Two teams trying to turn the page from a rough January meet to kick off February, when the Orlando Magic visit the Utah Jazz.
The Jazz have lost eight straight, while Orlando has dropped the first two of a six-game road trip, with just three wins across the last 12.
The books still feel confident the Magic are the better team, listing them as 5.5-point favorites in the NBA picks when this one tips off at 5pm ET from the Delta Center in Salt Lake.
Our Magic vs. Jazz predictions thinks this has the makings of a low-scoring affair, similar to their first meeting this season, a 105-92 Jazz win on January 5.

My analysis
Since the Utah Jazz won back-to-back games in Florida over the Miami Heat and Orlando Magic, they’ve gone into the tank, with just one win over the last dozen.
Most recently, they were hammered by the Minnesota Timberwolves 138-113, done in by a third quarter where they were outscored 44-22.
Utah’s defense is a turnstile, as they’ve allowed an average of 125.1 points during this 8-game skid, with teams shooting 49.9% from the field and 38.1% from downtown.
The Jazz also lead the league in turnovers, at 17.6 per game, a big reason they lead the NBA in opponent points off turnovers allowed (22.1) and fast break points against (19.1).
You would think the Magic should be able to take advantage of that porous defense, but this team has had a whale of a time trying to put points on the board.
They are coming off a 119-90 drilling in Portland, the sixth time in Orlando’s last nine losses it’s failed to score 100 points.
Over this 12-game struggle, the Magic are averaging just 99.3 points per game, shooting a woeful 41.9% from the field and a rough 29% from 3-point range.
That’s just not enough to help a defense that’s been above average, giving up 110.8 points per game and does a good job squeezing off points around the margins.
The Magic give up an NBA-least 10.9 second-chance points, and are Top 6 in fewest fast break points and paint points allowed.
The Jazz have won four of the last six matchups, but the teams are both 3-3 against the spread.
Orlando and Utah’s combined struggles does make it feel more even than a 5.5-point spread, so let’s lean on these teams’ inability to get buckets.
The Jazz have cashed the Under in three of its last four, while the Magic have hit the Under in four of its last six, with just one total set above 213.5 points.
