My analysis
I took the Over on Austin Reaves’ combo prop last night when the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Trail Blazers, and I’m going back to the well.
Reaves’ PRA line was set at 29.5 for -115 odds last night, and it’s moved up to 30.5 for slightly shorter odds after he cruised past it with a 15/8/11 line.
While it’s tempting to take the PRA prop, I’m turning instead to a more profitable +280 wager on him to record a double-double. He’s done it in four straight, and taking longer odds also allows me to take shorter odds on a safer LeBron James scoring prop in my three-leg parlay.
Reaves has taken on an expanded role as a playmaker with D’Angelo Russell traded, Gabe Vincent banged up, and a concerted effort to take pressure off of LeBron as a primary ball-handler. Across his last four games,
The guard has averaged 25.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, and a whopping 11.8 assists. He’s dished at least 10 dimes in all four and should continue to see heavy usage moving forward.
Reaves’ usage rate is 23.9 for the season, but it has increased to a healthy 28.1 across his last four games. Tonight, he has a favorable matchup with the Atlanta Hawks.
The implied point total is 231.5, which means plenty of opportunities to score and rebound. This season, the Hawks have allowed the fourth-most points and fourth-most assists per game.
Reaves’ ability to rebound and assist at a high level gives him a chance to hit this prop in two different ways. His recent bump in usage and favorable matchup make this prop quite a value at +280 odds.
