There are six games tipping off across the NBA on New Year's Eve which gives us plenty of NBA player props to consider before we count down to midnight.

My NBA picks are backing Cavaliers forward Evan Mobley to have a big game against a Lakers squad that has been getting torched in the paint.

I'm also backing Clippers guard Kris Dunn and fading Grizzlies win John Konchar with my best free NBA player props for Tuesday, December 31.

NBA player props for December 31

Prop bet #1: Kris Dunn Over 2.5 assists

-120 at bet365

Los Angeles Clippers guard Kris Dunn is coming off a game against the Pelicans where he racked up six assists in 32 minutes. He has dropped 3+ dimes in five of his last six contests and is averaging 4.2 apg over that span.

With Terance Mann sidelined by an injury, Dunn has seen his playing time surge over the last couple of weeks. He was averaging 22.7 minutes per game through the Clippers first 28 contests this season but has logged at least 32 minutes in three of the last four games.

He should see enough of the floor tonight to go Over 2.5 assists against a San Antonio Spurs team that does a poor job of pressuring ball handlers (24th in opponent turnover rate).

Prop bet #2: Evan Mobley 20+ Points

+165 at bet365

Evan Mobley is coming off a quiet performance against the Warriors where he scored just seven points on 2-6 shooting. That said, the Cleveland Cavaliers power forward had dropped at least 20 points in 12 of his previous 20 games.

Today, Mobley and the Cavs face off the Los Angeles Lakers who are 21st in the NBA in defensive rating. The Lakers have really struggled to defend inside, ranking 28th in points per game allowed in the paint (52.0) with that number ticking up to 56.0 over their last three games.

Mobley is fifth in the league in field goals made per game (5.1) within 5-feet of the basket. He's also in the top 20th percentile of players at attacking the rim and post-up frequency which makes this a great matchup for him.

Prop bet #3: John Konchar Under 8.5 rebounds

-125 at bet365

John Konchar is coming off an incredible 15-rebound performance but that has led to an inflated O/U of 8.5 for his rebounds tonight. Don't forget that the previous game was the first time this season that the 6-foot-5 wing has pulled down more than eight boards.

The Memphis Grizzlies are missing big men Zach Edey, Brandon Clarke, and Santi Aldama, so there will be plenty of rebounds to go around, but this number still looks too high. Konchar is averaging 3.5 rebounds per game in 13.2 minutes per game this season and last season he averaged a career-high 4.7 rpg in 21.3 mpg.

Even with 30+ minutes he'll have a tough time eclipsing this number against the Phoenix Suns who allow the seventh-fewest rebounds per game (50.7) in the league.
