The injury report for Heat vs. Lakers is a long one, but Tyler Herro is set to play, and Tom Oldfield expects him to have a big game.

It’s a quick turnaround for several teams tonight after wrapping up the NBA Cup group stage. Still, entertainment is guaranteed with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Trae Young squaring off, plus LeBron James making another return to Miami.

I’m targeting three star talents for my favorite NBA player props here, including another big night for the league’s leading scorer and some fireworks in South Beach.

Dive into the December 4 slate with my NBA picks for a fun night of hoops.

NBA player props for December 4

Prop bet #1: Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 32.5 points

-110 at bet365

Don’t look now, but the Milwaukee Bucks seem to be finding their rhythm. With seven straight wins and the top spot in their NBA Cup group, the gloom from the first few weeks has lifted.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is at the heart of Milwaukee’s turnaround, and I expect another monster scoring night.

The Greek Freak is averaging an NBA-best 32.7 points per game, and he’s poured in 37 or more in three of his last five outings — not to mention a 59-point explosion against the Pistons last month. He’s making it look simple, too, shooting 62% from the field and refusing to let the Bucks wilt.

I don’t see the Atlanta Hawks slowing him down, either. The Hawks are allowing 119 points a game — fourth most in the league — and they’re always scrambling to paper over Trae Young’s defensive flaws.

Look for a procession to the free-throw line tonight for Antetokounmpo, who’s attempted double-digit free throws in five straight games, and a barrage of easy buckets in what should be a high-scoring contest.

Prop bet #2: Tyrese Haliburton Under 9.5 assists

-125 at bet365

It’s hard to figure out what’s driving Tyrese Haliburton’s struggles this year, but the 9-13 Indiana Pacers just haven’t looked as dangerous.

Haliburton found his shooting stroke last night with 30 points in a loss to the Toronto Raptors, but his playmaking numbers have dipped after averaging at least 10 assists per game in the past two seasons.

I’m riding with that trend here despite a favorable matchup against the Brooklyn Nets. Haliburton is only serving up 8.5 dimes per game this year, and he’s fallen short of the 10-assists mark in seven of his last nine outings.

Some of that stems from the Pacers’ inconsistent shooting — they rank in the bottom half of the league with 12.4 made triples a night — and they’re missing reliable marksmen Aaron Nesmith and Ben Sheppard.

Giving up at least 120 points in three straight games also doesn't help, as it's limited the team’s chances to get out in transition where Haliburton thrives as a creator.

Still, there’s enough of a sample size to prompt some alarm bells in Indiana, and I’m picking Haliburton to finish with single-digit assists again here.

Prop bet #3: Tyler Herro Over 22.5 points

-115 at bet365

We’ve got a jam-packed injury report for the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers tonight — Anthony Davis is probable, Jimmy Butler and Austin Reaves are questionable, and so on. So I’m sticking with a sharpshooter who’s in good form and could be in line for more volume if Butler sits out.

Tyler Herro has been terrific in a typically up-and-down Heat season, and I like the Over on his points prop here.

He’s gone past this 22.5 O/U line in three of his last four games, including a 31-point masterpiece against the Toronto Raptors at the weekend, and he’s averaging 23.7 ppg overall this year.

Volume shouldn’t be a problem either. He’s jacked up at least 16 shots in five of his past six contests, and he won’t get much resistance from D’Angelo Russell on the perimeter. Outside of Davis, this Lakers defense has looked shaky while allowing 114.9 ppg.

If Butler plays, I still feel good about this Herro prop, particularly as he’s making teams pay from beyond the arc this year, hitting his 3-pointers at a 41% clip. Count on Miami’s No. 1 bucket-getter putting on a show tonight.
