A great bunt is almost as exciting as a homerun... Maybe more now, with the supersaturation of homeruns throughout baseball. (Wonder what the ratio is of bunt singles to HR)? Used to be, you knew who had homerun potential in the lineup, and you'd get excited at the opportunity to see one leave the yard. Now anybody holding a bat can pop one because of the juiced ball. Couldn't grip the ball in the 30 degree cold rain vs. ATL, and had similar problems in Colorado. Maybe I'm maki g excuses for him, but aside from a rough couple of 5th innings, he hasn't pitched poorly. Its pretty cold out here now, but nowhere near those 2 games. They're 2-3 in their last 5 games, while averaging only 2.4 runs per game. The offensive explosions they had earlier (4 big games), were all against pitchers 25 years old or less. None of which are in the same breath as Yu Darvish, who has never faced Atlanta (not sure who has the advantage in that scenario, but I'd bet it's for the pitchers) Not sure how you calculated a %45 chance for Atlanta (maybe some computer algorithms) but good luck to you if you bet it. replied to Trust the Cubs RL tonight? in MLB Betting I can't trust Cubs Runline (-1.5) at all right now... They simply can't keep the line moving. All or nothing guys like Schwarber, Heyward, Rizzo, Russell and Baez aren't getting on base enough to put pressure on the opposing pitcher, and strikeout far to often, that relieves pressure from opposing defenses. Last year, Fowler, Zobrist, Bryant and Rizzo all had near .400 on base %, which meant the pitcher was stressed from the 1st inning through the entire game. Additionally, defenses were constantly shifting and had to worry about the hit and run With men on base all game. So far this season, with the 15th ranked OBP, 28th ranked BA, and 23rd ranked slugging, the Numerically, the Cubs are just too volatile to trust to cover a Runline, in my opinion. Can the Cubs explode for 4 homeruns and win 10-2...? Of course! And I hope they do! But there's no way I could lay 1.5, AT HOME, to - odds Good luck if you play it! Go Cubs!
