Raptors vs Lakers Prediction, Picks, & Odds for Tonight’s NBA Game

The 2-8 Raptors haven't looked like a playoff team this season but there are things to like. Despite the losses piling up, Toronto has covered the spread consistently of late. We like the Dinos to do the same vs. the Lakers tonight.

There’s been a lot of focus on the Los Angeles Lakers’ rejigged starting line-up this week, but the Toronto Raptors arrive at Crypto.com Arena tonight with a more dangerous look to their own starting five.

Immanuel Quickley’s return last night nudges Toronto closer to Darko Rajakovic’s preferred rotation, and my Raptors vs Lakers predictions expect a strong effort from the visitors against an L.A. defense short on perimeter stoppers.

Check out my top NBA picks for this November 10 clash.

Raptors vs Lakers prediction

My Raptors pick
Raptors +10.5 (-110 at PointsBet Canada)

My analysis
If we assume the Toronto Raptors’ two primary goals this season are player development and draft lottery ping-pong balls, it’s been a terrific start.

Toronto has shown more than enough promise to keep fans excited about this young roster while ending up on the wrong side of a string of tight games. Last night was more of the same, with the Raptors slipping to a 105-103 loss against the Los Angeles Clippers.

With the visitors boasting an 8-2 ATS record in their last 10 games, I’m pouncing on the chance to take this feisty Toronto roster and the +10.5 line — and their youth and athleticism should offset the fatigue factor on a back-to-back set.

The Raptors’ defensive struggles are clear. Only the Washington Wizards are allowing more points per game so far this year, so I’m not counting on defensive grit to cover the spread.

Instead, it’s the Toronto offense that gives me confidence. They surprisingly rank sixth in the league with 116.5 ppg, and there are flaws in this Los Angeles Lakers defense to pick at here. L.A. sits in the bottom half of the NBA with 118.4 points allowed per game.

With Immanuel Quickley’s return putting Davion Mitchell into a more natural backup role, the Raptors are well-placed to push the pace in another “close but no cigar” outing.

Raptors vs Lakers same-game parlay

Raptors +10.5

Austin Reaves Over 17.5 points

RJ Barrett Under 5.5 assists

Austin Reaves may be the biggest beneficiary of D’Angelo Russell’s move to the bench. We saw that on Friday in L.A.’s win over the Philadelphia 76ers, with Reaves dropping in six 3-pointers on the way to a 20-point night.

It doesn’t feel like the O/U props have caught up with his November production yet. Reaves is averaging 19 ppg in his four outings this month, including 20 points against the Raptors on November 1, and he should walk into good looks here as he faces a Toronto team that’s on the second night of a back-to-back set.

There’s a clear path to at least 15 field-goal attempts tonight, and Reaves is getting up seven triples per game this year. That number could climb with a bigger share of the ballhandling duties, and I see him staying hot from deep to cash in the Over on this friendly 17.5 line.

I’m also fading the RJ Barrett assists prop in a Raptors offense that will increasingly flow through Quickley, whose playmaking ability is a huge boost for the visitors’ spacing but takes touches away from Barrett and Gradey Dick.

Barrett’s assist totals have been all over the map this year — partly because he’s been overstretched in a No.1 role lately — but he’s ended up with just three dimes in each of his last two games.

A reduced creative role seems logical as Toronto’s injury list gradually eases, and his minutes load should also drop a little with Quickley available again.

Raptors vs Lakers spread and Over/Under analysis

  • The Lakers are 4-0 at home this season and the double-digit spread reflects both L.A.’s form at Crypto.com Arena and the Raptors’ 0-4 record on the road.
  • But beware a 2-8 Toronto team that’s found a way to keep the score close despite losing eight of its last 10 games.
  • The Over is 7-3 in the visitors’ last 10 contests, though they’re coming off two straight Unders, including last night's 105-103 loss.
  • The Lakers have hit the 4Q Total Under in 31 of their last 45 home games.
