After a break for Thanksgiving, basketball is back in a big way — and the NBA Cup heats up with 10 games scattered throughout the day.
The New York Knicks tip things off, the Boston Celtics chase a seventh straight win, and there’s a must-see nightcap as the Oklahoma City Thunder visit the Los Angeles Lakers. In short, it’s an NBA player props bonanza.
I’ve sifted through the different betting markets and my three top NBA picks for the November 29 slate include two of this year’s early MVP candidates.

NBA player props for November 29
Prop bet #1: Julius Randle Over 20.5 points
It’s been a challenging first month for the Minnesota Timberwolves, who drag a four-game losing streak into tonight’s clash with the Los Angeles Clippers — and the red flags prompted a typically honest assessment from Anthony Edwards this week.
Minnesota needs to get back on track in a hurry, and I see Julius Randle delivering here as Edwards’ scoring sidekick.
Randle has gone past this 20.5 points O/U line in six straight contests, including a 35-point explosion against the Phoenix Suns earlier this month. He’s put together an efficient week, including 17-for-32 shooting across his last two outings. Don’t expect a barrage of 3-pointers — he’s made just 28% of his triples this month — but he trails only Edwards in minutes per game.
With up-and-down production from Mike Conley, Jaden McDaniels, and Donte DiVincenzo, the Timberwolves need an aggressive version of Randle to get out of this current rut, and the wing-heavy Clippers could have problems with this matchup.
Randle should have the green light to go to work against smaller defenders in the paint, translating to high-percentage shots and trips to the free-throw line on the way to hitting this Over.
Prop bet #2: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 30.5 points
With three wins in a row, the Oklahoma City Thunder have regrouped impressively after Chet Holmgren’s injury, and a lot of that comes down to Shai-Gilgeous Alexander’s offensive wizardry.
The Thunder start the day as the No. 1 seed in the West, and SGA is effortlessly shouldering an even bigger scoring burden. He’s gone past the 30-point mark in four of his last five outings, and I’m picking him to add to that tally here.
He took 28 shots in the win over the Golden State Warriors this week, finishing with 35 points, and OKC is benefitting from him being ‘greedier,’ in the best sense of the word.
The Anthony Davis factor will make paint points tougher tonight against the Los Angeles Lakers, but Gilgeous-Alexander is so good at getting to his spots, and he shouldn’t have too many problems shaking the L.A. perimeter defense. He’s also knocked three or more triples in three of his past four games.
There’s always a nice floor for the SGA points prop with his ability to get to the free-throw line, where he’s shooting 86% this season, and he went 14-for-14 from the charity stripe against the Portland Trail Blazers last week.
Prop bet #3: Jayson Tatum Over 8.5 rebounds
Jayson Tatum’s scoring is always going to generate the biggest spotlight, but don’t sleep on his work on the glass. The Boston Celtics have needed his length through the first month of the season, and I like the Over on 8.5 rebounds for Tatum tonight.
Kristaps Porzingis returned to the starting line-up in midweek, and that will take away some of the rebounding opportunities, but Boston is going to be careful with Porzingis’ minutes — and Tatum still had nine boards on Wednesday against the Clippers.
He’s had at least nine rebounds in five of his last six games, and he’s set to stuff the stat sheet against the Chicago Bulls here, especially if Nikola Vucevic is glued to Porzingis on the perimeter.
The Bulls trend towards fast-pace, high-scoring contests, and they rank in the Top 10 for field goal attempts per game.
It’s no surprise to see Tatum as the Celtics’ leading rebounder so far this year, and the opportunities for double-digit boards will be there for as long as he’s logging 36 minutes a night.
