The New Orleans Pelicans and Golden State Warriors meet in the tail end of a back-to-back tonight in the Bay Area.

My Pelicans vs. Warriors predictions have the visitors bouncing back with a win against the shorthanded Dubs. Continue reading for my NBA picks for Wednesday, October 30.

Pelicans vs Warriors prediction

My best bet
Pelicans moneyline (+124 at DraftKings)

My analysis
The New Orleans Pelicans sit at 2-2 in this young NBA campaign and remain one of the dark horses in the Western Conference. This is a very talented squad led by Zion Williamson, but they’ve been hit with some terrible injuries early on. Both Dejounte Murray and Trey Murphy III are sidelined at the moment.

However, that doesn’t mean they can’t win games, especially ones like tonight when their opponent is so shorthanded.

The Golden State Warriors will still be without Steph Currey and Andrew Wiggins is also out.  Yes, they managed to beat NOLA 124-106 without two of their best players, but are Brandin Podziemski, Buddy Hield, and Lindy Waters going to erupt for 20+ for a second straight night? I doubt it.

Plus, I’m expecting a bounce-back performance from CJ McCollum, who had a mere five points on Tuesday, failing to help out Zion and Brandon Ingram. The duo carried the load, scoring 61 of their 106 points.

New Orleans also won two out of three games against the Warriors last season. I don't see the Dubs putting up such huge numbers again and the Pels will be hungry to respond with a win of their own.

Pelicans vs Warriors same-game parlay (SGP)

Pelicans moneyline

Warriors team total Under 111.5

As previously mentioned, Steph and Wiggins aren’t playing at the moment. Don’t get me wrong, the supporting cast stepped up heavily on Tuesday, but I’m skeptical about the likes of Podziemski, Jonathan Kuminga, and Waters.

While the Warriors are averaging 123.8 points per contest this season, the Pelicans held them Under this number in both of their wins over Golden State last season. New Orleans will step it up defensively and contain the secondary pieces in the Bay Area.
