Best NBA Player Props Today for Feb. 24: Ant Puts in Work on the Glass

Anthony Edwards looks to put on another show in tonight's encore vs. OKC after gobbling up 10 rebounds a night ago. The Over on his rebounding prop highlights a trio of board picks in tonight's NBA player props.

It’s Monday and that means we have some chores. And by that, I mean cleaning the glass as my NBA player props are filled to the brim with rebounding picks.

The Washington Wizards look wandless on the boards. No Joel Embiid means no presence in the paint for the Philadelphia 76ers. And don’t underestimate an Ant’s rebounding ability, especially against an Oklahoma City Thunder team that surprisingly struggles in that area.

Here are my NBA picks for Monday, February 24.

NBA player props for February 24

Ziaire Williams Over 6.5 Rebounds (+120 at bet365)

The Brooklyn Nets taking on the Washington Wizards is truly an NBA matchup that only bettors could love.

But let’s give the Nets a little love. They have won seven of their last 10 games, including going 8-2 ATS in the process. Meanwhile, the Wizards have lost six in a row, and are an NBA-worst 9-47.

You’ve got to do a lot of things badly in order to have just nine wins at this point in the season. But one of the things they are the absolute worst at is rebounding. The Wiz enter with the third-worst rebounding rate in the NBA while surrendering the most opponent rebounds per game.

There are a lot of reasons for that. For starters, Richaun Holmes is the only reliable big man the Wizards employ who gets meaningful minutes, and he's more of a power forward than a true center.

On top of that, the Wizards play at a really high tempo, ranking fifth in pace. The problem with that is they also have the third-worst effective field-goal percentage. They're putting up a lot of bricks.

So, let’s target a Nets player’s rebounding prop. For me, Ziaire Williams sticks out. Williams is averaging 4.9 rebounds per game this season but is starting to get more run, averaging close to 30 minutes per game over his last eight. His rebounds have bumped up to 6.1 and he has hauled down seven or more five times during that stretch.

Williams’ rebounding prop is 6.5 with the Over at enticing plus money.

Coby White Over 3.5 Rebounds (+120 at bet365)

This season has gone from bad to an unmitigated disaster for the Philadelphia 76ers. Not only has the team with NBA Finals aspirations lost seven in a row straight up and against the spread to fall to 12th place in the Eastern Conference, but Joel Embiid’s return to the court is looking more and more unlikely.

All of a sudden, a matchup with the Chicago Bulls doesn’t look that easy. The Sixers are 4.5-point home favorites, but having confidence in them laying any number seems dicey at the moment.

But the spread isn’t the only place you can fade the Sixers these days. Picking on them with opposing player props has also been profitable, particularly on the boards.

When Embiid has been on the court, he has not been his effective self when it comes to cleaning the glass, averaging just 8.2 rebounds per game this season, the lowest since his rookie campaign. Even so, he’s the best rebounder on the team and the Sixers struggle without him on the floor.

Philly is dead last in the NBA when it comes to rebounding rate and 17th in opponent rebounds per game.

No Embiid also means a lack of a presence in the paint on offense, too. This means more perimeter shots from guys like Tyrese Maxey and Paul George. Which in turn means longer rebounds for guards to gobble up.

That has me looking at Coby White.

White is averaging 3.3 rebounds per game, so it’s not surprising his rebounding total is at 3.5. But with the Over at plus money in this matchup, I’m intrigued. White has hauled down four or more boards in three of his last six games and grabbed four rebounds in his only other meeting against the Sixers this season.

Anthony Edwards Over 6.5 Rebounds (+110 at bet365)

What will the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Oklahoma City Thunder give us for an encore?

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 37 points and added eight rebounds and eight assists in the 130-123 win in Minnesota last night. The second part of this back-to-back home-and-home series tips off in OKC tonight.

But while SGA and the Thunder keep rolling, they keep getting outworked in one area — on the boards.

OKC lost the rebounding battle to Minny last night 44-37 and that has been a running theme for the Thunder this season. Oklahoma City is 20th in rebounding rate and 23rd in opponent rebounds per game.

That is not a problem for a Wolves team that ranks 11th in rebounding rate and employs Rudy Gobert. However, Gobert is an obvious rebounding commodity and will be priced as such.

It should also be noted that OKC allows the most rebounds per game to opposing guards. And wouldn’t you know it, Anthony Edwards hauled down 10 boards in last night’s matchup.

Ant averages 5.9 rebounds per game this season but that is up to 6.9 over his last 10 games and he’s grabbed seven or more rebounds six times during that period. His rebounding prop for this rematch is 6.5, with the Over at plus money and our Covers Prop Projections have him at 6.9 rebounds.
