evidence that the vaccines are effective in stopping the spread of the pathogen they target. Yet that’s exactly what’s happening here.”

The little data we have suggest the opposite. One preprint study found that after 30 days the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines no longer had any statistically significant positive effect against Omicron infection, and after 90 days, their effect went negative—i.e., vaccinated people were more susceptible to Omicron infection. Confirming this negative efficacy finding, data from Denmark and the Canadian province of Ontario indicate that vaccinated people have higher rates of Omicron infection than unvaccinated people.

I was talking convalescent plasma from those who previously had Omicron.

Diminished efficacy is the term you are looking for, not INEFFECTIVE.........the same term that is used for the VACCINES vs. omicron.  But go ahead and discount treatment for covid and spout your BS lies that are so easily proven to be FALSE.

Denmark data shows covid infections are 4 times more common among unvaccinated population according to McGill university.  Denmark's version of doctor Fauci says his comments have been misinterpreted.  What he meant is that triple vaccinated people are more likely to be infected by omicron while unvaccinated people are more likely to be infected by delta because vaccines work better against delta and older variants. 

 In Ontario, hospital occupancy for unvaccinated is 611 per million compared to 129 per million among fully vaccinated.  ICU occupancy rate for unvaccinated is 153 per million compared to 11 per million among fully vaccinated.  So vaccines still work well in preventing severe illness but are expected to be less effective in preventing infections.   Infections are a less important metric than hospitalizations in high vaccination countries.

Just curious if you take this same approach with talking to strangers in public? If they don't have the vax will you just walk away from a conversation, and do you ask people if they are vaccinated before talking to them?

Connecticut has 90% of population with one dose of vaccine, 75.3% fully vaccinated. Yesterday they had 31,405 cases, by population that is equivalent to 3 million US daily cases.

Their current 7-day average death rate is equivalent to 1592 daily US deaths and climbing.

One would think a highly vaccinated state would be fairing so much better.

The numbers are BS. The numbers are inflated due to incentives to keep hospitals open while other sections are shut down. Keep trying kelly. Your own people are already turning on you. Just look at Brandons numbers. 

Have to agree there.  The age old adage never seems to be irrelevent. 

Mind you, with each new covid variant, the efficacy of the 2020 vaccines developed for the Wuhan Strain drops significantly.  It is still extremely helpful but becoming less so with each passing month as the virus continues to spread and mutate.

As long as the virus is allowed to spread, the more mutations will occur.  There's just no telling if the next strain will be deadly.  We just can't know until it happens.   Preventing spread (worldwide) is the way of reducing the mutations.   Big task.

The report is shocking.   I don't wear partisan blinders for either side so I have no reason to doubt their conclusions, especially given what I witnessed in 2020.

Denmark study has been misrepresented in social media according to fact checks by Facebook, Statesman, Reuters and Lead stories.  Nowhere does it suggest vaccinated people are more likely to be infected than unvaccinated people.  Instead study shows vaccine effectiveness restored after boosters.  Actually, findings highlight the need for more vaccination.

According to Infobase Canada, 76% of covid cases occur in unvaccinated population.  But vaccinated majority is almost 4 times larger than unvaccinated minority.  Also unvaccinated accounts for 79% of covid hospitalizations and 75% of covid deaths.

The big risk though is a future mutation, maybe even one coming later this year, will turn out to be very deadly.

It's actually frightening talking to these people in public. They still believe the unvaxed are spreading the virus and the vaxed are 100% safe from spreading. Mind boggling that they can not see what's happening. Get that 6th and 7th booster and when the "newest vax for the newest variant" that's only been around for a month comes out, be sure to get that first. I mean, someone needs to test it, right? 1.5 months of creation should be good, right?
