FIRST OF ALL...before you waste time reading 200 rants against Calvin Ayre, remember this is only about another carefully planned U.S. DOJ message against the "illegal U.S. offshore industry" and it's biggest name. How the "Al Capone" of the Offshore industry gave the finger to the Feds for so many years. Unless you have $$ in a BoDog/Bovada account, nobody would really care whether it was Calvin Ayre or Calvin Klein being indicted. Albert Einstein once said: " Insanity is doing the same thing over & over again expecting different results." POINT: Until the U.S. passes legislation to LEGALIZE AND REGULATE ONLINE WAGERING your money always has and always will be at huge risk. The smart thing is evaluating where is the least possible risk and who are the most reliable offshore books under current conditions. But NO guarantees whatsoever! And for you "LOCALS" guys..don't think a local Calvin can't stiff you forever anytime as well. |

Actually...there IS an advantage of joining BoDog...Uhh BOVADA. MAKE THOSE "SHITTY LINES" WORK TO YOUR ADVANTAGE 1. Everyone should know that you should join at least (3) books for odds comparison and account insurance purposes. 2. Everyone knows that the public always leans on favorites. 3. Everyone knows that very often BoDog piles that extra 1/2 point to 1 full point or perhaps more on the favorite. If you like the dog....you know where to go...to the BoDog. Damn...I mean BO-VADA |

Yes. This all concerns me. Not only BoDog...excuse me BOVADA. But the rest of the online wagering industry as well. Don't want to make this sound like an Apocolypse or anything BUT watch out for the end of the football season. Another book or two is likely to take the money and run. It's becoming a sad trend. Guess that's for another post. |

Thanks for the input earthWake. Yeah..I agree. Like adjusting slot % payoffs, these books are always scheming ways to add house advantages. If we EVER get U.S online legalization &.regulation we might see some fairness and the beginning of legit competition on both sides. Glad I found that OSGA link. I wouldn't expect BoDog, excuse me "Bovada" from announcing that information on their next press release. Wouldn't expect to see Calvin Ayre showing up at any U.S. airport anytime soon either. Bovada...sounds like a new mens cologne or a car. |

Does anybody have any further information about BO DOG CHANGING THEIR NAME AGAIN? From what I've just read on OSGA, this time it seems more than another domain change. I guess it's OK. But if you're used to eating Campbell's Soup for years do you want to see Sampbell's appear on the can? This makes me nervous. I don't want to wake up on New Year Day and learn "this dog won't hunt"...with my $$. Anyway...will leave you the info I just picked up BELOW. https://www.osga.com/wordpress/offshore-insiders/what-happened-to-bodog.html I'm sure we'll be hearing more about this with the usual political correct statement from them.. But in the meantime, if anyone else has more reassuring news, please pass it on, thanks.

This year's BEST BET is it will pass this November with a substantial "YES" vote. Multi-million dollar question: Will NJ Governor look past his political future and his conservative Republican buddies and do the right thing in signing legislation to pass bill for a state desperate to raise revenue. Just ask your friends in NJ, who pay the highest property taxes in the USA and are still paying other fees and taxes for 75 years of corruption. SPORTS BETTING IN NJ WILL HAPPEN. Just a matter of when.... Here's hoping all your bets cover today and we all live to see ONLINE WAGERING in NJ as well.

Have 2 agree. What's the point of depositing $25. Besides..it might cost you $25 to do it!! MORE IMPORTANT...be careful of these books and their offers of a "FREE" $25-$100" to pull you in ESPECIALLY during August sign-up football season. Read a decent sign-up offer menu on OSGA.com. Laid out the good, bad and the ugly. Regardless of bet size, I'm more focused on who is going to be around offshore in February 2012 to potentially collect. Current odds 50-1 I'll live to see Sports Betting legalized in the USA. Then we won't worry about where to deposit that 25 bucks.

Like everyone else I'm sad, disappointed & frustrated BUT NOT SURPRISED that two of the best books in the industry reported this awful news. The Greek is/was my primary place . WHAT'S NEXT?? I asked the The OSGA that question www.osga.com to calm down and feel better about something. They told me all $ is safe and Heritage is a very solid, respected book. Which is great but can't make me feel better about wanting to wipe the smile off the DOJ face for intimidating all these books. Can't say I blame The Greek or BetJamaica if I was faced with the same current huge processing predicamennt. Same rules apply now more than ever!! Join THREE books to spread your money around and shop for best odds. |

The more sportsbooks and poker sites are indicted, the more opportunites are created for the local bookie business to flourish. Can the morons who run Federal & State Government read a book on Prohibition and figure it out? With 500 LEGALIZED and TAXED lottery games..don't think we have numbers rackets anymore? |

Yes. My friend Mike got a referred BoS check last week for a little over $100. Bittersweet considering it's only about 5% of what was owed to him. He checked with Jim from The OSGA who gave him the rest of the details about the "surprise" dispersal. www.osga.com Wonder if Santa Claus will be delivering anything this Xmas for BetEd victims?

