I use propane now in my rural home as do all the people in my township and all of rural Michigan. And I use propane in my rv's. No problems even in a tight rv. And water heaters in garage, , remember when I moved to Nevada and saw that. A WTF moment for somebody from Michigan. My propane water heater is right in my house in Michigan and every house, they would freeze in a garage. Again, no problem. You can buy propane leak detectors, few use them in a home, and carbon monoxide detectors, those are widely used, I have one. Just like having a smoke detector. I did remove the propane stove and added the wiring for electric stove and now use electric. But only to save propane that now is so much more expensive as Whitmer battles pipelines in Michigan. Also use a fireplace insert and burn wood most of the winter to reduce propane use. Having acres of forrest with several dead ash trees makes it economical and great exercise too.
You want to talk unsafe, try Teflon. My wife used a new Teflon pan in our RV and it killed her tropical bird in about 15 minutes. Turns out Teflon very toxic to birds but not enough to kill people but can make you sick, at least a new one used for the first time. We were ignorant to it as are most people.
