Bucks vs Kings Odds, Picks, and Predictions Tonight: Kings Ransom

Doc Rivers' impact as Milwaukee's head coach has been less than impressive thus far, and we don't like the veteran coach's chances of improving his record against De'Aaron Fox & Co. tonight. Read more in our Bucks vs. Kings betting picks.

Bucks vs Kings predictions

The Milwaukee Bucks have had a rollercoaster of a season, and that has been no different as of late. After Doc Rivers took over as the head coach, the Bucks went on an immediate skid, losing five of their first six games and seven of their first nine.

And just as quickly as everyone panicked during that stretch, everyone flipped their tune once the Bucks rattled off six straight wins. However, within that stretch were some wins that shouldn't have caused such optimism, as three wins against the Hornets in as many weeks is hardly anything to get excited about.

Despite the iffy results at best along the way, much was made of the Bucks' defensive improvement at times. They ranked as high as third in defensive rating at one point since Rivers' hiring, but have since slipped to 11th.

Much was also made about former head coach Adrian Griffin's clashes with the players regarding offensive philosophies as well, yet the Bucks ranked second in offensive rating prior to Rivers taking over.

Despite their incredible win-loss record, the Bucks are overvalued in the market. They possess the league's fourth-lowest cover rate and the hiring of Doc hasn't created any kind of sizable advantage on that front, seeing that they are dead even against the spread since his hiring.

Take the Sacramento Kings to take care of business on home floor.

My best bet: Kings -1 (-108 at DraftKings)

Bucks vs Kings same-game parlay

Kings -1

De'Aaron Fox Over 28.5 points

Brook Lopez Under 10.5 points

When building out a same-game parlay for tonight's matchup, there are a few soft spots to attack. The Bucks have allowed 26.2 points allowed to opposing point guards this season, good for the third-worst mark, trailing only the Pistons and Spurs.

De'Aaron Fox is coming off a muted performance by his standards, putting up just 18 points in a loss to the Rockets on Sunday. However, before that, he had averaged 31.9 points on 51.7% shooting in the previous eight games. I expect the Kings star point guard to return to that form tonight.

Another area to attack in this matchup is the Kings' ability to defend the paint and opposing centers. Their 20.4 points allowed to opposing centers is the third-best mark on the season, which may spell trouble for Brook Lopez.

Some may say Lopez is an exception to most centers as he doubles as a very potent 3-point threat, but the Kings have allowed the third-fewest threes made per game to the position.

Bucks vs Kings spread and Over/Under analysis

As mentioned previously, the Bucks have been one of the worst teams against the spread this year. Their 28-36-1 record is good for just a 43.8% cover rate, the fourth-worst mark in the league.

The Kings are dead even at 31-31-1 ATS this year, and despite a more than respectable 17-12 win-loss record at home, they are an abysmal 11-18 in that split — good for the fifth-lowest cover rate in that split.

They are, however, a team that consistently edges out games that are projected to be close. In games where they have been the favorite or underdog by less than two points, they have gone 9-2 straight up.

The Bucks have played slightly to the Under this year, going 33-31-1 that way this year. However, on the road, they have been a bit stronger to the Under, going 19-13-1 which is the sixth-best mark in that split. More importantly, however, the Bucks have gone 16-3 to the Under since Doc Rivers has taken over as head coach.

Sacramento has gone 32-28-3 to the Over this year which may not seem of note at first, but that 53.3% rate is good for the fifth-highest mark on the year. At home, the Kings have gone a disproportionate 19-9-1 O/U (67.9%), which is 7% higher than the next-best mark.
