I have to laugh when I hear Republicans say the Democrats wanted Trump out of office immediately after being inaugurated. I don't know about other Democrats but I knew what a POS Trump was from my time growing up in NYC. I wanted him out ASAP so the damage he would create could be limited. Republicans are upset because this move is right out of their playbook.
Back in 2008 after seeing the crowd @ President O's inauguration Republicans soiled their britches. The night of the inauguration conservative lawmakers met at a DC steakhouse. Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan & Kevin McCarthy from the House had dinner with DeMint, Corker, Kyl & others. The guest speaker was Newt Gingrich. This was the inception of the GOP coordinated resistance to President O.
However to his credit, Bush spoke with reasonable right wing talking heads & invited Dennis Prager, Hugh Hewitt & Bill Bennett to the Oval Office. He didn't invite Limpballs or Hannity because he believed they were hopeless cases. Bush said "Look I asked you here for one reason. I want you to go easy on the new guy."

I never knew that the "Tea" Party stood for "Taxed Enough Already."
This group never totally received respect from the established elite Republicans in Congress. They were viewed as a pebble in the shoe of progress. However, they represented a large group of Americans living with societal insecurities watching immigrants getting equal pay for equal skills. The GOP always received their funding from affluent suburbanites while those with Tea Party beliefs got the crumbs.

McConnell told the National Journal "The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one term president."

Trump deserved to be impeached & if the GOP had any balls, witnesses would have shown that he should be removed from office.

We were NOT in the tent. Trump's administration did away with the position.
Staying outside the tent gives us no shot of staying aware. If the wool gets pulled over our eyes inside the tent then that's on the person we chose to put inside the tent.
