    @soup-can

     Does anyone know for sure that Iran does not have any nuclear capabilities ??

    "officially" no, they are "not supposed to".... but we everyday people do not know...

    With regards to SE Asia..... the US just recently gave billions to Taiwan for semiconductor chip manufacturing to be done outside of Taiwan.  Arizona is only announced future manufacturing site I believe but this was just done like 2 weeks ago.  A 3 front proxy war after the "Ukraine drain" is not looking good to us.....some would argue this is the positioning for possibly "letting" China move on Taiwan sometime down the line.

    You will not survive here. You are not a wolf, and this is the land of wolves now...

     What has our "allies" done for us? All of our alliances seem to lack reciprocity.

    Taiwan is a strange situation, they really have little recourse with regards to how China decides things go. They like Ukraine were granted separation and privileges with very specific restrictions and expectations. I find it very strange how the citizens and government of Taiwan are playing this situation, it is almost like they have no idea that China can "recall" them to the larger union pretty much whenever and however they want.

    But the boys in Washington will stomp their feet for the cameras and say "not on my watch China", "bad China, bad".  The political theatre we live in is way too much "theatre" and not nearly enough actual politics.

    Israel carries out RETALIATION strike in Iran

    Israel has carried out a strike inside Iran,
    a US official told CNN, in a move that threatens
    to push the region deeper into conflict.

    Multiple explosions were heard near a military base
    in Isfahan province where fighter jets are located,
    according to reports from Iranian semi-official FARS news.
    Iranian air defenses have been activated in several provinces.

    an_speak  The US has been urging Israel not to respond
                 to last weekend’s Iranian attack, which
         President Biden on Thursday called “unprecedented.”

    The US “DID NOT green light” an Israeli response,
    a second US official said.

    @fubah2

     I disagree that Israel was responding, that is cherry picking a long series of events to form a narrative. Israel is orchestrating this and nobody is stopping them. In my opinion their goal is to engage Iran and bring cause of harm to our allies as a reason to drag the US into fighting their LARGEST ENEMY.

    The US is backing the wrong party here, Israel is reckless and not following the approach a NATO member should and they dont care what anyone else thinks their agenda is not going to be stopped.

    @wallstreetcappers

    I'd say Israel main goal is to destroy Gaza as much as possible to make it almost inhabitable so the people are forced to leave and they get more of the "holy" land....

    They do this under the guise that they "must destroy hamas"

    Thats not to say that Hamas didnt initiate this latest attack, but the scale of it kind of allowed Israel to go a little more "all-out" like they are

    The thing with Iran is worrisome but right now they seem to going tit for tat, obviously if it spirals that is not good for anyone, especially the middle east region

    Its hard to see there ever being peace in the region, especially after these events which will make them hate each other even more

    @dubz4dummyz

     The origin is also Israel taking the opportunity to attack based on a SINGLE event in a long multi decade series of events. So Israel can say that Hamas is bent on destroying Israel and the event that started this was why they took action. Hamas would say that this event is one in a long series of events that they feel they are protecting their side from Israel and they have plenty of evidence to prove that.

    In reality to me the issue is mutual in origin..neither is the right good side, neither is innocent. The issue to me is that Gaza is controlled by Israel they do not have independence or safety from Israel so the fact that the area is similar to a third world country might sew the seeds of anger towards Israel given that the Palestinians rightly feel Israel was given superior land without their input and they feel that land is theirs. I see valid reasons for the basis of the conflict on their side.

    Israel is not orchestrating anything. They are reacting to Biden's blunders and appeasement of Iran, Hamas, and Houthis. Time to do what they need  to do to survive with Biden catering to those who would cut your throat given the chance.

    @UNIMAN

     So taking the opportunity to invade the area based on a terrible incident is a valid reason to you right? I think it was a terrible incident but how many lives have been taken because of that terrible event? And why was it not dealt with in a diplomatic way or in a contained way? No...Israel is pushing forward and offensively to all their enemies. I consider that orchestrating. I think  both sides can claim cause it is not one innocent party especially over the thousands of years of conflict.

    Great points UNIMAN. Just hope we can make it to a person that will lead and not from behind. Sad to watch all this unrest play out under Biden and the lack of any respect for the US any longer. What did Biden do today,,, put a lid on any comment like he usually does. called that one when Israel started bombing last night.

    Maybe they will report what flavor ice cream Joe had today.

    Nov. 5th cannot come fast enough to fix this horror show.

    The game of torture, slaughter, and beheading and then hiding behind and under civilians who support such acts is over.

    Time to end it. Iran helped in many ways I'm sure.

    Either let this game continue or stop it.

    War is HELL and I think a Trump Presidency will allow Israel to make the harder decisions to end it faster. Iran can only fund the terror if they have the funds. Cut off the money and they cannot pay for the terror.

    The prior administration showed what that looked like. Giving them billions and billions only allowed funding the terror again.

     It all starts with the leadership. If you only appease and never show strength, this is what you get. Wars, no respect for our borders, crime with no consequences and on and on. Sad state the nation is in right now and all we can do is vote for change and better days.

    speaker Mike Johnson claims 80% of the funds to Ukraine in this bill is ammo, weapons..etc  and that allows the US to replenish our stockpile with new.  If that is accurate then there is no reason to hold up that bill, and the 3 RINOS who want to oust Mr. Johnson will never be happy.  These bills really need to be separate in terms of the mass money involved, its reported Ukraine will be out of ammo by the end of April.  Even with this influx, Ukraine has no shot anymore and this is just delaying the obvious of Kiev being seized and Putin bordering Nato.... that's WW3.  Russia's war machine will not stop on this and how much money is the US going to future here?  Maybe NATO countries that are within serious reach as of right now could grow a sack and show some force, even if it is theatrics.  Either way it is going to be a Putin vs NATO showdown, just count the days

    I know Trump made sure they were paying the fair share. Seems it is that regions fight as much as ours and all want a victory.

    Go America! GO NATO troops and funding.

    @witswits

     I know you are in a bumping competition which is against the rules so let me make you aware of that and also reply to your humorous last message.

    Can you define how Trump in his term made sure THEY were paying their fair share and what that even means? Did Trump make himself head of NATO like his silly family did making an amateur Laura head of your party?

    This is not a competition of DNC vs RNC thread superiority, steer clear of bumping threads by replying with no content messages. Try being better than the other side not worse.

    BRUSSELS/PARIS, Feb 14 (Reuters) - NATO said on Wednesday that Europe was meeting an alliance spending target and the United States needed allies, days after former U.S. President Donald Trump suggested that Washington might not protect countries that did not spend enough.

    Those darn pesky facts again.
