Monday’s two-game NBA slate is a stark contrast to Sunday’s hectic 10-gamer, but there are still plenty of worthwhile props to target.
My top NBA picks for Monday, April 7, focus on combo lines for two do-it-all big men and a breakout guard ending the season on a high note.
Best NBA player props today
Sabonis Over 37.5 pts+reb+ast (-115 at bet365)
Adebayo Over 36.5 pts+reb+ast (-115 at bet365)
Grimes Over 32.5 pts+reb+ast (-115 at bet365)
NBA player props for April 7
Domantas Sabonis Over 37.5 points + rebounds + assists (-115 at bet365)
Domantas Sabonis has firmly shaken off the rust since returning from an extended absence, and he’s been cooking over the last two weeks. Across his last six games, the Sacramento Kings big man has averaged a healthy 21.7 points, 14 rebounds, and 5.2 assists, good for 40.7 PRA. In that span, he’s posted at least 38 PRA five times, including four straight.
On the season, Sabonis has averaged 38.4 PRA at home and 39.7 on the road. He wasn’t available the last time these teams met, and his impact should be significant tonight. Across the last two seasons, Sabonis has posted PRA totals of 49, 60, 43, and 35 against the Detroit Pistons, hitting the Over in three of four games while averaging 46.8 PRA.
Detroit has allowed opposing centers to average 41.3 PRA this season, easily clearing tonight’s combo line. Jalen Duren missed Detroit’s last game and is questionable tonight. I’m taking the Over regardless of Duren’s status, but his absence would sweeten this prop’s appeal.
Bam Adebayo Over 36.5 points + rebounds + assists (-115 at bet365)
Bam Adebayo has averaged just 31.5 PRA across his last two matchups with the Philadelphia 76ers, posting totals of 35 and 28. He’s been hot over the last week, however, and I’m betting that he’ll have an even better performance tonight.
Adebayo has scored at least 21 points in four straight, and he’s averaged 40.8 PRA in that span while hitting the Over on this line three times. In his last two at home, Bam posted PRA totals of 48 and 38, hitting the Over in each one.
The Sixers will once again be without Andre Drummond and Guerschon Yabusele, and with Joel Embiid out for the season, the team will turn to some combination of Adem Bona, Ricky Council IV, and Marcus Bagley to man the frontcourt. This is a highly exploitable matchup for such a talented and experienced center, and I fully expect Adebayo to make the most of this opportunity.
Quentin Grimes Over 32.5 points + rebounds + assists (-115 at bet365)
Luka Doncic’s trade out of Dallas was egregious to the highest order imaginable, but the Quentin Grimes trade has also proven to be unfathomably poor. Since arriving in Philly, he’s broken out with multiple 40-point games, stellar passing, and strong rebounding.
Grimes has logged 17 games since March 1 and averaged 26.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists, good for 36.1 PRA across 34.9 minutes. He’s hit the Over on this line 12 times, and he’ll ride a three-game streak into tonight’s tilt with the Miami Heat.
As well as he’s played overall, Grimes has been lethal on the road. He’s hit the Over in nine of his last 10 away from Wells Fargo Center while averaging a whopping 38 PRA. I expect him to do it all for the Sixers once again as the team turns him loose to finish out his breakout campaign.
