I do follow some regression models like you but sometimes, esp. with pitchers in baseball the market is responding to situations which some recent performances have clarified. Pitchers , even medicore ones, can be very streaky. Sharps can move a line 20+cents based on the Ump/pitcher relationship and without digging deep 1 can confuse these moves with public $$ following a good start Ex T Glavine piching to certain umps with huge strikzones.
