Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets visit the Joel Embiid-less Philadelphia 76ers tonight at the Wells Fargo Center in the City of Brotherly Love.
Russell Westbrook has been playing very well as of late and I’m banking on that to continue in my Nuggets vs. 76ers predictions.

My best bet
Russell Westbrook Over 12.5 points (-125 at bet365)
My analysis
Russell Westbrook isn’t the MVP-caliber player he once was, but the veteran has carved out a nice role with the Denver Nuggets this season.
Head coach Michael Malone has used Russ strictly in the starting lineup over the last month, much in part due to his chemistry with Nikola Jokic.
The 36-year-old is averaging 13.2 ppg in 2024-25 and has cashed the Over in points in four straight appearances, scoring 14,14,13, and 18.
In fact, January has been a wonderful month for Westbrook, averaging 15.3 points in 16 games.
He’s started all of those contests, too.
It’s also important to note Westbrook’s minutes lately. He’s played more than 30 minutes in three of the last four games as Malone continues to use him a lot, even in crunch time.
That, of course, means more opportunity for the guard to score the rock.
The Philadelphia Sixers are a nightmare defensively and are allowing 22.2 points per game overall to shooting guards this season.
While Westbrook had just 11 points against Philly on January 21, he is averaging 14.4 ppg against Eastern Conference opponents.
Between Westbrook’s recent play, heavy minutes, and the 76ers’ lackluster perimeter defense, all signs point to Russ having a solid night.

Russell Westbrook Over 12.5 points
Tyrese Maxey Under 31.5 points
Nikola Jokic Under 10.5 assists
Tyrese Maxey has taken the bull by the horns this season and emerged as Philly’s star with Embiid and Paul George missing extensive time due to injuries.
The guard is averaging 27.1 ppg, but his total tonight is just a little too high for me.
Maxey has only hit the Over in two of his last seven appearances. The last time he faced Denver, Maxey dropped 28 points.
Yes, there have been a couple of performances where the Kentucky product has hit the 30-point mark, but there’s not enough evidence here for me to believe he could erupt tonight.
The Under is the safest bet.
Nikola Jokic is the most gifted big-man passer we’ve ever seen. He’s averaging a career-high 10.1 assists, which is absolutely ridiculous for a center.
However, Jokic has cashed the Under in dimes in six of his last nine games.
Jokic had just six assists last time out against the Knicks and dished out 10 when Denver faced Philadelphia just over a week ago. Again, 10.5 is too high for my liking.
The 76ers are also allowing just 4.3 assists per night to centers.
