That is not against the rules, except in a very, very subjective interpretation. If so, I would like for you to quote the exact rule that says you cannot do this. I have never seen you say something to the guys that are very obviously doing it to make sure their threads stay at the top. These often have little or no 'content'.
It is against the rules to post just emoticons, etc. to simply raise your post total. But there is nothing that says you cannot bump thread you want to maintain at the top.
Quite obviously he did not reply 'with no content'; there was content. But to say that 'content' was for that purpose only is too subjective to me.
I do not like it and think it is very juvenile and maybe there should be a rule about it -- if there were some way to truly determine intent.
I may not like it but I simply scroll down to a thread I am more interested in.

Only wish to debate and nothing more. If the Fubar/Star Trek/Zeus guy posts over and over to promote a thread, it is OK? I have not seen any warning to that guy and only to the right leaning posters that get boxed. Let us play fair on both sides and have a healthy debate.
Your call and if you need to box only the Trump guys, we understand and know exactly how Trump feels. It is what is being done to the 45th President as well. He is boxed daily but still "winning'" in all the swing States.
Go America!

10000% fact!
Why is it in one day the Fubah/Star Trek/Zeus guy pushes every far left topic to the top and nothing is done or moved. We have both sides posting but Fubar/Star Trek/Zeus seems to talk to himself over and over to top the board.
Let all play fair and post a great debate.

Post 252 and 253 are the root of the problem. You post to retaliate against what other people do and that is not following the guidelines. It is not your job to retaliate or say what you are doing is fair or not fair or what others are doing so you do something, that is not what we allow.
If someone is breaking the rules please report it and YOU are responsible for what YOU post, not because of what someone else does. This is not a thread competition and to you it is. Please stop from posting to compete against others.

Please read the guidelines and follow what they say. This forum is a breeding ground for garbage so please do all you can to keep the guidelines and rules, report if someone is breaking them and avoid combative interaction.
Mods have been around longer than you and seen more than you, he is breaking the rules by bumping threads to compete against the other side, he admits it and has admitted it in the past. Thanks for your concern.

The only reason you referenced his posts #252 and #253 is because he called their names out. He only did that because he was pointing out that those guys are doing what you claim he is doing is all.
What is the EXACT rule that you see as being broken by all of these guys 'bumping threads' as you see it?
If you were to post the 'rules' you see folks as breaking -- maybe they would be more aware of all of these 'rules'.
Like I said -- I do not like it, but really do not see anything wrong about it if they add some 'content' -- which he did. Unlike some of the cheerleader threads where there is just a high-fiving of some sort to 'bump a thread'.
I agree no one likes it and maybe there should be a rule against it. But how does a single person like you decide the intent behind someone's post.
You can clearly see the problem with that. I would not envy trying to determine that.

Simply asking why it is only one-sided. I get warned for posting in the far-left thread and I get boxed if I post in my threads for being honest. The goal posts move almost daily and if others can push the far FAR-left thread to the top with a few word responses, why are they not warned, moved or boxed.
If I was the only one asking this question, I would evaluate my actions and posts. Most left here from the unfairness. Why did you think I asked (was boxed) many times, "is ANY mod a Trump supporter". Just wanted fairness and someone to allow other views. You have to admit you are very anti-Trump and that is OK. Many that are still here are all on that side.
Best to you and any debate the Trump supporters are allowed. Watch the tread post after 30 min. and no right leaning post is allowed to remain at the top due to fubar/star trek/zues guy (just asking again about the obvious). How about a Dem Board and a Republican board. That would be interesting.
Thank you

Report messages that you think break the guidelines or rules, do not retaliate or be combative as a purpose for posting. You admitted it and have in the past, just steer completely clear of that and do not try to one-up the other side.
I think I have explained this more than enough, so I wont keep asking. It is obvious you cannot stop yourself from being annoyed by the other side, but you are required to do so and some members who are unable actually decide it is not worth breaking the rules and being angry so they do not post and skip it all together.

Also a Dem board and Republican board would make your job so much easier. This way the Trump worshipers could post away about any new sneaker release or 2nd edition Trump bible release and the three amigo could post away all day. You would get board from not having to scold all the trump supporters.
Hope you found humor in this and can laugh at the irony of trying to keep peace. Have a great day and please do not be the forth amigo. I enjoy reading your posts, do not agree on many but still enjoy them.

It is right here, repeated several times and for you to try and debate the concept is absurd. You know if someone is not adding value and is intentionally posting to provoke or retaliate we do NOT allow it. Dont act like you are not understanding because in reality if ANY sub section of this site needs extremely tight guidelines, even more than what is in the below url it is the POLTICS area-

Thanks again for that and trying to be as neutral as possible. I do not have to report others pushing the threads. It is so obvious as you can look in 10-15 min. and no positive Trump thread is allowed with-in the top 10 and it is the same guy(s) over and over.
Wish you had a Trump leaning mod. to help, but I understand.
Best to you

No sir -- I understand. It is simply not posted in there about not bumping threads.
This is in there:
Any threads in the forum which deteriorate to arguments between two or more users will be moved to the penalty box, or deleted at the discretion of our Moderators.
Any threads in the forum which deteriorate to arguments between two or more users will be moved to the penalty box, or deleted at the discretion of our Moderators.
If it is determined that you are posting emoticons for the purpose of increasing your post total,
If you notice a member behaving in a way that is a direct violation of the rules and spirit of the forum
Try to be civil! We know that this can be difficult if someone is being rude and disruptive.

