My analysis
For the third season in a row, the Greek Freak is averaging better than 30 points per game. He’s putting up a career-high and NBA second-best 31.4 ppg, yet his scoring line is set at just 29.5 tonight. Giannis Antetokounmpo has averaged just over 28 points in January, and tonight’s matchup offers a perfect opportunity to buy the dip.
Giannis has averaged 27.9 points per game on the road compared to 33.9 at Fiserv Forum. He’s hit the Over on this line in 22 of 34 games overall, including 15 of 20 at home. That latter mark is good for 75%, making this prop a value at -120 odds.
Over the last four seasons, Antetokounmpo has averaged 29.6 points against the Philadelphia 76ers across 11 matchups. He’s posted 28.7 in six road games and 30.8 in five home games in that span. Of those five games, Antetokounmpo has hit the Over four times.
Tonight’s matchup with the Sixers isn’t one to fear. Philly’s frontcourt will be missing Joel Embiid once again, leaving an exploitable matchup in the paint.
The Sixers have allowed 117 points per game across their last 10, good for 10th-most in the Association. Philly has also allowed opponents to shoot the highest FG% in the NBA in that span at a generous 51.8%.
The 76ers have surrendered 12.6 offensive rebounds over the last 10, good for ninth-most. That gives Antetokounmpo a golden opportunity to rack up second-chance points, of which Philly has given up the 11th-most over their last five.
Giannis leads the NBA in transition points per game at 8.2. Over the last five, the Sixers have allowed the seventh-most points off of turnovers and the 10th-most fastbreak points. That boosts Antetokounmpo’s odds to score at least 30 tonight.
I’m hammering the Over on this modest line, and I expect the Greek Freak to enjoy a strong scoring performance at home.

Despite using different lineup combinations seemingly every night, the Sixers have found ways to score points. Tyrese Maxey has led the team comfortably in scoring sans Embiid, and guys like Ricky Council IV and Kelly Oubre Jr. can get a bucket when needed.
The Sixers have hit the Over in three of five, and the Bucks have done it in five straight. The Sixers are 11-8-2 to the Over on the road this season, including a 3-1 mark as double-digit underdogs.
The 76ers have struggled to stay healthy this season, and Embiid remains out indefinitely. Paul George sat Saturday but may be back for the second leg of this weekend’s back-to-back set. Philly could have two of its Big 3 available for Sunday’s clash with Milwaukee but, even so, this is a talent mismatch that favors the home team.
The Sixers are just 3-8-1 ATS as road dogs and 1-3 as double-digit dogs. The Milwaukee Bucks won the first head-to-head matchup of the season by 15 points at Philly, and I expect them to take this one handily at home.
