NBA player props for April 2
Tyrese Haliburton double-double (+100 at bet365)
After a rocky start to the season, Tyrese Haliburton has turned a corner, and he’s been phenomenal since returning from the All-Star break. The star PG averaged just 17.8 points and 8.5 assists pre-break, but he’s provided 21.3 points and 11.3 dimes since.
Hali has posted a double-double in 13 of his last 16, and he’s been most effective in front of the home crowd. Haliburton has averaged 20.1 points and 10 assists at home and just 17.3 points and 8.3 assists on the road overall this season.
Games at Gainbridge Fieldhouse have been a boon for Haliburton since returning from the break. He’s averaged 21.5 points and 12.4 assists in 11 home games since. In that span, he’s posted 10 double-doubles. Haliburton has been on a roll, and I’ll happily take the even money value on this prop.
Jalen Green Over 22.5 points (-115 at bet365)
Jalen Green has been hot as a scorer lately, but a recent dud has driven his scoring line down, and I’m ready to take advantage. Green finished with just nine points on 4-for-13 shooting in his last time out in a 104-98 loss to the Lakers on Monday. Even with that game, he’s averaged 24.3 points across his last 11 outings.
In that span, Green has scored at least 23 points eight times, and he’s reached that mark in each of his last six at home while averaging 28.7 points. Green dropped 21 and 25 in two matchups with the Jazz this season, and he scored at least 30 twice against them a season ago.
Utah owns the second-worst defensive rating in the NBA this season, setting Green up nicely in a favorable matchup. Utah’s poor defense and Houston’s recent surge on offense mean the Rockets should put up plenty of points, and Green is often the team’s leading scorer.
Domantas Sabonis Over 34.5 points + rebounds (-110 at bet365)
It’s tough to find a better matchup for opposing centers than the Washington Wizards’ defense, and Domantas Sabonis is one of the league’s best rebounders and big-man scorers. Sacramento’s starting center is averaging 19 points and 14 boards this season, just a hair under this combo line.
Sabonis has taken some time to shake off the rust following an extended absence, but he’s rounding back into form. Over his last three, he’s averaged 20.3 points and 16 boards and hit the Over on this line twice.
The Wizards have allowed opposing centers to average 26.2 points (most) and 16.8 rebounds (second-most). Sabonis has hit the Over in four of five matchups with the Wizards since arriving in Sacramento while averaging 24.2 points and 13.8 boards against Washington. That includes a 29/18 performance this season that he’ll look to build on in this one.
