1... Phillip Rivers grounds the ball.... all the time... he just doesn't get called.... he did it against the COLTS and if you disagree then I am definitely talking to a woman who doesnt' know the rules... (no offense to all the ladies that watch football)
2... Big Ben is not overrated.... he creates plays when most qbs would be sacked... he had the best rookie year that I've ever seen... and he has a superbowl ring.... and he plays hurt almost everytime he stepps on the field... Pitt Oline however, not that good...
3... Defenses win championships.... football 101.....
4... Who has put up 24 this year on Pitt at home????
5... How many points did SD put up against Pitt last outing?
Couldn't agree more. And look at the play of both of these quarterbacks last time these teams met. Rivers was 15-26 for 159 yards, 2 interceptions, and a huge fumble in the end zone that turned into a safety. That was Rivers worst game of the year. Ben actually had one of his best games of the year going 31-41 for 308 yards and no interceptions. San Diego's pass defense is awful. They're almost at the bottom of the league letting up 247 yards a game throught the air. That's more than Pittsburgh's Total D lets up (237 yards a game).
I also can't see how someone can say Ben is horrible when he's done more in his first 5 years than almost every quarterback in NFL history. He's got more wins in his first 5 years than any quarterback in NFL history, been to two AFC Championship games, and won a Super Bowl. Stop blaming him because the O-line is terrible and the running game hasn't gone anywhere this year.
Lastly, will people quit talking about how hot the Chargers are. As ncrum already pointed out their last 4 regular season games were against nobodies (OAK, KC, a struggling TAMPA, and DENVER at home). How many of those teams made the playoffs? ZERO. Their only good regular season win was at home against New England 30-10, but don't forget Pittsburgh destroyed New England at New England 33-10. Seriously, if Pittsburgh played San Diego's schedule this year they easily could have gone 15-1 or 14-2. Now San Diego has to travel across the country, into wintry conditions to play the best D in the NFL when they have no LT, a banged up Gates, Vincent just got his 2nd DUI, and a banged up Kaeding. People may laugh about Kaeding being hurt but Pittsburgh is the toughest place to kick field goals in the NFL. Add the field conditions and weather to his hurt groin and that is going to cause him some problems. I would say something about Norv Turner too but his playoff record isn't bad (4-2 overall, 3-1 with the Chargers).

People don't see it coming, but SD will upset Pitt this weekend, and they will be all over Big Ben, who could easily get rattled coming off the concusion. I know I'd blitz the crap out of him, especially with their weak O line. Don't bet against the best QB in the league right now. They can out up 21-24 pts, and that's all they'll need against this pathetic offense.

I CAN'T CONCENTRATE ON MY CAPPING WITH THIS AVATAR
3RD TIME QUOTING TO EXPLAIN THE IMPORTANCE OF CHANGING THAT AVATAR...
if your gay dude that's cool... but it's not when it affects my wallet.... change that before I blow all my picks this weekend lol

my apologies for the low blow charlie... i regreted it after I posted it...I just can't comprehend that Big Ben is awful....
there is a possibility of an upset... i mean it's only a 6 point line... and they SD defense is playing alot better....
but as far as the COLTS game.... it's one of those weird trends that SD always plays them tough.... when the COLTS were undefeated, Micheal Turner won that game.... last year Vinitari misses a 29 yarder..... Dallas Clark drops the famous ball to end the COLTS season... I've lost so much money on this matchup.... then I won taking the COLTS on the road this season but they only won by a few and I only won because they're pass D was awful and I took the COLT moneyline..... now they lose the coin toss, get penalized, and play terrible defense....
for some reason the Bolts have the Colts number.... I am not using that game in capping this game because the styles of play are so different between Pitt and the Colts.... plus the history... it's one of those weird matchups..... like Miami always gave Tom Brady problems when they always sucked lol.... or how about the Colts problem beating Houston a few years ago when the COLTS were dominant and the Texans were off the map.....
I think given the conditions, and the teams identities, this game is much more different that the games the Colts won down the stretch.... they havn't really beaten a SMASH MOUTH football team on their run.....
GL TO ALL...
PITT ML will be my play

You're right it was a huge win for the Bolts. But it didn't come without consequences. They lost LT, Kaeding got hurt, and the more Gates plays the more beat up he gets. I can't see Scifres doing what he did last week again, not in Pittsburgh at least. I'm telling you Western PA has been getting hammered with snow. That field is going to be awful and the wind is going to play a huge part in this game. And don't get too caught up in this winning streak. The Chargers didn't play anyone before Indy, had lost 3 in a row before winning 5 straight and are due for a let down game. Don't forget Pittsburgh was also on a 5 game winning streak before they went into Tennessee and got blown out.
I think a lot of the reason Rivers is the best QB in the league right now is because of San Diego's schedule. 8 of Pittsburgh's 16 games have been against teams ranked in the top 10 in the league in total D. That's unheard of. 10 of their games were against teams in the top 12 in the league in total D. You saw what happened to Rivers last time he played a defense like Pittsburgh's.
Plus Rivers didn't have a good game last week. He was badly outplayed by Peyton. Look at the numbers. Rivers was 20-36 for 217 yards and 0 touchdowns and 1 interception for a QB rating of 61.9. He was also sacked 4 times. Peyton was 25-42 for 310 yards with 1 touchdown 0 interceptions for a QB rating of 90.4. If Indy can get to Rivers 4 times Pittsburgh should get to him at least 6. Pitt will stop the run early and force Rivers to throw into that #1 ranked pass defense. And San Diego may have only lost 11-10 last game but everyone knows that the real final should have been at least 18-10.
Agree to disagree I guess. The more I look at this game and the weather conditions the more I like the Under and Pittsburgh.
