An Atlanta-based grand jury on Monday indicted former President Donald Trump on state charges stemming from his illegal efforts to overturn his 2020 electoral defeat in the Peach State.
The historic indictment is the fourth criminal case that Trump – who is currently leading the Republican field in the 2024 White House race – is now facing!
The charges, brought after a sweeping investigation led by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, covers some of the most egregious efforts by the former president and his allies to subvert the 2020 election.
The grand jury met for roughly 10 hours Monday before handing up charges.
I think it is very good that Georgia is holding Trump and his pals responsible for the reckless and baseless behavior they were openly displaying. It goes to show that Trump has no respect for law or for checks and balances, for respecting the process and especially when it does not go his way.
The people he tried to slander, the process he tried to manipulate..very very dangerous and would set a horrible future in motion that if anyone were to question a vote count it means you can slander innocent people, manipulate legal processes and actually go and overturn a legally counted election.
Its too bad that this wont impact these guys in the slightest and in fact Trump will use this to suck more money out of the wallets of his zombie followers who actually think he should be able to slander and cheat his way to an illegal and immoral victory.
I also hope other states follow like Arizona who Trump tried this same garbage and he and his classless dopes slandered public officials here as well. Trump is a dangerous, reckless con and lets hope he gets some recourse for his awful behavior and reckless slandering of decent people.