It didn't take long Florida too long to join the dance. A new bill was introduced last week to have the FL poker rooms create their own legal online website with pari-mutuel online horse racing on the bill as a feature. Ironically...PokerStars and Full Tilt are the major ones opposing it. They don't want to get cut out of the action. Evidently, FL is a Top 3 US market. And of course The Seminole Tribe will always have their huge piece of the action and say in the matter. So much riding on New Jersey Governor Christie's ink. Stand by.. |

NOT A PRO-GOVERNMENT GUY by any means but someone can make a strong point why this instance of MAKING US WAGERING LEGAL & REGULATED is a good thing. Rather give up" some piece of the pie" than have the whole pie stolen from me without any US legal recourse. 1. Despite the tax cut-out you WILL be assured your online wagering money is safe and all winnings will be distributed on-time. 2. Unlike current options, the intended daily credit and play maximums will likely keep out of control players within their means. However, I anticipate greed will quickly kill that rule similar to legal poker buy-ins in the US. 3. Unlike a bookie, don't think licensed companies will threaten to break your legs. Just ruin your credit rating Again, check out the online wagering survey, it kind of summarizes many of the issues on the table. It's amazing how many states are now starting to write bills to raise tax money. Big headlines are coming very soon. The online wagering bill is sitting on Governor Christie's (New Jersey) desk to sign or not sign. If he says YES..lookout for everyone else to jump on the ship.

OK BK..do agree with some of the points you make. But just pointing out that being pro-active surely (with answering surveys, writing to encourage legislation) etc. will help to eventually help to bring online gambling (in whatever form) to the US. Yes, I don't agree with a few of the questions as well but I don't with any survey I take whether it's about gambling or restaurants. I didn't feel incriminated though. The point is just is the opposite...to help make it LEGAL and not keep the government from making us feel like criminals as we do now. As for the tax issue, that is a concrete reality. That's why and the only reason online wagering will be legalized in the US. A fact of life. The one HUGE ISSUE is you won't have to worry that Harrah's, Boyd Gaming, whatever...would runaway with your winnings OR you won't be able to hire legal counsel to represent you. Uhh..ask the players still stinging from Bet On Sports or anyone else waiting a bit too long for their check to arrive, cash a bad sportsbook check at the bank, etc. You get the idea. Believe me...a legal US book will bring incentives and bonuses way beyond anything that poorly exists today. Bookies will never go out of business but hopefully less people will get hurt because of the security and convenience of a US legislated business. Too bad they'll always have the edge extending "credit" people don't have to lose. Sorry for getting a bit defensive...just trying to help the cause. And applause to New Jersey. And to anyone reading this...get involved in any way you can to help bring a safer, secure and legal online wagering system to the US.

OK guys...knock yourself out. Sit back & wait for your next check to arrive from Off Shore or wait IF IT MIGHT NEVER ARRIVE. I'll spend the time trying to do anything I can to TRY making online wagering LEGAL in the USA. Whether it's answering a survey, writing a congressman, whatever. At least it's an effort. Check out the army of complaints. Don't think anyone overseas has that daily worry. Or I'll spend my time reading Playboy. That's where we started. Or maybe working. Not wasting my life posting on a website 4,000 times. That accomplishes nothing & smells really bad. |

The only question is WHEN it will happen and HOW it will happen. Other states are watching NJ very closely now to learn the best way to position their approach. Yes..you are correct. The online wagering sports bill will be on the ballot this November. An enormous YES response will be significant & gain political attention. Part of the reason why spreading the word IS IMPORTANT. It won't be easy but the smart money is surely not betting against it right now.

Wish I wasn't so cynical & jealous about "European Betting Rules". BUT with NEW JERSEY, and maybe CA, FL, etc. now making strides the heavens may open this year to finally see legalized, regulated online gambling in the USA. CHECK OUT THIS ONLINE WAGERING SURVEY I found about a week ago. Didn't have to give my name out or anything (just an email address) and got a chance to win a big screen HDTV for taking it. Think there's a few days left. It's pretty interesting...took me about 5 minutes or so & made me think about a few things for the future. Check it out... As the PBY article points out, no doubt the NFL, also MLB and their powerhouse Washington lobbyists are & will always be there to kill any legislation. Anyway, somehow we just have do something, anything to make a change. Take a survey, write a congressman. DO SOMETHING & GET INVOLVED. Just tired of wondering IF I will get paid, when I will get paid etc. |

Yes. State legislation (or intrastate wagering) where only bettors addressed in that state only will be allowed to bet. That's the only initial hope at this point. Federal bills are virtually dead with a changing Republican Congress in power and Barney Frank departing his Finance Chairman post. Interesting...in the survey there's one question asking you if you'd consider moving to bet legally. Hmmmm.... If NJ does somehow gets it done it opens up the door for many other states waiting in the wings...just like the lottery many years ago. That's why I mentioned it's IMPORTANT to do something, anything to change our rights!! Write your congressman, take the survey, GET INVOLVED. Maybe one survey taken, one letter, one vote, whatever makes the difference everywhere soon. OK...I'm off my soapbox now. Just think it means a lot more overall than picking Packers/Steelers -2.5. |

I do agree with the disappointment of Delaware "soft-core sports betting". Keep in mind...even the GOVERNOR OF DELAWARE lobbied to have full sports betting. It was the NFL and their insider lobbyists that were successful putting the crappy parlay compromise into play. **BUT..that was right in the middle of a new presidential election. NOW it's in desperate states hands (like New Jersey) to get something done. And yes...the NFL and MLB will show up again trying to hurt efforts. Just thought WE GOTTA GET INVOLVED somehow to help. Look at how far the tea party had an effect? Check out this online wagering survey & contest. I think it ends on January 31st. Glad to see other people are getting on the bandwagon too. Watch how long the damn offshore books take to pay after the Super Bowl. I'm not giving up hope!! |
