@SarasotaSlim Is guy an insult to you? I do not appreciate you taking a dig at me by misquoting what I DIDNT say to try and make yet another point. Your victim card isnt working today and it has never worked. I did not ask for your commentary about member to member digs, your comment was completely unnecessary and inappropriate especially since you were not part of the conversation and I will never ask for your opinion. You are also welcome to avoid member to member digs, so since you interjected yourself I will for the multiple time say this same thing to you...again and again.

Looking for your reply to post #225 ...since you disappeared before you went off the clock ...I see I'll just have to wait..
By the way ,telling me "Your victim card isnt working today" is another insult and moderator to member dig at me ...

As you read in my post about the same experience, we knew in the 80's that this was a practice. There was no arguing or grieving the process as mgmt. had their hands tied. I appreciated the sups. I dealt with telling me the truth, so I just waited my turn.

Also ,since when did a member have to request permission to comment in a thread conversation.?
I was thinking the same exact thing Slim, I have a suspicion that this whole redirect is from my post on page 8 and not Gem's post about gpt. All I had was a member to member opinion that wasn't insulting. It was in response to thirds post about DEI, so really if anyone changed the thread topic it was Third. Literally said I wasn't picking on him but had a different outlook on life
If member opinions differ, is it not allowed to have a conversation about the opinion? As long as there are no insults or put downs, but who decides what is an insult? If someone questions another on a post, that is not an insult it is a member to member interaction
@Raiders22
very sound reasoning about the heart surgeon and pilots. I could never be a pilot, no 20/20 vision here but I accept that and pursued a different path that suits me better.
If I could add to the list like bricklayers, but plumbers, electricians, welders/pipe fitters all have apprenticeships because they can't hire no experience workers like that.
Lifes not fair, where is it written that life is fair. There has always been those that rise up and succeed and others that just follow.
To be fair, the DEi topic that many Biden voters live life by falls under the thread topic because they should be embarrassed but this is my opinion. this is my member to member opinion. conversation = YES, insults = NO

It's "official".......a recent Gallup poll rates Joe Biden as "Worst POTUS since Nixon". " Respondents were asked how they thought presidents would go down in history—"as an outstanding president, above average, average, below average, or poor?" The poll found that among U.S. adults Biden received a net score of -35—the percentage Outstanding/Above Average minus the percentage Below Average/Poor. The only president to receive a lower score was Nixon, with -42.
According to FiveThirtyEight's analysis of polls, just 35.6 percent approval of Biden's performance as of January 13, while 57.1 percent disapprove, giving him a net disapproval rating of 21.5 percent.
Trump's approval rating was 38.6 percent when he left office at the end of his first term in 2021, according to FiveThirtyEight.
Polls are just talking points, not sure about 538 reliability, but Joe has 5 more days to make up 3 points. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Was I discussing fair? That was your line not mine, my point is that you cannot make an assessment of best and most qualified when the playing field is not level and you will never have an opportunity to determine who is best and who is most and whatever other terms you want to label. I am saying US society has been built off elevating the white male and debasing everyone else for centuries. In other countries diversity is common and that is due to the intentional efforts of a few countries to make diversity and equity open to all not just to white males. Also my point was your side is up in arms about the extremes of DEI but that is not the core or even the median of its purpose, it is like how Trump campaigned on the fringes the several standard deviations from reality and claimed it to be the median...well it was not true but it got the lazy selfish voter to go vote for him, it worked. Your side is blaming the extremes and ignoring the true purpose of diversity and inclusion and opportunity for everyone.
We could go a full 100 years of role reversal of having white males do laundry and take the kids to school as a forced narrative and it would still not truly give every single human the same world and same opportunities and the same life that the white male took due to dominion and oppression.
Fair? What are you even talking about? Fair is in the eye of the beholder, to you fair is for sure not what fair is to me or the majority who have been beaten down in this society.

You are a pain and have been for 15 years SS...you pull the same routine of digs and antagonism when I was not addressing you. The way you take things I say completely out of context to form your narrative is the EXACT definition of being a pain. The way you decided to take a wager and then reverse your loss and return to posting is also a pain. The way you have made personal insults to me for as long as you have been posting is a pain, the way you went along with other members who intentionally and personally attacked me to extreme levels is a pain. The way you have stalked and harassed other members for a very very long time IS a pain.
So yes....you have been a pain for a very long time. Why did you make the first message, was it to add value and improve discussion? Or was it yet another attempt for you to take yet another dig at me by exaggerating and forming a flawed narrative as you have since Bush was in office?
Yeah...nice try to play victim for the 50th time.

The complete underlying thesis of DEI is to make it 'fair'. So, yes, by association you are discussing 'fair'.
Absolutely, it can -- and is -- be done to make a judgement who is best qualified EVEN if the 'playing field' is 'not level'.
You simply HIRE the BEST qualified.
The entirely SEPARATE issue is whether it is 'level' for them to get the education and experience for the job.
It is. ANYONE can now get the education. ANYONE can now get the experience.
YOU may NOT start at an elite company. BUT IF you PROVE yourself to be qualified and good at your occupation, THEN the good companies will hire you; if you are not -- then they will NOT hire you.
Why 'force' companies to hire inferior candidates just to be 'woke'.
This is not that difficult to understand.

