The Philadelphia 76ers snapped a seven-game skid with a shocking win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday, and they’ll look to keep rolling with a trip to the Windy City and a matchup with the Bulls on Saturday.
My 76ers vs. Bulls predictions forgo a conservative approach in favor of two plus-money player props.
Read my NBA picks to see why you should bet the Over on combo props from Josh Giddey and Tyrese Maxey in what should be a high-scoring affair.
76ers vs Bulls prediction
My best bet
Josh Giddey triple-double (+1100 at bet365)
My analysis
Josh Giddey’s points, rebounds, and assists line is set at a modest 29.5, and if you’re not in the mood for a risky wager, I’d recommend taking the Over at -115. If you’re looking for a little excitement with a nice potential payout, I’d go with the triple-double.
Giddey has been solid in his first season with the Chicago Bulls, enjoying a resurgent season after a disappointing final campaign with OKC. The Australian point forward has averaged 12.5 points, 8.7 rebounds and 7.4 dimes at home compared to just 10.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.8 assists on the road. He’s positioned nicely to stuff the stat sheet tonight at United Center.
Over his last 14 games, Giddey’s playing time has increased to 30.8 minutes, and he’s averaged 10.7 points, 9.4 rebounds and 6.0 assists. In that span, Giddey has posted eight double-doubles and one triple-double while coming within three counting stats of a triple-double in five outings.
Giddey has played at least 34 minutes in two straight while averaging 17.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and six assists. Ayo Dosunmu is questionable, and Coby White will be sidelined for a third straight contest. In five games without White, Giddey has averaged 14.8 points, 9.8 rebounds and 6.8 assists, posting four double-doubles and one triple-double.
Giddey finished with a 9/7/11 line in his first matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers this season, and I expect him to play even better in this one for the shorthanded Bulls. Over the last seven, no team has allowed more points and assists than the 76ers, and Philly ranks 15th in rebounds allowed. This is a tremendous matchup for Giddey. He’s in line for big minutes and usage against a flailing defense. I’m all-in on this +1100 prop!
76ers vs Bulls same-game parlay
Over the last seven games, the Sixers and Bulls rank in the top-8 in most points allowed to opponents. In that span, they’ve combined to allow 239.9 points while each ranking in the bottom-8 in defensive rating. The Sixers have hit the Over in five of six and in 24 of 42 games this season. Neither team has played much defense over the last two weeks, so I’ll take the Over here.
Tyrese Maxey has averaged a healthy 30.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 7.3 dimes across his last nine outings. Over the last seven, Chicago has allowed opposing point guards to average 29.3 points, 78 rebounds and 10.1 assists. Maxey’s only triple-double of the season came against Chicago, where he handed out a season-high 14 dimes. He’s recorded seven triple-doubles this season, including four with Joel Embiid sidelined.
I expect him to rack up counting stats at an elite level in this one, and I’m taking the double-double as another plus-money wager rolled into this three-leg parlay. His PRAs line is set at 39.5 for -115 odds, and the Over offers a nice option for those looking to mitigate risk.
