I did a little more research on Merwe and it turns out he played Becker a few years ago during college and beat him. That's why I hate these small tourneys.. Nobody really gives a shit. There's a reason why Fed is such a heavy favorite.. even though Nadal is ranked #1 and has beaten Federer more times.. Normally Nadal would be favored here... Good Luck either way. replied to heart says federer, head says nadal in Tennis Not a guarantee but I'm pretty confident Federer wins this one. As a matter of fact, I think he'll take it without too much trouble. It's not because Nadal is tired. I think he's recovered already.. He's had almost 48hrs. These professional athletes have the best helpers to get them ready. Federer has always had a hard time with Nadal hitting to his backhand. I think Federer figures it out early. I have not been impressed with Nadal's game in this tournament. I know Verdasco is RED HOT right now but the old Nadal would have taken him out easily. Nadal will not do well this year. Players like Verdasco, Tsonga, Gasquet, etc. will give him trouble.
