That's good news for Texas & the country but that doesn't make Joe's comment wrong. They had the 4th highest death total in the country.

Didn't they have a little electrical problem this past winter???? Didn't Joe approve disaster relief for them? Isn't their power grid primitive?

BTW.... Massachusetts, Arizona & Minnesota have recently made similar claims of zero covid related deaths.

Nothing special about Texas in response to pandemic according to Becker's hospital review of states.  Currently, 21st highest in positivity rate.  42nd in percentage of vaccine administered.  37th in percent of population that received at least one vaccine.  25th highest in covid death rate per 100,000 population.  Other states have done better or worse.

California had the highest death total. 

I’ll see if you can figure out why and then you can troubleshoot your own comment. 

They are reporting close to 0 deaths per day. And they have been 100% open for months.

Democrats talk about Texas and don’t mention the total population in Texas 

Bring up California and all of a sudden the total population of a state is relevant

California outperformed Texas in 3 measures according to Becker hospital review.  California 2nd and Texas 31th in lowest positivity rate.  California 29th and Texas 23th in highest covid death rate per 100,000 population.  California 13th and Texas 36th in percent of population receiving at least one vaccine dose.  If Texas adopt California restrictions, more Texans would be alive during pandemic.

You mentioned the amount of Covid deaths in Texas in your previous post. 

What are your thoughts on the amount of Covid deaths in California?

In his very next post thirdperson says the low numbers in Texas are because of their successful rollout of the vaccination.

A very frightening side effect is materializing after taking the vaccine. People are growing large tongues. It might be beneficial for some but the condition is causing problems eating and talking. Here is an article describing this. It is not well written!

Can't be wearing seatbelts. Better to be thrown clear. Why is it so hard to believe tox is a registered democrat? He's typical of people in our age group from places like where we are from. He's from the ultra liberal Northeast. I'm from the ultra liberal Bay Area. When you come from places like this, you're expected to be liberal. You're indoctrinated. It's everywhere around you. Your friends. Your family. Everyone thinks alike and no one questions it but there are many in our age group and younger who are taking a step back, looking at the whole picture, and saying, "Wait a minute. This is bullshit." We are different in that I always had conservative leanings on some issues, liberal leanings on others. And I personally believe both parties are full of shit but he is typical of the 20-somethings - 30-somethings who were brought up liberal only to have an "Aha!" sea change moment. He's not some "Storm the capitol!" ultra-right nationalist. He just simply points out the bullshit that is ingrained in thay party. You can't deny the existence of said bullshit. It exists in both parties. The sheep vehemently defend their side, which takes all credibility away. Link us a thread where tox is vehemently defending the Republican party. He simply calls out the bullshit, the very real bullshit, in the Democratic party.

 If you have never at least acknowledged that there are discrepancies in the narrative we were fed about 9/11, then you are the definition of a sheep. I hate the way the term "sheep" is used but seriously. What is a 9/11 denier? You're not denying it happened. It happened. That much is a given but the devil is in the details. Even if you accept the base narrative, there is so much messed up stuff wrapped up in 9/11. If only acknowledging how 9/11 was used to usher in the Patriot Act, which had been sitting on a shelf because they knew they'd never be able to pass it, if only acknowledging that being shitty, would that make you a denier? He's not denying it happened. We all watched. He's questioning the narrative.

And as far as demographics, most in the Northeast are liberal. Most in Texas, not black or hispanic, are conservative. I don't have to know tox personally. I know how old he is. I know where he's from. That's enough for me to extrapolate how he could've been a registered democrat that turned conservative. And again, he's not even that conservative. If you really read his posts, he'a pretty moderate. People don't take the time to really take in people's viewpoints. Tox and I's first interaction was an argument but we were able to be cordial and to see each others viewpoints. The one thing about tox is sometimes he matter-of-fact, black-and-whites some issues that are very nuanced shades of grays but he is actually pretty dead nuts on a lot of issues.
