The Yankees have the highest-scoring team in the AL and my favorite MLB player props for today are betting on one of their best players to plate a run.
See why I'm also backing Blue Jays righty Bowden Francis and Giants outfielder Michael Conforto with my best free MLB picks for Tuesday, September 24.
MLB props for September 24
- Soto Over 0.5 runs scored (-125 at bet365)
- Francis Under 2.5 earned runs allowed (-150 at DraftKings)
- Conforto 2+ total bases (+145 at DraftKings)
Today’s best MLB props
Prop bet #1: Juan Soto Over 0.5 runs scored
Juan Soto has been fantastic in his first season with the New York Yankees, slashing .287/.418/.572 while ranking second in the majors with 124 runs in 152 games.
Soto excels with the platoon advantage, slugging .580 against right-handed pitchers, and the Baltimore Orioles will send righty Dean Kremer to the mound tonight. Kremer has a 4.19 ERA in 23 starts this year and has extreme platoon splits, allowing left-handed batters to slug .413 with an on-base percentage of .319.
Kremer has been struggling with his control while Soto is second in the majors in walks, so the Yankees All-Star has a strong chance of getting on base tonight. With MVP favorite Aaron Judge and slugger Giancarlo Stanton batting just behind him in the lineup, my MLB picks think there's a good chance he'll end up scoring.
Prop bet #2: Bowden Francis Under 2.5 earned runs allowed
The Boston Red Sox were red-hot at the plate coming out of the All-Star break but they've cooled off faster than a Canadian autumn. The BoSox are batting just .220 while ranking 26th in the majors in OPS (.653) over the last 30 days, and today they're in Toronto to face the Jays and starter Bowden Francis.
Francis has impressed since becoming a full-time starter in early August, pitching to a 1.67 ERA with an OBA of .115 across eight starts. The Jays righty faced the Red Sox at Fenway last month, holding them to just one hit across seven innings of shutout ball.
Boston's lineup has plenty of left-handed hitters but Francis has excellent reverse splits, limiting lefties to an OPS of .636. With Boston's top hitter Rafael Devers on the IL and Francis allowing fewer than 2.5 earned runs in seven of his last eight starts, take the Under.
Prop bet #3: Michael Conforto 2+ total bases
Michael Conforto is slugging .447 this season and he hits significantly better away from home, raising that number to .527 on the road. He's also been bumped up his production over the last couple of months, slashing .265/.329/.544 with 74 total bases over his last 40 games.
Today Conforto and the San Francisco Giants are at hitter-friendly Chase Field with the Arizona Diamondbacks sending Brandon Pfaadt to the mound. Pfaadt has a 5.04 ERA with an OBA of .274 in 14 starts at home.
Pfaadt also struggles against left-handed batters, allowing them to slug .457. Conforto will have the platoon advantage against Pfaadt and has gone 2-for-5 with a homer against him in his career.