So, while I agree with you it may not be a cool thing to do. I am sure they simply do it to irritate folks and to keep their threads up top -- I still cannot see where either side would be breaking a certain rule for doing it.
So, it would be very subjective, as I have said.
It will always come down to just your opinion; it is not a group of moderators deciding.
So, as I say, I do not envy the job you have.
I simply scroll down to a thread I am interested in.

How about a Dem board and a Republican board. That way the guys that post over and over to themselves can have that forum all to themselves and the other forum can have positive debate on what Trump is doing and going to do.
Where do we send this suggestion?

This is the very post you followed up with your reprimand to him.
He was simply replying to a post right above his and added 'content' about 'Trump making sure they were paying their fair share'.
Then you claim he was intentionally bumping the thread with no content. You can see how it would be hard to decide his 'intent'.

I am not for that. I am on other forums and some are that way. I do not like it.
Because I do not need cheerleaders and back and forth rah-rahs.
I would rather have discussions or arguments with someone I do not agree with or someone that see things differently.
Alas, on this forum there are not many.
@wallstreetcappers is one of the few that will engage. A few others try but get too easily frustrated and just go to ranting. But even though I disagree on nearly all of his political views, I prefer it that way.
You can always learn more from the other side this way -- even if the goal is not to try to 'convert' them.
I think it is better this way. Maybe you have to simply avoid the ones that you know will not/cannot engage is all.
I see your point; it is just not my preference.

Thanks for your input but that is not how it works. You can scroll along no problem but it is not your obligation to be responsible for member to member interactions. Read the below paragraph and let me add this as I said above..
You are not needing to be led by the nose and have a 50 page line item posting manual, the concept is to add value and be respectful, that is all you need to focus on. If you feel like scrolling along congrats and good for you but that is not my concern what you feel is proper and not.
It is not so difficult to understand even for you that the politics forum is THE most combative in the entire site, the rules and guidelines are to give the direct AND indirect expectations for all members. If the concept of being respectful, not retaliating and making personal remarks is not understood from reading the guidelines then I will state them DIRECTLY to you. This area of the site brings out the worst in people, if anything the standard of posting is higher here than anywhere else due to the inability of members to discuss politics and be respectful.

So, just to be clear -- it is not a 'rule' but a concept. On that I can agree. But it is your subjective opinion is all I am saying and not a certain rule.
It absolutely is your concern as a moderator, especially when you have told others to do this very thing if they do not like the postings, etc.

DIRECTLY to you.
I was not referring to 'being respectful or making personal attacks' -- just the 'RULE' on bumping threads.
even foryou
Always have to slide some unnecessary snide remark in. Not called for. It is just frustration because there is no rule against bumping threads, otherwise you could quote it and others would be in direct violation of it.
But, we all realize it is your job and I am glad you are the one trying to determine folk's intent behind posting.
But I agree it is not cool to simply keep bumping threads -- so, I am not disagreeing about that part.

Trump supporters are the ones boxed mainly, the other guy that pushes all the pro-Biden threads to the top, make most leave from the site due to it being so far left. It is fine as that poster will remain and most will move onto a forum that allows both sides to post. I did enjoy many that were willing to debate and I do understand Wallstreet does his best.
Again if a Trump Mod. was on the board, I think some things would be different and less of the one side would be boxed or all would be boxed.

While we were discussing the rules the three amigo moved all the pro-Biden threads to the top. LOL It is so obvious and I hope Wallstreet plays fair if he says you cannot bump threads by talking to yourself over and over.
Thanks for trying to clear this up. True debate is good. One sided and you learn nothing. Like a participation trophy.

A lot of folks get very upset when their point of view is not agreed upon. It is usually because they have started the conversation way down in the middle somewhere. You cannot discuss things like that.
You have to go to the point where you start to disagree -- that is where you enter the debate.
This is true on any issue -- but especially politically. Otherwise it devolves into a yelling match.
Overall, I think this forum is managed pretty well.
There are some forums where they let pretty much everything go and it is worse. Then there are some that right away block someone that is disparaging at all.
This, by and large, is a mix of that. Certainly it is not as technical or detailed as some of the others -- but it is mainly a sports forum. So, that is understood. Very few folks on here will have political, economic, or degrees of that sort. But if someone really is that interested, or that picky, they can go find those forums.
But overall, you find a varied amount of folks here and they have some broad ideas. But, some are not suited for discussion/debate --so, no problem, just engage with others that are.

My only point is that it is hard to really say that is their intent -- even if I think it is.
I like for the threads I am interested in to be found by me easily, but I do not bump them just to make sure.
I know it is funny and frustrating - but, you just have to accept it.
That is why I have always said the soccer forum is by far the best.
You see it in the NFL and others somewhat --but WSC is correct, the politics is by far the worst.
But politics is always a touchy subject -- that is why some people love it and some avoid it altogether.

You see it in the NFL and others somewhat --but WSC is correct, the politics is by far the worst.
But politics is always a touchy subject -- that is why some people love it and some avoid it altogether.
Thanks but you almost to a fault try and pick a fight with me, it is obvious you would try to debate a concept even though you really do understand and you do it just to try and be difficult.
Bumping threads IS breaking the rules when the intent is breaking the rules, so lets quit playing lawyer ball and understand that intent as he and others admit is the issue.
I think your biases make you intentionally combative when I know 100% you get the underlying concept and reason. I dont want to keep stating the same thing but again the politics forum is THE most difficult on the site, nothing even the penalty box is as difficult and the standards/guidelines/rules are for sure going to be tighter because members are at their worst in this area.
Lets move along, discussion with you never has a conclusion as you do not truly seek to have true discussion with me.
