My analysis
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor is playing at an MVP level right now. He hit two home runs on Saturday night to bring his season total to 27 — 17 in 95 games before the All-Star break and 10 in just 35 games since. The switch-hitter is now batting .310 (46-for-148) with eight doubles, one triple, and those 10 round-trippers since the break.

Lindor is now riding a five-game hitting streak (9-for-18) with seven of those hits going for extra bases. He’s gone Over 1.5 total bases in each of those five games and seven of his last nine contests. Dating back to August 7, Lindor has 2+ TB in 13 of 17 games overall.

The shortstop has been doing it from both sides of the plate as well, as shown by one dinger from each side on Saturday night. Lindor is batting .270 vs. RHP and .263 vs. LHP.

He's quite familiar with Sunday’s starter, Martin Perez. The two had some meetings when they both played in the AL Central and they meet again on Sunday in San Diego. Lindor is 7-for-17 (.412) with a double against him in his career.

After a poor start to the season, Lindor is becoming the star the Mets need to stay in the playoff race. He hit .197 in April and just .263 in May. Since then, however, Lindor hit .290 in June, .274 in July, and is hitting .340 in August (32-for-94). Add in his history against Perez, a reasonable -105 price, and his hot streak and this is an easy add to the betting card.

Mets vs Padres same-game parlay (SGP)

Francisco Lindor 2+ total bases

Francisco Lindor 1+ runs

Padres moneyline

Lindor leads off for the Mets and he’s scored a run more often than not this season on top of scoring in nine of his last 12 games as well.

However, we’re going with the Padres to win this game, which takes this +150 parlay to +500. Mets starter Jose Quintana has struggled recently while the San Diego Padres have won all four of Perez's starts since acquiring him from Pittsburgh.