@wallstreetcappers The DEI needing to be in existence is the reality of the foundation society has been built on by pushing down the true majority to enrich and benefit the true minority. What 'true majority' has been 'pushed down'? And how? Still waiting on your explanation of this.
Still interested in EXACTLY what you mean here and who?

No. It is nothing like that at all. You have to bring Trump into any discussion possible.
The assumption is what you 'think' about his campaign is true. It may or may not be. He campaigned to a lot of not-so-fringe issues as well.
Economy, inflation, illegals, and peace are NOT 'fringe'. If you think they are you need to reevaluate what you 'think' folks care about.
BUT when you 'force' a company to hire LESSER QUALIFIED candidates that is NOT fringe -- the results play out.
Break it down to a personal level -- like your very weak Trump campaign comparison. Are those issue 'fringe' to the voters or not. The polls say no.
BUT is it IMPORTANT to you as a person to have the BEST qualified eye surgeon operate on you, or build your deck.
The polls of the folks say that is NOT a 'fringe' view.

I failed to see any direct insult, either. People are free to post their opinions, but shouldn't expect that everyone will necessarily agree with them. Short of generalized, profanity-laced tirades, responses should be expected. But if you're going to post an opinion but try to pose it as fact, then you should expect said responses to address that. Those that post here should understand that by now.

You speak status quo and reality and life as if what we have allowed to go on is reasonable and it is the proper measure for society. I disagree with your contention, you cannot make a full judgement and assessment with partial flawed data and inputs. The DEI is not about fair as its sole objective, inclusion and diversity and acceptance is not FAIR it is HUMAN...do you not understand the difference? Its ok you like the status quo because it serves your narrative and your white male profile, I do not think that an advantage given at birth due to social flaws and errors is status quo, it is not about FAIR so please remove that it is about being HUMAN it is about the innate right and it is about the flawed basis of why the settlers came here to bring equality and justice and give everyone the same opportunity. The problem is that did not happen it is not the case.
DEI if you continue to look at the standard deviations on the outlier can fit whatever narrative you on the far right can manipulate, the core principals of diversity and inclusion and equality are not found on the far right or far left extremes but this is the narrative Trump pushes it is the narrative you push. The "best" is a summation of social flaws, I am interested in broadening and opening up the social framework and give opportunity to everyone to be BEST and MOST and all of that.
You are severely flawed with your analysis on education btw..not everyone can afford even community college, trade schools let alone higher ed since Trump imploded the tax code, now as education costs continue to dramatically outstrip inflation the meek tiny tax benefit for something you feel is easy and simple and universal was wrecked. Education and being able to pursue either a trade or a professional career should not require decades of financial servitude and interest gouging that now exists in the USA.

Other is not all...I know I have to choose my words PRECISELY with you or the nit pick police will come out with expert counter rebuttals.
Your examples of all the outliers actually proves my point, thank you for pointing out that MOST societies are abusive to females and local minorities, you are 100% correct about MEN being oppressive and abusive to women and the dominant race in ANY society being abusive to those who are not.
Its cool when you try to counter but you actually prove the underlying concept.
So you cant name an OTHER society where diversity is more common? You can do it...I know you can it is quite obvious, so just quit being a nit pick police and understand that the US is poor at diversity, equality and inclusion.....you can do it.

No you are 100% wrong with this comment, just because it happens that your group is abusive and it is COMMONPLACE does not mean it is acceptable and reasonable.
Calling someone chatgpt is not acceptable, even if the member is used to being treated this way it does not mean this is acceptable. Of course you do not see a problem with using digs and slights and underhanded terms, your group does it the high majority of the time and your group complains the majority of the time when I box or make a remark about not doing such things.
Discussion does not need to include slights and put downs member to member...you guys knock political parties all day long back and forth, this site does not allow MEMBER TO MEMBER insults, attacks, stalking, combative remarks...all this stuff you know completely so please keep it simple and be way above reproach with other members because then there is no issue.
Pretty simple and straightforward as it has ALWAYS been.

Concerning the "not everyone can afford even community college". I went to C.C. and my parents couldn't afford it, how did I go you ask.....I worked my ass off with TWO jobs and paid for it myself!! I didn't expect a handout or to be given something. I don't mind helping the helpless, but helping the CLUELESS.....NO THANKS.

They did not mention these. They were mentioned the diversity, or lack thereof.
Which countries are you talking about? They are not necessarily linked. They did not even referenced that.
A country can be both 'abusive' and diverse or it can be 'non-abusive' and no diverse.
You have to choose in order to demonstrate you point.
Or decide maybe that is not the best way to try to prove your point.

The way you have stalked and harassed other members for a very very long time IS a pain.
So yes....you have been a pain for a very long time. Why did you make the first message, was it to add value and improve discussion? Or was it yet another attempt for you to take yet another dig at me by exaggerating and forming a flawed narrative as you have since Bush was in office?Yeah...nice try to play victim for the 50th time.

Wow guy, ,I feel your pain. That was a nice long dissertation,, used in an attempt to avoid answering the questions you were asked..
Now, tell me specifically were did I misquoted you?
Also ,since when did a member have to request permission to comment in a thread conversation.?
I'll add one more Q. If, a message has to add value and improve discussion ( by your own account) how come this criteria is NOT applied to members coming from your political corner..?
