Great story! You could definitely not be here. He could have easily not even made it to the foothills. San Francisco, and California, back then were pretty crazy. Somethings never change.

There is no cohesive national strategy to combat this virus except for unenforced guidelines. The administration never had control & will never get control. If you are waiting for a plan, stop waiting. It's not going to happen.

Instead the administration applies band-aids to virus outbreaks after they have occurred. They promote opening of schools with little or no guidance handing off the responsibility to local governments while attacking those same entities when they do not agree with his plan.

His only goal is to get re-elected while subjecting his supporters to the virus with his ego stroking rallies. He throws lies and money to solve his problem just as he has his entire adult life. In our history, we have almost always had someone in an administration to control the president in some fashion. All the adults have left and all we have are family members & losers like Peter Navarro who ran for political office 5 times & losing all of those elections. 

He is unfit, incapable of leading in this crisis and he is not going to change.

We need to make the change in November. 

How about the latest? The Trump White House is preventing hospitals from releasing their COVID-19 numbers to the CDC, and instead will only be releasing them to the White House so Trump can continue lying to the public

That is a pretty amazing story that I'm sure Rebecca loves repeating. The 1st line workers at the clinic know they are not forgotten & 3 dudes from across the country made a difference in their lives even for one day.

Berkley releases long term implications for some... Covid survivors.

For some individuals with COVID-19, recovering from the acute phase of the infection is only the beginning. Worrying reports now indicate that the virus may be capable of inflicting long-lasting damage to the lungs, heart and nervous system, and researchers are closely watching to see if the kidneys, liver and gastrointestinal tract may be susceptible to persistent damage as well.

Some patients also report symptoms that remain weeks, even months, after becoming infected, leading some to suspect that the virus may be able to spark conditions like chronic fatigue syndrome.

“In the beginning, our model for understanding this infection was to treat it like another respiratory virus like influenza,” said John Swartzberg, clinical professor emeritus of infectious diseases and vaccinology in the UC Berkeley-UCSF Joint Medical Program. “I think one of the most unfortunate and interesting things about this virus is that its interaction with us is actually far more complicated than that.”

 Berkeley News spoke to Swartzberg about what we know about the virus’s potential to inflict long-term damage to the body and how patients can lessen their risk of complications. But he cautions that, after only about six months of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, it is too early to say if any persistent effects are chronic or long-term, or if we’ve identified all the possible long-term impacts.

Blockchain tech is ideal for SARS-CoV-2 vaccine supply chains according to an expert who says efficiency and trust are vital.

In the six or so months since SARS-CoV2 – the causative agent of COVID-19 – was detected, public health efforts have focused on finding ways to slow the spread of the virus until a vaccine could be developed.

In parallel vaccine developers have accelerated their efforts. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) there are 23 candidate SARS-CoV2 jabs in clinical trials and 140 in animal studies.

With several of these candidates poised for Phase III trials, the focus of many in the sector has shifted to manufacture.

Making enough vaccine to protect billions of people against the virus is a significant undertaking. Collaboration is core to many efforts, with developers like Moderna and AstraZeneca calling on multiple CDMOs to try and ensure sufficient capacity.

Distribution
How to distribute SARS-CoV2 vaccines in a secure and efficient manner is another question.

A blockchain – a digital record of transactions that can be viewed but not edited – is a potential solution according to Kevin Beasley, CIO at software firm VAI.

“Blockchain based supply chains would be better because they will instill trust for consumers, who during this situation may have heightened fears about safety and reliability within the supply chain.

“Also, with current workforce related issues, blockchain can help supply chains to be more efficient in these times,” he added.

Beasley said a blockchain-based SARS-COV-2 supply chain would be a private-based, highly controlled environment, explaining it “would enable confidence for everyone from manufacturers down to doctors and recipients of vaccines that it has been verified along every step, and safe for distribution.

“Since the data in a blockchain is tamper proof, people can feel safe when a vaccine is available.”

Minimal investment
The minimal investment required to join a blockchain would also be an advantage according to Beasley.

“If you’re just joining a blockchain, the only investment needed is having software that is capable of working with blockchain. If you’re going beyond just joining blockchain and want to be part of blockchain at the authentication point, then you would need to invest in the infrastructure to be part of that blockchain.

“Usually only the biggest providers and pharmaceutical companies would be part of the blockchain or, it would entail them going to companies such as IBM or others as the blockchain provide

Normally, past presidents respect doctor Faucci as a reliable source to tell the truth.  However dysfunctional Trump administration denies reality and attacks all public health experts fighting coronavirus at this critical time.  Association of American medical colleges warn any efforts to discredit Faucci are counterproductive and reflect badly on Trump administration.  Polls reveal vast majority of Americans still trust Faucci far more than Trump. 

His critics have no medical credibility according to American public health association.   USAtoday factcheck found most of Navarro's criticisms are false.  Some of Faucci's statements are misconstrued to make them look worse than they are.  Misleading attacks on Faucci's credibility could prolong the pandemic according to American association for advancement of science.  Other defenders of Faucci include American society for microbiology and HIV medicine association. 

Trump administration's rejection of science over politics undermine efforts to control virus spread which means more people will die.  This is a key difference between US and other countries more successful in handling pandemic. To solve this crisis, everyone must support public health experts.  Trust in science and government are very important.
