During an appearance on Fox News Sunday, CDC director Rochelle Walensky failed to clarify how many of the 836,000 U.S. patients whose deaths were attributed to Covid in the last two years had underlying medical conditions.

“How many of the 836,000 deaths in the U.S. linked to Covid are from Covid or how many are with Covid but they had other co-morbidities. Do you have that breakdown?” anchor Bret Baier asked.

“Yes, of course, with Omicron we’re following that very carefully, our death registry takes a few weeks to collect and Omicron has been with us for just a few weeks but those data will be forthcoming,” Walensky replied.

Why are we just now releasing this data???  Goal posts have been moving the last two years so why change it up now.....Biden's poll numbers

This is true now with the omicron variant.  Not so with the original Wuhan Strain that is virtually non-existant now. In early 2021 vaccinations against the Wuhan Strain were also effective at vastly reducing the contagiousness and spread.

There are currently 2,970 people hospitalized in Massachusetts with Covid. 45.4% of the people hospitalized are vaccinated. This is according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. 

Folks on social media misrepresent all kinds of data.

I posted a WSJ article.

 The state is poised to release additional hospitalization data soon that will reveal if hospitalized patients are there because of COVID-19 symptoms, or tested positive for the virus after being hospitalized for other conditions.

I'm sure you will inform the forum once this data is released. 

Why didn’t they do this when Trump was in office? This is what we call ‘moving the goalposts’.

You know who buys rapid tests? People that think they have Covid because they have symptoms.  

You know who spreads Covid? People that with Covid symptoms. 

You know where old and fat people go to pick-up their medications? Drug stores.

 I forgot to share something that you might enjoy.

You mentioned Matt Gaetz in another thread (which I can't find) & it reminded me that American Greed on CNBC has a decent episode on Joel Greenberg & how he came to power showing up with Gaetz & Trump in DC.

Greenberg is currently in jail awaiting sentencing in federal court next March. He is facing up to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty last May to six federal crimes, including sex trafficking of a child, identity theft, stalking, wire fraud and conspiracy to bribe a public official.

It got me thinking as to why our new AG & the DOJ haven't moved forward with charges on Gaetz They should either charge him or come out & say they came up empty IMO.

That's so funny, back in August I was feeling ill and having inner ear trouble/dizzyness. Thought maybe covid. Went to the Walgreens, grabbed a rapid test and as I was approaching the counter about an 90 year old lady with a walker is at the ATM right next to the counter. Man, I tried by best to distance myself from her! She turned around and started asking questions. Just stepped back and pointed to the clerk who helped her. 

Thought the same damn thing! Should be available at the Pharm drive thru only.

In 2020, there is less known about the pandemic.  People are influenced by their news sources.  Democrats over estimate risk of hospitalization for unvaccinated people.  But republicans under estimate risk of covid and over estimate risk of vaccines.

Midnight1 is right.  Massachusetts governor says surge in hospitalizations is mostly driven by unvaccinated minority.  Despite under 13% of adults unvaccinated, they comprise 55-75% of hospitalized covid cases according to Beckers hospital review.  Massachusetts health department reveals 97% of breakthrough cases haven't resulted in hospitalizations.
