I love the Denver Nuggets at +3.5 for -105 odds, but I’m happy to take this wager a step further by betting on Denver to win this one outright.
The Nuggets are 8-2 straight-up and 7-3 ATS across their last 10, and the Boston Celtics are one game back of Denver in that span. With such a close spread, it makes the most sense to bet the ML.
Despite boasting one of the best records in the Association, the Celtics have not commanded home court advantage. The team is just 18-11 straight up at TD Garden. Of the Top 5 teams in the East and the Top 6 in the West, Boston’s home winning percentage is the worst.
The Celtics are just 11-18 ATS as the home favorite and 24-32-1 as the favorite overall. Denver is 5-4 straight-up as the road dog and 19-12 away from Ball Arena.
The Celtics list Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis as doubtful, and Jaylen Brown is questionable. The team will be without a key defender on the perimeter and the interior, and the team will miss Porziginis’ scoring. Brown’s absence would be a key blow to the team’s offensive attack.
Key injuries and poor play at home have me leaning on Denver to win this one straight-up and send Boston to their first three-game losing streak of the season.
