Looks pretty good so far. Not sure what they were thinking. Maybe they can expense all the losses on this to advertising instead of PnL. |

I put $50 on it. Why not? Nobody could talk me out of it.

Fanduel boosting Bama ML from -340 to -110. Max wager of $50. Is this free money or am I missing something? |

@begginerboy This is a logical fallacy. Shanahan has great running schemes, but what's the average record in the NFL when teams run the ball that much? And how many attempts are because they are already winning? Why don't teams run the ball every play if they are 21-4 when running that much? |

5 goals (so far) in this 3rd period. |

Thinking the opposite with the Hawks. They have been victim of some pretty bad blown calls and still been in the game. The real concern is their disaster of a power play. Either way glad it's the late game so maybe I don't have to touch it. |

Refs disallowed a Caggiula goal late because of a hand pass, but they didn't blow the play dead right away and admitted to Toews they screwed it up. Replays showed Maata get his stick on the puck too. |

Might I ask what spread you came up with? I don't see how you could have come up with Saints -10. They have no running game, a beat up D, and their top 2 WRs are out. Their kicker is out too, for that matter. People don't realize but the Bears are faster on turf than they are at Soldier Field. I think Olin Kreutz is going to get pummeled too and I'm looking forward to it. Watch the last play in the NO @ GB game and find Olin. It isn't hard. The ball was snapped at the 1 yard line and when the whistle blows he is standing at the 4 yard line, by himself. I would agree with the 'too good to be true' facet, but this one is public-heavy on the Saints from what I gather. I'm not touching it, personally, because it is early in the season and there are a lot of question marks going into this for both sides. |

W: GB: Green Bay still reeling from their early season injuries gave up 18 penalties for 150 yards and still only lost by 3. GB just committed all those penalties regardless of what the Bears did? It's purely coincidence that all of Rodgers' worst games are against the Bears. The Bears are lucky he is always off when they play the same, simple defense every time. W: Minnesota: Favre threw 3 INTs, as he did every game last year. You say this like there wasn't a defense on the field and just stationary players and Favre fucked up. INTs don't just happen. Adrian Peterson was in. W: @Detroit: Facing detroit with Drew Stanton as QB, another lucky break for them. Still had to come from behind in the 4th. Why was Stanton in? Oh yeah, Julius Peppers broke Stafford's shoulder... W: @Minnesota: Favre went out early and Joe Webb took over. Oh yeah, Adrian Peterson was out. Favre went out early? He just didn't have it and chose to go out early? He didn't get pummeled or anything, did he? Guess what, genius? The NFL is making a new rule. At the end of the year, they are going to review all the games and ignore wins and losses and instead set the playoffs based on shoulda's and coulda's and almost wons. It is stupid to go through the schedule with your bias and look at what everyone else did to contribute to their team losing to the Bears as opposed to looking at what the Bears did to win. You don't just fall ass-backwards into 11 wins, a division championship (the division the Super Bowl champs are in, no less), a top 5 defense, and the NFC #2 seed in the NFL. I could argue that the Packers aren't as good as people say because Cutler "went out" in the NFC title game and they were lucky to play a 3rd stringer. I don't though, because it isn't like Cutler slipped on some ice or tripped coming out of the locker room. He got hurt as a result of getting hit... by the Packers. Much like Favre and Stafford "went out." You say went out like it's voluntary. It isn't. They were forced out by the Bears. You refer to INTs by the opposition like they're voluntary and not forced. Lose the bias and pick up some logic and we'll talk. |

I do expect the Bulls to get every call in game 4 so the league can milk this series for 6 or 7 games so they can fund the WNBA another year...

The whole thing.. Then come and say shit.. You'll have nothing.. All you haters are walking on air.. You've got no base of reality.. Beefs with the video: Clip 1: Keith tripped him with his skates. It looks a lot worse, like he hits him with his stick and that knocks him over... Sedin flops worse than Ron Artest. Clip 2: The officials arm is already up as the clip is starting so you really can't conclude anything. Clip 3: None of the guys changing touched the puck. There is a grace period for players to get on and off the ice. Nobody right off the bench touches it and nobody going off does. Clip 5?: Goalie interference is always a gray area. Hossa got hosed on one last year that stands out in my mind very vividly. The Hansen boarding penalty was called because they were chasing the puck for icing and he didn't play the puck. A few years ago this would have been a no call but player safety has become more of a concern these days. Not sure why the penalty shot call is on there... John Scott got away with one, yes. When these happen in the game the commentators, at least local, do a good job explaining why it's a penalty. At least Eddie O does. Steve Konroyd is an ass. Bieksa should ask Rafi why no penalty got called on that hit. Why is a clip of the refs explaining the 10 minute overtime shovel crew rule to Sedin bad officiating? Some clips are valid arguments, but a 6 minute video is pushing it. |

Idiots...
In the regular season Vancouver had 348 minor penalties. Chicago had 265. Vancouver had 943 PIM and Chicago had 742, 3rd least in the league. Vancouver averaged 11.5 PIM/game. Chicago averaged 9.05. Multiplying both by 6 gives us 54.3 for the Hawks and 69 for Vancouver, a difference of 15 PIM, or 7.5 minors. Maybe Vancouver should stop committing penalties like they did all year. Maybe Chicago is actually good at not committing penalties, like they were all year... I have seen nothing but cry babies in this thread and haven't seen one person actually say anything meaningful. |

I guess what I want to know big picture is this:
Can someone who can say with a straight face that there is no way games in the playoffs are manipulated by officials tell me what they think of the Crawford call above or the Lakers/Kings game 6 a few years back. How do you explain it as someone who thinks threads and bettors who question the integrity of the league are ST00P!D. |

Can someone tell me this was because being an NBA ref is hard work? Situation: Blazers/Suns Playoff game. Portland down 7 but gaining momentum and Joe Crawford calls a phantom foul and puts Steve Nash on the line while sending Marcus Camby to the bench. Watch Crawford explain the foul to the coach and then tell Nash that he has to shoot because Nash doesn't even think he has to shoot. How can a team be 2-14 when a certain official is calling their games? How can that possibly occur in a game that is so unpredictable? |
