Winners of three in a row, the New Orleans Pelicans are just two games away from clinching a Top-6 NBA playoff spot in the West.
They’re in San Francisco Friday night for a date with the streaking Warriors, who are trying to climb out of the 9-10 play-in matchup, and the one-and-done scenario that comes with it.
G-State, who has ripped off nine wins in its last 10, is a 4.5-point home favorite in the NBA odds.

My analysis
The Warriors have been humming along, playing the best basketball of the season.
During this 10-game stretch, they’re shooting 50.8% from the field and 41% from downtown, while doling out 30.4 assists per game, with a +10.6-point differential.
Golden State also happens to be the best rebounding team in the league, averaging 46.7 per game.
The Dubs are coming off a Thursday night win over Portland, without Draymond Green (knee), Klay Thompson (knee), and Gary Payton II (calf). Their status for Friday is still unknown.
Most of this success has come away from Chase Center (eight games), and it’s notable because the Warriors have the worst home record of any of the West’s playoff-bound clubs.
The Pelicans, meanwhile, are tied with the Boston Celtics for the best record in the league at 27-14.
Their 3-game win streak has all been away from the Smoothie King Center, the latest a 135-123 shootout win over the Sacramento Kings.
The Pels are averaging 119.3 points per game during this win streak, hitting over 16 3-pointers per game on 42.6% shooting from distance.
This is the rubber match of their 3-game regular season series, and both games have been blowout wins by the visitors.
The last matchup on January 10 had NOLA hammering the Warriors 141-105, returning the favor after the Dubs went into the Big Easy and doled out a 130-102 beating.
Golden State is a Top-10 offense in the NBA, and the Pelicans are currently performing like one. Even with both teams playing the second night of a back-to-back, expect plenty of points at Chase.

Curry is coming off a 5-for-16 effort from distance in G-State’s 100-92 win over Portland, giving him at least five 3-point makes in three straight games.
He’s hit 10 moneyballs in two games against the Pels, including a 7-for-13 performance as part of a 42-point evening in October. In his last six games against NOLA, Curry has hit at least five 3-pointers in five of them, including three games with eight makes.
Zion Williamson is coming off a monster 31-point, 6-assist effort against the Kings. He’s averaging 27.2 points over his last nine contests.
But he has had his struggles against the Dubs, failing to crack the 20-point plateau in his last four matchups, including a pair of 19-point efforts in two games this season.
I’m betting the trend continues Friday night.
